The secret life of an ISKCON Sannyasi.
[English is not the first language of the author(s) so please excuse any mistakes in their attempt.]
In light of recent articles highlighting HH Sacinandana Swami’s long standing deviations and pernicious influence at the Bhaktivedanta College we present the first of a series of articles dedicated to His Holiness Sacinandana Swami (SNS). We really do not find any joy in doing this and would prefer to be just chanting and hearing the glories of the Lord and His devotees and leave such onerous and thankless tasks to senior devotees and especially the GBC where he is active. Sacinandana Swami has a big presence in Germany, Switzerland and the Balkans, but unfortunately the GBC in these areas have done nothing to correct him.
This series is a compilation from many sources that must remain anonymous; otherwise they will get serious retribution, possibly even violence. We begin with:
Mr and Mrs Sacinandana Swami
“The vow of brahmacarya is meant to help one completely abstain from sex indulgence in work, words, and mind-at all times, under all circumstances and in all places.” (Yajnavalkya-smrti, as quoted in Bg. 6.13-14p)
Hypocrisy
“Of all kinds of suffering and bondage arising from various attachments, none is greater than the suffering and bondage arising from attachment to women and intimate contact with those attached to women.” (SB 11.14.30)
For the last 6-7 years, if you have seen Sacinandana Swami anywhere, you would not see him alone or in company of brahmacaris or Prabhus; he is always with Bhanu-nandini.

They Live Together
For sometime, Sacinandana Swami and Bhanu-nandini lived in an expensive lakeside villa in Germany. His grihastha disciples work hard to earn money, so they can give to their sannyasi guru some daksina, as a token for his spiritual guidance. They still live together.

They Travel Together All Over the World
Sacinandana Swami and Bhanu-nandini travel together sometimes just two of them, either by car (she drives), or by plane. He also took her on the cruise trip with Radhantha Swami and some mayavadis.

Sacinandana Swami took Bhanu-nandini on a cruise with him. She is sitting next to him,
on his left side. There is also Krishna Dasa (spiritual slut) on the opposite side.

Sacinandana Swami and Bhanu-nandini [allegedly] spend hours and hours alone in his room every day, on a pretext that she is doing some spiritual service for him.
“Never trust the mind. The mind will tell us, “I can speak to this woman, I won’t get agitated,” “She is only a child,” or, “She is much older than me, so no problem,” or “She is the chaste wife of so and so,” or, “Anyway, I know the philosophy, I’m not going to speak to her for long, it’s important, and I’m not going to fall down.” But sastra states that, what to speak of lusty rascals brought up in the modern sex-centered so-called civilization, even learned scholars of the Vedic age were totally forbidden from sitting close to their mother, sister, or daughter!” (SB 9.19.17)
Sacinandana Swami and Bhanu-nandini travel together to India, to Vrindavan and Mayapur, and to other holy places together. In the video on this page you will see Bhanu-nadini at the 16 sec mark.
He speaks about highest rasika topics, while at the same time he lives, travels and comes to holy places with the woman, Bhanu-nandini. When Harikesha (ex-Swami) was the GBC in Sacinandana Swami’s zone, he had a tight grip around Sacinandana Swami’s neck. For example, at that time, Sacinandana Swami wanted to take with him a famous German pop-star Nina Hagen to Vrindavan. When Harikesha came to know about it, he shouted at Sacinandana Swami, saying “SHE IS A WOMAN! SHE IS A WOMAN! YOU ARE A SANNYASI! YOU CAN’T GO TO VRINDAVAN WITH A WOMAN!“.
But after Harikesha left his position, Sacinandana Swami became loose, and no GBC or Godbrother can instruct him and control him from loose behavior and making a mockery of sannyasa asram. So because this has gone on for so long it is finally reached this point and is being exposed in this way. (A thief is not usually caught the first time he steals.)
Bhanu-nandini comes with Sacinandana Swami to yearly kirtan-mela to Mayapur. They were seen in Mayapur together in a car (just two of them and local Bengali driver) and doing parikrama. They walk to the temple in Mayapura, shoulder to shoulder, next to each other, without any distance in between them. She would not walk behind him, with covered head what to speak to keep a distance from a sannyasi as any chaste lady would do. She would just walk along with him, and behaving freely (loose), and he seems so happy to have her next to him.

