Some proofs from Srila Prabhupada that the
Macmillan 1972 Edition is the “only original” edition

Compiled by Yasodanandan Prabhu

Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is. We do not change. We have no power to change. Then where is the authority of Bhagavad-gītā? I am a third-class man, and if I change the statements in the Bhagavad-gītā, then where is the authority of Bhagavad-gītā? That is going on. Therefore it is practically . . . you have got experience that there are hundreds of Bhagavad-gītā edition in the Western countries, but because we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, our sale is better than all others.

There is the report from the trade manager of Macmillan Company. He says: “While other editions are dwindling, going down, this edition is coming up.” They published our this present enlarged edition of Bhagavad-gītā, fifty thousand in the month of August. They are going to print again, second edition, August, September, October. So the reason is that if we present things as they are, it will be accepted. Without any adulteration.

Sometimes, you know, people say that I have done miracles. They say everywhere. But I do not know anything miracles or magic. If there is any miracle, that miracle is that we present things as they are, that’s all, without any adulteration. So that should be the principle. Present as it is: it will be accepted.  [Lecture SB 01.02.11 – Vrndavana,October 22, 1972]

“Now, now let us report. This morning one of our devotee has come from . . . Śyāmasundara, from London. Now our this Bhagavad-gītā As It Is is the topmost selling book in London. All the booksellers, Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. So Macmillan Company is our publisher, and within one year they have published three editions, fifty thousand each. So real thing will have real value. One professor of religion from London University came to see me. He said: “Now we have rejected Dr. Radhakrishnan’s Bhagavad-gītā.” He said.”  [Lecture BG 13.08-12, BOMBAY – September 30, 1973]

They even rejected Radhakrishnan’s Gita, which shows that this is the original edition that Srila Prabhupada wants. He also says “real thing will have real value”, so we know that the 1972 edition is the real copy.

Prabhupāda: Yes, let me finish, that . . . We are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, and it is being accepted all over the world. People are very much, those who are scholars, they say that even Radhakrishnan and Aurobindo, they presented Bhagavad-gītā, making some compromise with the Western ideas. But here is presentation of Bhagavad-gītā in India’s original, traditional way. So they welcome it. And this is our, I mean to say, object also, that we cannot allow Bhagavad-gītā to be understood by anyone’s imagination. No. That is not possible. And that is not allowed in the Bhagavad-gītā by the author. Kṛṣṇa says in the Fourth Chapter that as soon as the paramparā system of understanding is lost, then the whole thing is lost. In the Fourth Chapter it is said. (aside:) Find out Fourth Chapter.   [Interview-CHANDIGARH – October 16, 1976]

The authorized edition of Bhagavad-gita will help to stop the terrible
cheating of ‘gurus’ and ‘yogis’ who are false and unauthorized

Letter to: Svarupa, Ranadhira, Mayapur-3 February, 1976, Los Angeles

My dear Svarupa and Ranadhira,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to thank you for your letter dated January 30th, 1976 with the important enclosures.

The membership pamphlet is very nicely done. That you have got $20,000 in 1975 from the members is certainly very noteworthy. Develop the program more if the results are so good. Also, along with the pamphlet and The K.C. Movement Is Authorized you can send our book catalog. Then the philanthropists will be able to purchase our books.

The reviews have very much encouraged me. Especially those of Prof. Bhatt and Prof. Vajpeye. I have personally written a letter of thanks to Dr. Bhatt, that he has so much encouraged me. Dr. Vajpeye’s review we are going to print and widely distribute, especially in Bombay and Madras, where there is so much propaganda from these bogus gurus and yogis. He has got practical experience of how they are cheating the innocent people in foreign countries and he has written; “The authorized edition of Bhagavad-gita will help to stop the terrible cheating of ‘gurus’ and ‘yogis’ who are false and unauthorized.”

I hope this meets you well.
Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Note: This is a particular well written letter by Srila Prabhupada who repeats what some Indian scholar has written about Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita -as it is- So we can see from this how Isk’Con has ruined the movement for so many years and here in this one letter it is summed up , for one reason, why this has taken place. The bogus gurus and swamis of which there are many worldwide in this age of Kali, have taken it upon themselves to change the words of the Acarya Srila Prabhupada just to suit their whims for name fame and prestige.

