Letters To Srila Prabhupada

That Srila Prabhupada is still managing the original Hare Krsna movement he can still therefore receive and read letters from his disciples, his followers and his admirers in general. We therefore humbly request that the Writers Corner which has been proposed, if accepted post whatever letters the devotees, followers and admirers wish to send to Srila Prabhupada at any time from any location.
We encourage those writing such letters that they not be composed of complaints regarding anything that might unnecessarily upset Srila Prabhupada. Rather give him as much good news and information as you want about what services you are doing for him and plans you have for the future. Some may ask questions of Srila Prabhupada that may be answered by other devotees in their letters.

The ongoing controversy over the book changes as well as the ongoing serious concern about child protection are already being handled expertly by many devotees and their communities around the world. Let the Letters To Srila Prabhupada be composed of devotional service enthusiasm, new ideas and reports of desires and successes.
In that way their exposure may bring some great joy and hope into the lives of the readers and a smile to Srila Prabhupada’s face.
Personal letters to Srila Prabhupada can be presented to him in private at home as well and need not be made public. Let us continue to associate with him with more extended and ever expanding personal services.

After all Srila Prabhupada wants everyone to become jolly.

Two Letters To Srila Prabhupada from 2013.

We are planning on sending one letter a month to Srila Prabhupada which will be more like an open report for everyone to read and hopefully get some inspiration from.

    Dear Srila Prabhupada.

Please accept my humble obeisance’s all glories to your lotus feet.

I am on holidays this week. We have big plans to work in the back yard to get the vegetable garden ready and clear the little patio so that we can put a chair there for you to sit from time to time to enjoy the garden as it blooms. We do quite well these days growing a fairly wide variety of vegetables and fruit on only a 300 square foot garden by the way. Next weekend Lila has a business meeting here at the house to try and increase her profits a little more for service to you and our Lord Jaganatha Deities.

Lila is a master cake baker and decorator as well as a Wilton teacher and works at a big cake shop in town. Our health is very good these days and I am picking up on my saddhana and getting close to the quality and purity of my wifes’. I had to get rid of my old truck last year as it was 20 years old but we have a very nice Toyota Yaris and use that to take Lord Jaganataha to the Rathayatra site every year to ride in our little Rathayatra cart. The children love it and we are the lead cart in the big parade. I have finally gotten around to reading the Caitanya Caritamrta and am reading part two of the Adi-lila. I always make notes for my studies. Srila Prabhupada, your books are beyond description and so much fun to read. We will never be able to thank you enough. By the way, I am ordering one case of original 1972 Gitas a month as well as a case of original TLC’s for distribution later. Sometimes when people come over we sell them some copies as well.

We had about a week of some very nasty weather but today, Sunday, the sun is up and the temperature is climbing. Well I have to go now and get started on my japa rounds, I am behind the time. We are hoping to be able to write you at least once a month and will send you photos from time to time of our deities and our home and garden.

All glories to your lotus feet.

    Dear Srila Prabhupada.
Please accept my humble obeisance’s all glories to your lotus feet.

My wife Lila has all but completed the planting of our seeds for the vegetable garden and we are waiting anxiously for the weather to warm up to get them into the garden. Our health is very good these days but is still getting over the latest cold that has been going around. I have been able to order enough Gita and TLC cases to last the rest of the year. My daily reading has been scarce I am afraid due to some minor but irritable illness. Much better now and did not take any time off work. We are making arrangements this week for all the service we must get into for the annual Rathayatra festival here in Toronto, we are always very excited about getting things underway. Today is Mothers Day as you know and my step son Vibhu came by with his son to visit my wife and I. It was a wonderful surprise.

The little back deck has been cleaned and prepped for you. I don’t think I mentioned that our temple room carpet has been replaced with wood laminate flooring now. It is first class now and nice and clean for our grandson Khana to crawl around on.

Well we must get back into the kitchen and catch up on some morning chores. We heard that Nityananda Dasa has relocated New Jayapur to Fiji and the project is going very well.

Thank you so much Srila Prabhupada for your most valuable time, I know how busy you can be these days. Talk to you again soon.

    Poem

    Hare Nam Rush Hour

Whenever the name could wash away
The dust of hours gone by
The party was there at rush hour
To give the souls a try

    The holy name of Krishna
At all transit stops each day
    Sung by His devotees
    Always wash the blues away

    Melodies, with sweet sway cushioned
    All of the days demands
    Bringing tides of love
From the devotees hearts and hands

    Holding over the night time
    Hare Krishna holds them all
    Until the morning rush hour
When they rush to hear the call

    The Guru Disciple Interrelationship.
Srila Prabhupada is the direct representative of Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead and he is also the direct representative of his bona fide disciples. His bona fide disciples have the great responsibility of fulfilling the obligations of being represented by Srila Prabhupada by acting as Srila Prabhupada would in regular relationship with his disciples. It therefore behooves Srila Prabhupadas disciples to assist daily as much as possible in the lives of their God brothers
and God sisters. Not neglectful or silent regarding the concerns and the activities of those previously mentioned. It is not just Srila Prabhupada’s divine position that is to be regularly understood and appreciated but our own divine position as responsible disciples to act as he does for the benefit of all peoples of the world.