If Bhanunandini talks to other matajis, Sacinandana Swami will immediately call her: “Bhanu-nandini, Bhanu-nadini come here let’s go.” And she would immediately come and they would just go here and there together. This behavior of an ISKCON sannyasi walking and talking so intimately with a young woman left bad impression on devotees in Mayapur who saw them on daily basis. I saw local pious Bengali villagers with quizzical looks on their faces after seeing them walking about like husband and wife.
They live like husband and wife in his sannyas asrama
Maintained by donations received from his disciples and well-wishers Sacinandana Swami and Bhanu-nandini live in his sannyas asrama like husband and wife. Some say that Bhanu-nandini has a sponsor who pays her trips with Sacinandana Swami, but nobody knows name of the sponsor.

“If our mind is filled with sense gratification, even though we want Krsna consciousness, by continuous practice we cannot forget the subject of sense gratification.” (SB 4.22.30p) And, “in the Caitanya-caritamrta it is stated that if someone sincerely wants to see the Lord and at the same time wants to enjoy this material world, he is considered to be a fool only.”(SB 2.9.23p) Therefore, “it is the duty of the transcendentalist to try strenuously to control desire.” (Bg. 5.23p)
If we see some grihastha man traveling and living with some other young, attractive woman (who is not his wife), it would be so strange and condemned by Vaisnavas and society at large. What to speak of a sannyasi and initiating guru doing it!
“Therefore the Vedic culture has always carefully restricted the mixing of men and women. Most of the time traditional brahmacaris wouldn’t see women at all, as they would be busy with their studies. Addressing all women as mata (mother), the only relationship they might have was with their guru’s wife, who in the absence of their real mother would look after the boys. Even then there were restrictions, especially after the boys reached puberty and if the wife was young. Brahmacaris would not even see any young woman for the first twenty-five years of their lives. (SP lecture, 06/02/75) Vanaprasthas kept the company of their aging wives, under strict vows, but for sannyasis, association with women was meant to be zero. Even grhasthas were only allowed limited association. Free mixing with women was only for sudras and outcastes (i.e., those with no higher values of life).” (Brahmacarya in Krsna Consciousness by Bhakti Vikasa Swami).
His Disciples
Some of his disciples left him because of his illicit relationship with Bhanu-nandini, and because of his philosophical deviations and bad advices. Others also pointed out to him that this was not proper to be intimate with any woman. In this case they mentioned Bhanu-nandini.
Some disciples are talking in between themselves, asking each other, when will their Guru Maharaja marry Bhanunandini? Sacinandana Swami’s reaction to those disciples who dared to ask him anything about Bhanunandini was to smash them, or ignore them or he became distant and impersonal to them, as if they do not exist anymore. And yet, some other disciples think that it is “normal” that their guru has a female companion, because he is just a man! He also has desires and emotional attachments. And that he must be still bona fide, because the GBC did not remove him from sannyasa asrama yet.
Sacinandana Swami is very protective in his relationship with Bhanunandini and ignores anybody who has to say something about it to him. Many disciples see sparkles in his eyes when he talks to Bhanu nandini, and they say he has never been so happy before, as he is now with her. It seems obvious that they are very much in love with each other.