MAY 9 1975 Perth

Gaṇeśa: Śrīla Prabhupāda, if the knowledge was handed down by the saintly kings, evaṁ paramparā-prāptam [Bg. 4.2], how is it that the knowledge was lost?

Prabhupāda: When it was not handed down. Simply understood by speculation. Or if it is not handed down as it is. They might have made some changes. Or they did not hand it down. Suppose I handed it down to you, but if you do not do that, then it is lost. Now the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is going on in my presence. Now after my deparature, if you do not do this, then it is lost. If you go on as you are doing now, then it will go on. But if you stop… (end)

Morning Walk — September 2, 1976, New Delhi
Lokanātha: …five thousand years back, until now, there’s only thirty ācāryas…

Prabhupāda: Chain is broken when there are false spiritual masters. Otherwise it is not broken. Chain is broken if a so-called spiritual master speaks something manufactured. Then the chain is broken. Otherwise chain is not broken.

Below is an article by a devotee who explains how the Caitanya Caritamrta was changed to “fit the iskcon situation” as we know it today

Leaving one or both “initiated”s will strongly imply that the use of the phrases “direct disciple” and even “accepted [as his disciple]” indicate formal initiation as we know it in ISKCON, which is far from the truth.” (BBT Editor, Dravida Das)

Some Conclusions–Because iskcon has made so many offenses to Srila Prabhupada beginning with his books and his disciples, iskcon today is in a total meltdown of spiritual potency.

The BBT could not allow Srila Prabhupada to teach that Jagannatha Dasa Babaji actually *initiated* Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, for that would indirectly sanction Srila Prabhupada *initiating* for many generations to come simply via his transcendental knowledge, with the ‘formal initiation’ administered via the Ritvik system that he set up.

We highlighted previously in newsletter No. 20, how Bhakti Caru Swami’s Bengali translation of the Srimad Bhagavatam had omitted a very key verse from Srila Prabhupada’s original version. The omitted verse in question would itself have destroyed the GBC’s position that they were duly authorised to be Diksa Gurus in ISKCON. This of course was shocking, since it showed that Srila Prabhupada’s books were being ‘edited’ not to bring them closer to the originals as claimed, but rather doctored to prop up the GBC’s bogus Guru philosophy.

Though we had also been aware of many other controversial changes made to Srila Prabhupada’s books, the BBT had always claimed that they were made to actually correct ‘errors’ made by Srila Prabhupada’s ‘hippie’ editors. Thus they were not actually changing Srila Prabhupada’s books, but Hayagriva’s ‘incorrect version’ of the books, and thereby actually RESTORING the books BACK to how Srila Prabhupada actually wanted them. However, thanks to the diligent efforts of His Grace Dhira Govinda Prabhu, the Chairman of the ISKCON Office of Child Protection, we now have evidence that the current BBT, which is controlled by GBC supporters, are making changes motivated slowly by the desire to doctor Srila Prabhupada’s books so that they fit in with whatever happens to be the prevailing view instituted in ISKCON by the GBC.

Some time back many devotees had noticed that the new 9 Volume edition of the Caitanya Caritamrta had made a deliberate change from Srila Prabhupada’s original version, not unlike the one made by Bhakti Caru Swami mentioned earlier. Srila Prabhupada’s Caitanya Caritamrta states the following:

“Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura accepted Srila Jagannatha dasa Babaji, who *initiated* Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who in turn initiated Srila Gaurakisora dasa Babaji”

(C:C, Chapter 1)

In the new BBT doctored 9-volume edition, the same passage reads:

“Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura accepted Srila Jagannatha dasa Babaji, the spiritual master of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who in turn accepted Srila Gaurakisora dasa Babaji”

In other words it has been decided that contrary to what Srila Prabhupada states, Jagannatha Das Babaji did not really INITIATE Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura after all. Now the reason for the BBT changing Srila Prabhupada’s teaching here is very significant since the GBC maintain that the relationship between Jagannatha Das Babaji and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura was based not on ‘formal initiation’ but rather only on the transmission of transcendental knowledge’. Once it is accepted that the transmission of divine transcendental knowledge ALONE constitutes INITIATION – then the objections made by the GBC to the Ritvik system of initiation crumble, since Srila Prabhupada could also *initiate* us with transcendental knowledge.

