In February of this year at the annual GBC meetings I met with a cohort of my GBC godbrothers at their request to address some concerns raised in regards to the transparency of my past when it comes to accepting and initiating disciples.
The conversation was conducted respectfully and in a collegiate manner and I have humbly conceded to comply with some conditions put forward during the discussion. Those conditions are…
- That the following declaration be made available to all current disciples and existing prospective disciples
- That appropriate temple authorities discuss the below declarations with any future prospective disciples before such candidates approach me for shelter and immediately upon learning that the candidate is seeking shelter from me
- That the below declarations be made publicly available in all temples and zones where I am a GBC, hold a position of leadership, or have a significant number of supporters
My declaration…
- The proverbial ‘elephant in the room’… my re-entry in to Iskcon after being excommunicated during the New Vrindavan years was under an agreement of amnesty, I continue an expectation of that amnesty being honored, I reserve my right to silence on questions around my involvement in the activities of the time, assets I had control over, and the ongoing proprietorship of said assets
- In unison with the vast majority of my Sanyasi godbrothers I decline to participate in the GBC mandate that Sanyasis’ declare their assets and income on an annual basis. I include questions around my Australian registered company ‘Jay Matsya Superannuation’ within this privacy
- I have several aliases that I have not deemed necessary to declare publicly in the past, Devamrita Swami, Jay Matsya, and my birth name Lee Reynolds
- I have been married and divorced twice, once to a Polish devotee, once to a Danish devotee. There have been times where I have denied being married
- In 2016 a recording was made public of me giving advice in regards to how local authorities should deal with the reporting of a sexual assault. In the recording I advise them to try and get the victim to state it was mutual and that it will all go away. No Iskcon authority has expressed to me that this advice is inappropriate

I shared this email from Devamrita Swami with one of his disciples in New Zealand, and this is the response I promptly received:
“Thanks but it’s bogus trolling – not an actual email from HH Devamrita swami. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though.”
However, it may be interesting to note that I recently visited this disciple’s multi-hundred acre “lifestyle farm” that may well be part of “I reserve my right to silence on questions around my involvement in the activities of the time, assets I had control over, and the ongoing proprietorship of said assets”.
I visited The Loft & Yoga Lounge in Auckland, one of his ongoing “outreach” assets, where the philosophy that’s preached is beyond the most erudite Mayavadi’s convoluted imagination. However, it is rather attractive for those who enjoy indulging in endless mental gymnastics of the futile kind.
I also learnt from a close friend & devotee who lives in Auckland that Indian bodied devotees are not welcome at these gatherings, and her devotee sister was categorically asked to not attend these programs.
Must mention, that I also visited a Prabhupadanugas farm in NZ where I presented a stop-motion animation workshop to children and adults. Even there, Indian bodied devotees are kept at an arm’s length, and deemed as being “too critical.” This strange divide is startling and completely against the Krishna conscious understanding, as repeatedly emphasised by Srila Prabhupada:
“There is no question of black and white. Kṛṣṇa consciousness is above the skin—the soul which is there. Either he’s black or white or yellow, it doesn’t matter. Dehino ‘smin yathā dehe [Bg. 2.13]. In about two years, I’m keen on investing in a centre for Srila Prabhupada somewhere on this planet, and have been reaching out to various devotees who may be interested in a collaboration.
During my trip to NZ, I was approached by one of Devamrita Swami’s disciples to start a childrens’ education centre as part of their “out-reach” program. However, the reluctance to put Srila Prabhupada in the center and a lack of transparency in dealings, makes it impossible to venture any further.
Given that the email from Devamrita Swami is a genuine one, the most shocking “declaration” is

To me, he is just a professional (gay) speaker and knows how to rope in em posing as a bona-fide guru.
They protect each other while continuing stealing assets and disciples of Srila Prabhupada.
Over 40 years, continuing stopping the rivik-order, stopping the poison issue while changing the books and mission to suit their bank accounts and power positions.
One of the centuries greatest cover up is that Tamal and his co-conspirators got away with poisoning Prabhupada & that Srila Prabhupada appointed them gurus!

The fragmenting of Srila Prabhupada’s mission is very painful. Nevertheless, it is like a surgical procedure – initially painful and ultimately cleansing and healing.
This is the most valuable mission on the planet that Shri Krishna is directly in charge of, and we – individually & collectively, have to aspire for shuddha-sattva platform and pray to remain there through sincere devotional service so that we don’t get thrown out with the gunk. These are testing times.
I do pray and hope to succeed in collaborating with a group of Vaiṣṇavas, and be a part of a Srila Prabhupada-centric center, where everyday we have Mangala-arotik, Japa, Srimad Bhagavatam & Bhagavad-gita classes, and daily Sankirtana with Srila Prabhupada’s vani.
During the day, everyone can be busy with as their propensity and need drives them.
I would like to start a facility for home-schooled as well as after-school children, where they can begin the ‘Athāto brahma jijñāsā’ process, while imbibing literacy & numeracy, through creatively designed expressive arts, and are served prasadam.
A community like this should be dedicated to sharing and caring, exemplifying Vaiṣṇava philosophy that’s based on personalism, love for Krishna and each other.
With Srila Prabhupada’s parampara, now taking-off at various (oft confusing) tangents, I dread the thought of ending up in a off-grid mountain cave without internet access.
As of now, we are struggling with Mayadevi’s test, and Kali is gleefully dividing, ruling, and most dangerously inflicting the poison of impersonalism.
I pray and hope our wonderful Vaiṣṇavas with kṣatriya qualities, who are doing a commendable job calling a spade a spade, would engage their positive administrative abilities in spearheading Vaiṣṇava communities that will flourish in taking the pure essence of Srila Prabhupada’s mission and desire, forward and onward.

I agree with your comments regarding the Loft. It is not at all in line with Prabhupada’s and shastric teachings. Late night discos coloured lights. I would consider it to be sahajia.
I have not visited New Varshan for some time now but they do seem to keep a very good standard of sadhana at the least.
I live in New Zealand which is why I am asking the above questions.