Even Bir Krsna Goswami, who himself has a bad reputation for associating with women, pointed out to Sacinandana Swami that what he was doing was way over the top and that he should not associate with her, or any other woman. But Sacinandana “Swami” does not listen to anybody.
Who is Bhanu-nandini and how they met
Bhanu-nandini comes from a Bosnian, Muslim family. Her parents and sister also became devotees. As soon as she joined Krsna consciousness, Sacinandana Swami spotted her, and proclaimed that he recognized her from a previous life. She became his disciple, and immediately started traveling with him. Since then they are inseparable. He is very possessive when it comes to her, and does not even allow her to associate much with her God-sisters, but just keeping her for himself most of the time.
Can we imagine all ISKCON sannyasis, following in the footsteps of Sacinandana Swami having a young female disciple travel and live with them all the time, everywhere! This is just sahajiyaism, like the Radhakunda babajis with their female concubines. Is that what Srila Prabhupada wanted from our sannyasis; to live and travel and stay alone for hours in the same room with a woman? And the GBC has done nothing about it yet.
“In our Krsna consciousness movement it is advised that the sannyasis and brahmacaris keep strictly aloof from the association of women so that there will be no chance of their falling down again as victims of lusty desires.” (SB 7.15.36p)
Why the GBC don’t protect Sacinandana Swami
from falldown?
It is so sad that the GBC are not able to control Sacinandana Swami and his girlfriend Bhanu-nandini. Are they waiting to get shots from CCTV camera of SNS and Bhanu-nandini having gross fall down? Or, news that she is pregnant or had an abortion? Or, do they think that until then they should just let him continue his inappropriate affair with her?

HH Bir Krsna Goswami is GBC in the Balkans (except Croatia where he was recently replaced) not only did nothing to stop SNS but was himself complicit and guilty of similar philosophical deviations. For example both Bir Krsna Goswami and Sachinandana Swami support Krsna West and want to introduce it into the Balkans. And, of course Bir Krsna Goswami has his own history of shady relationships with women and even promotes this woman, Urmila dd, in the Balkans. Then in Germany Ravindra Swarupa Prabhu and now his protégé Dina Sharana dd are GBC, but considering that these two had a very “close” relationship leading to the estrangement of her husband they, like Bir Krsna Goswami, were not exactly on the moral high ground to teach Sacinandana Swami anything.
What is the tipping point when the GBC takes action against a sannyasi who stopped following his sannyas duties? Many disciples of Sacinandana Swami expressed dissatisfaction with their guru’s behavior, and wonder why the GBC and Sannyas Ministry do not stop this illicit connection or make him leave the sannyas ashram and marry Bhanu-nandini. It seems they don’t want to do anything. They are leaving him unprotected and neglect his obvious fall down with this woman. If he is so blind with lust why they do not help him? This is not only bad for SNS but also very disturbing to his disciples and undermining their spiritual life.
Who is giving him political protection to allow this nonsense to go on for so long? As a one devotee said:
“Nobody will dare to speak up. Not even the sannyasis. He always makes sure that he has friends in high places. Whoever is the biggest, he will court. It was like that with Harikesh Swami, it was for some time with Jayapataka Swami, and has been all along with Bhurijan, Danurdhara Swami, and when Radhanath became big, he instantly hooked up with him. You have all his [SNS] disciples at your throat, even if you say the obvious.”

Sacinandana Swami gave his vow to follow, live and serve Srila Prabhupada as a sannyasi in ISKCON. He breaks his sannyasa vows.
There are eight aspects of brahmacarya, as described in Sridhara Swami’s commentary on Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.1.12 and SB 6.1.13 Purport:
smaranam kirtanam kelih
preksanam guhyabhasanam
sankalpo `dhyavasayas ca
kriya-nirvrttir eva ca
One should not:
- Think about women.
- Speak about sex life.
- Dally with women.
- Look lustfully at women.
- Talk intimately with women.
- Decide to engage in sexual intercourse.
- Endeavor for sex life.
- Engage in sex life.