Thus the BBT could not allow Srila Prabhupada to teach that Jagannatha Dasa Babaji actually *initiated* Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, for that would indirectly sanction Srila Prabhupada *initiating* for many generations to come simply via his transcendental knowledge, with the ‘formal initiation’ administered via the Ritvik system that he set up. In any case the teaching given by Srila Prabhupada above is totally consistent with what Srila Prabhupada has taught about Diksa and initiation in the Caitanya Caritamrta itself:

“Diksa actually means *initiating* a disciple *with transcendental knowledge* by which he becomes freed from all material contamination.” (Madhya-lila, 4:112, Purport)

Of course just the very fact that the BBT is deliberately changing the main legacy left by Srila Prabhupada – his teachings – is horrendous enough.

However the fact that it was done specifically to keep the positions of the GBC within the crumbling Guru system intact, is totally shameful.

But just when you though it could not get any worse, it does. For the BBT have now become so arrogant in their campaign against Srila Prabhuada’s teachings, that they have even tried to JUSTIFY this change. Dravida Das, the BBT editor, upon being asked by Dhira Govinda Prabhu to justify the change, first sums up the reason for NOT changing Srila Prabhupada’s teachings as follows:

“On the side of not changing the “initiated” phrases we have the strong bias against changing the books unless absolutely necessary and the fact that Srila Prabhupada did indeed say that Jagannatha das Babaji initiated Bhaktivinode.”

(BBT Editor, Dravida Das)

Please note that Dravida clearly ADMITS that Srila Prabhupada “DID indeed say that Jagannatha das Babaji initiated Bhaktivinode”.

To any sane person, this would be the ONLY reason required to NOT tamper with Srila Prabhupada’s teachings in any manner whatsoever. But hold on.

Dravida Das has a reason that far outweighs a mere detail such as what Srila Prabhupada himself actually taught. Rather he states we must change Srila Prabhupada’s teachings to ensure they conform with what is currently understood within ISKCON in regards to initiation:

Leaving one or both “initiated”s will strongly imply that the use of the phrases “direct disciple” and even “accepted [as his disciple]” indicate formal initiation as we know it in ISKCON, which is far from the truth.” (BBT Editor, Dravida Das)

Dravida then adds that this reason was paramount in justifying the change:

This last was the weightiest argument, in my view, for changing the passage.

(BBT Editor, Dravida Das)

Thus to summarise, what Dravida is saying is this: That whenever Srila Prabhupada’s teachings differ from the way ‘we know it in ISKCON’, then they must be changed to conform with the way we DO ‘know it in ISKCON’. And of course the way ‘we know it in ISKCON’ is dictated by whatever ridiculous philosophy the GBC happens to be preaching at the time.

So the fact that we have had a bogus Guru system imposed on us in ISKCON by the GBC means that even though we may find that Srila Prabhupada teaches something else, we must modify Srila Prabhupada’s teachings to agree with the way things are understood in ISKCON. Instead of changing the practices and understanding of ISKCON to conform with Srila Prabhupada’s teachings – which of course is what a spiritual society based on following Srila Prabhupada would do. Not only is it bad enough that ISKCON is NOT run according to Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, but now Srila Prabhupada’s teachings must also be changed to fit in with the way we happen to be doing things in ISKCON.

What makes this shocking state of affairs even more ludicrous is that the way things are ‘known in ISKCON’ are themselves constantly changing anyway.

1) Thus from 1978-onwards, in ISKCON we ‘knew’ one thing in regards to the process of initiation – that you could ONLY take it from 11 people, and then ONLY whichever of the 11 people ‘owned’ your geographical area.

2) Then from 1986 we ‘knew’ something else about initiation – that you could take it from many others providing they had received the necessary number of votes.

3) Now we ‘know’ something else – that whoever you get initiated from, do not forget that you must not worship him too much and that Srila Prabhupada is also doing some important things, and indeed maybe even more important than the person who does initiate us.

4) And what’s the betting that this ‘understanding’ will also change in the next year or so?

5) And just because we happen to ‘know’ at the moment that initiation must mean the ‘formal ceremony’, therefore any teaching in Srila Prabhupada’s books that imply otherwise must be doctored.

And this is a very sinister development for yet another reason. For this justification is laying the ground for making ANY further change to Srila Prabhupada’s teachings that the GBC deems fit. Thus in the future if it is ‘known in ISKCON’ that ‘women are as intelligent as men’ say, then we will be able to alter all of Srila Prabhupada’s statements where he says that women are less intelligent, since then it would not conform with the way things are ‘known in ISKCON’. Or if in the future we begin to ‘know in ISKCON’ that Lord Siva is just as worshipable as Krishna say, then whenever we encounter the word ‘Demi-God’ in Srila Prabhupada’s books, then all those instances must be changed. And so on.

Of course someone may argue that the philosophy as ‘we know it in ISKCON’ will never change and will always be faithful to Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, and the above fear is unfounded. (Of course Pigs May Also Fly).

If the last 23 years is anything to go by, the only thing we can say with certainty is that the GBC will ALWAYS be deviating from Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, and the ONLY SAFEGUARD WE HAVE IS SRILA PRABHUPADA’S TEACHINGS.

And once we change Srila Prabhupada’s teachings to fit in with whatever nonsense we happen to believe, then all will be lost – as seems to be happening now.

How much longer must we put up this with this madness that is leading to the destruction of Srila Prabhupada’s movement. No wonder devotees, life members and members of the public, are turning to support the IRM in their droves. (From: Adridharana Dasa, Temple President ISKCON Calcutta)

Jayadvaita confirms establishment of Bhagavad Gita is done
by Srila Prabhupada. So what is the need to revise it?

Please find a very important conversation where Jayadvaita states that establishment of Bhagavad Gita as it is [1972 edition] is done by Srila Prabhupada.

NOW WHAT IS THE NEED TO REVISE IT?

Srila Prabhupāda: So this is the position. The whole Vṛndāvana is full of Māyāvādīs. We have to be very, very cautious and careful. I was there. That Brahmānanda protested against that Aurobindo. And then “Don’t speak of Gītā.”

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Yes, that’s what they told him.

Jayādvaita: They shouldn’t speak of Gītā. They should speak of whatever other thing they want.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Then why call it Gītā-pratiṣṭhāna?
Jayādvaita: That’s Prabhupāda’s promise. He’s establishing Bhagavad-gītā.

Srila Prabhupāda: Eh?

Jayādvaita: The actual establishment of Bhagavad-gītā is being done by Your Divine Grace. They should admit that, “We have our philosophy, but as far as Bhagavad-gītā goes, Śrīla Prabhupāda is establishing it all over the world. We have something else, our own idea.” They can say that.

Srila Prabhupāda: Now find out the way how to stop this class of men speaking in our halls.
[Room Conversation 1-VRNDAVAN – November 03, 1977 ]

This shows that the Bhagavad Gita as it is  1972  edition] was and is already potent enough and its establishment is already done, so there is no need for its editing.

This is a solid proof that shows the editors themselves knew that 72 edition was the only bona fide original established edition. So what is the need to revise it?

Srila Prabhupada Receives the First Big 1972 Original Bhagavad Gita As It Is

Srila Prabhupada Receives the First Big 1972 Original Bhagavad Gita As It Is

Srila Prabhupada: There are many editions in your country. There are many editions. All of them are selling nicely. Our Bhagavad-gītā, Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, the latest report is from the trades manager of Macmillan Company, who are our publisher. The report is that our Bhagavad-gītā As It Is is increasing in sale, others are decreasing. The reason is that we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, without any adulteration. Anything, market, if the commodity is pure… Gold, if it is pure, it has more customers. Milk, if it is pure, it has got more customers. So that we are finding. Because we are presenting Bhagavad-gītā as it is, we are finding more customers. So, this is the fame. And, yaśasaḥ śriyaḥ. Śriyaḥ, beauty. Kṛṣṇa is Himself very beautiful, and all His associates are very beautiful. That is also opulence. [Lecture—Los Angeles, May 18, 1972]

Srila Prabhupada Receives the First Big 1972 Original Bhagavad Gita As It Is
by Nanda Kumar Das

One day, when I was first with His Divine Grace in L.A., Brahmananda Prabhu came from New York and they were talking about the printing of a Bhagavad Gita with Sanskrit included. Evidently, there was a question as to whether the western people could pronounce the transliteration with diacritic marks.