Hugh Heffner (Playboy Magazine Founder) was 70 years old when he had an 18 year old girlfriend but at least he did not wear ‘saffron cloth’ (worn by renuncients), so that makes ‘Hugh’ more honest and genuine than this guy! Sachinandan “Swami” is 60 years old, so he looks old enough to be her grandad! That is ‘borderline paediphilia’ (or perhaps necrophilia), a pretty young girl beying groped by a ‘dirty old man’ and a ‘hypocrite’ at that!…..pretty cringewothy stuff! He looks ‘besotted by her’ like putty in her hands….How pathetic this guy is?
And these people preach that they are bona-fide, as good as God, ‘gurus’, and representatives of Srila Prabhupada! What a joke. These (half a brain), foolish “disciples” should be picked up and vigorously slapped! for giving their ‘hard earned money’ to this parasitic, mayavadi, sleazebag.

At the present moment, however, many so-called sannyasis or mendicants have no understanding of God consciousness. Such sannyasa was introduced by Indra because of his jealousy of Maharaja Prthu, and what he introduced is again appearing in the age of Kali. PRACTICALLY NONE OF THE SANNYASIS IN THIS AGE ARE BONA FIDE.

In Kali-yuga, however, the entire system has gone topsy-turvy. The student lives in luxury at the expense of the father or the father-in-law. When the educated, indulgent student becomes a householder by the strength of university degrees, he requires money by all means for all kinds of bodily comfort, and therefore he cannot spare even a penny for the so-called vanaprasthas and sannyasis. THE VANAPRASTHAS AND SANNYASIS NOWADAYS ARE THOSE WHO WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN FAMILY LIFE. THUS THE SO-CALLED SANNYASIS TRY TO CONSTRUCT ANOTHER HOME IN THE NAME OF THE SANNYASA-ASRAMA AND GLIDE DOWN INTO ALL SORTS OF LUXURY AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS. SO ALL THESE VARNAS AND ASRAMAS HAVE NOW BECOME SO MANY TRANSCENDENTAL FRAUDS.
But that does not mean that there is no reality in them. One should not conclude that there is no good money simply because one has met with counterfeit coins. The sannyasa-asrama is meant for complete freedom from all anxieties, and it is meant for uplifting the fallen souls, who are merged in materialism. BUT UNLESS THE SANNYASI IS FREED FROM ALL CARES AND ANXIETIES, LIKE A WHITE CLOUD, IT IS DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO DO ANYTHING GOOD FOR SOCIETY.

It is the duty of a mendicant (parivrajakacarya) to experience all varieties of God’s creation by traveling alone through all forests, hills, towns, villages, etc., to gain faith in God and strength of mind as well as to enlighten the inhabitants with the message of God. A sannyasi is duty-bound to take all these risks without fear, and the most typical sannyasi of the present age is Lord Caitanya, who traveled in the same manner through the central Indian jungles, enlightening even the tigers, bears, snakes, deer, elephants and many other jungle animals. IN THIS AGE OF KALI, SANNYASA IS FORBIDDEN FOR ORDINARY MEN. One who changes his dress to make propaganda is a different man from the original ideal sannyasi. One should, however, take the vow to stop social intercourse completely and devote life exclusively to the service of the Lord. The change of dress is only a formality. LORD CAITANYA DID NOT ACCEPT THE NAME OF A SANNYASI, AND IN THIS AGE OF KALI THE SO-CALLED SANNYASIS SHOULD NOT CHANGE THEIR FORMER NAMES, FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LORD CAITANYA.
Yes, Sudarasana Prabhu, you are so right. This is pedophilia. That young girl is being exploited by a lusty old man masquerading as a so-called “spiritual master.” It’s actually criminal. ISKCON is supposed to be protecting women, children, old men, brahmanas and cows. But instead they have to be protected from the “leaders” of ISKCON!
“And this kind of hypocrisy–they have taken sannyasa and mixing with woman. This is not to be allowed. If you want woman you get yourself married, live respectfully. We have no objection. But this hypocrisy should be stopped. There have been so many fallen down. First of all there will be no sannyasi anymore. I have got very bad experience. And at least, we are not going to create new sannyasis. And those who have fallen down, let them marry, live like respectable gentlemen. I have no objection. […]
Get one wife and live like a gentleman. Similarly woman. Live with one husband fastidiously, with children. What is the wrong there? We have so many grhastha devotees. […]