Srila Prabhupad rang his bell, and I came into his room. Brahmananda was there. Srila Prabhupad handed me a paper with Sanskrit transliteration and said “Read this!” I have been able to read since I was three, so evidently, I made the pronunciations close enough. Srila Prabhupad said to Brahmananda, with great enthusiasm, “See! I told you they could do it!” He was very happy.

So the printing went on, and in New York, when His Divine Grace was there, Brahmananda brought in the first edition of the big Gita with all the Sanskrit in it. Remembering the LA experience, he very kindly gave the Gita to me, and said “Here, you can give this to Srila Prabhupad.” I was overjoyed, and went to His room to offer it to Him, followed by a photographer. I gave it to Him and said “Here is the first copy of Your new Bhagavad Gita, Srila Prabhupad.”

In His amazing way of innocence and childlike excitement, He took it and held it to His head, saying “Jai! Jai!” It was awesome to be present for such an important and empowering moment. Srila Prabhupad was so kind to me. Even though I was/am a deeply entrenched rascal, He has engaged me so many times in wonderful service. All Glories to Srila Prabhupad!

    Dear Prabhuji,

Hare Krishna 🙏 Please accept my humble obeisance!

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada ( His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedhanta Swami and His unbroken pragmatic gurus above up until Lord Gauranga Mahaprabhu Himself).

My humble opinion is that before all their erudite scholars and Guru Maharajas,
None (not even the so-called 11 GBC “heads” and their “tails” have any
authority to even change a “word” of what His Divine Grace had left for
unintelligent fools like us. Even though there were spelling mistakes
or so-called “typo errors” during publishing, that should be accepted

As It Is , for these writings are by An Exalted Divine Realised Personality.

and none has the authority or right to “change” or “interpret” in
    whichever nonsensical way they like.

Thanks for this post prabhu and for the true 1972-Edition of Bhagavat Gita As It Is.
I had downloaded this original authentic edition as a portable document format (pdf).

I am thankful to you for exposing all the nonsensical stuff going on in the name of “ISKCON”

  2. Charles Dowson says:

    Great presentation.

Now with all of the troubles going on just in the USA this year is there any evidence that this Book Of Hope the Bhagavad Gita As It Is has rescued the suffering souls? I am not concerned about book numbers. That we are not these bodies is the main message of the Gita. So the understanding is that no one in the population is being taught this knowledge to study by any of us. So where is the progress in that direction for the suffering masses that is having an effect on the hearts and minds of those Srila Prabhupada wants to help?

We have heard ad hominem about whether this Gita is bona fide or not. What we have not been presented with is the identities and locations of active international and national teachers who are teaching this most important knowledge. There should at least be a location on this site that can present testimonials from those benefiting from the Gita and bona fide teachers.

Real proof that this Gita is the original would be original effects on the people themselves who are presented with it by real teachers.

    The Book Of Hope.
    No other book compares.

Please accept my humble obeisances all glories to Srila Prabhupada.
The Bhagavad Gita As It Is ( original ) is surely the only real Book Of Hope for the world.
Re read this last verse of Chapter Seven Knowledge of The Absolute. Glorious!

Chapter 7: Knowledge of the Absolute

    TEXT 30

    sadhibhutadhidaivam mam
    sadhiyajnam ca ye viduh
    prayana-kale ‘pi ca mam
    te vidur yukta-cetasah
    SYNONYMS

    sa-adhibhūta—the governing principle of the material manifestation; adhidaivam—underlying all the demigods; mām—Me; sa-adhiyajñam—sustaining all sacrifices; ca—and; ye—those; viduḥ—know; prayāṇa—of death; kāle—at the time; api—even; ca—and; mām—Me; te—they; viduḥ—know; yukta-cetasaḥ—with steadfast mind.

    TRANSLATION

Those who know Me as the Supreme Lord, as the governing principle of the material manifestation, who know Me as the one underlying all the demigods and as the one sustaining all sacrifices, can, with steadfast mind, understand and know Me even at the time of death.

    PURPORT

Persons acting in Kṛṣṇa consciousness are never entirely deviated from the path of understanding the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In the transcendental association of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, one can understand how the Supreme Lord is the governing principle of the material manifestation and even of the demigods. Gradually, by such transcendental association, one becomes convinced of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, and at the time of death such a Kṛṣṇa conscious person can never forget Kṛṣṇa. Naturally he is thus promoted to the planet of the Supreme Lord, Goloka Vṛndāvana.

  3. Mahesh Raja says:

**Unauthorised changes to Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-Gita made by Jayadwaita swami**

Note: spot the difference between the old version and the new.
Here he has inserted **souls** and **they**
Bg 4.34 (new version by Jayadwaita swami)
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized **souls** can impart knowledge unto you because **they** have seen the truth.

Note: here he has ADDED a text which was NEVER there in the original.
**Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in
    spiritual life.**
PURPORT Bg 4.34 (new version by Jayadwaita swami)
The Bhagavatam (6.3.19) says dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: the path of religion is directly enunciated by the Lord. Therefore, mental
speculation or dry arguments cannot help lead one to the right path. **Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in spiritual life.** One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge.

Bg 4.34 ( Srila Prabhupada’s Original untampered version)
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized **soul**can impart knowledge unto you because **he** has seen the truth.
    PURPORT
The Bhagavatam (6.3.19) says, dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam–the path of religion is directly enunciated by the Lord. Therefore, mental
speculation or dry arguments cannot help one progress in spiritual life. One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge.

The changes made are **very significant** because they change the
    **entire** meaning of the text.
Diksa (transcendental Knowledge) is imparted by one self-realized
    person–the acarya (Srila Prabhupada)
It is **one singular** person uttama-adhikari( Srila Prabhupada) that transmits diksa (see antya 4.192-4.194) into the madhyama-adhikaris heart. Krishna’s pastimes reflected in the heart of Prabhupada are transmitted (televised) in the Madhyama-adhikari’s heart when he chants offenselessly —this is transcendental knowledge(diksa).
Therefore the plural words “The self-realized **souls** can impart
knowledge unto you because **they** have seen the truth” are totally
incorrect. The clever manipulation OF WORD JUGGLERY “they” means Jayadwaita swami wants to IMPOSE a new breed of so called INITIATING gurus in ISKCON—in spite of Srila Prabhupada’s clear instruction of July 9 1977 letter to the society of order to institute a Ritvik system (which incidently was NEVER revoked by Srila Prabhupada). The bogus initiating gunda “guru” brutes dismentled Srila Prabhupada’s system.

    Adi 1.35
A devotee **must** have only **one initiating spiritual master** because in the scriptures acceptance of more than one is always forbidden.

Next change, the ADDED text in the purport.
**Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in
    spiritual life.**

Srila Prabhupada’s books are not ordinary books of knowledge. Therefore this change is totally meaningless and unjustified. This are** not**
    Prabhupada’s words in the Bhagavad-Gita.
Here it appears Jayadwaita swami is trying to manipulate the devotees into searching for a “guru” of the concocted 2/3 majority votes. Is it not?

Srila Prabhupada and his books are not different.
    Adi-lila 1-35
There is **no difference between the spiritual master’s instructions and the spiritual master himself**. in his absence, therefore, his words of direction should be the pride of the disciple.
Note: Srila Prabhupada’s words of direction—-Srimad-Bhagavatam there is no difference between Srila Prabhupada’s Instruction and himself (the uttama-adhikari is powerful to give diksa from his books).

    SB 1.7.22
The spiritual master, **by his words**, can penetrate into the heart of the suffering person and **inject knowledge transcendental**, which alone can extinguish the fire of material existence.
    SB 2.9.8
the potency of transcendental sound is **never minimised** because the
    vibrator is **apparently absent**.

  5. Charles Dowson says:

Prabhupada: “Authentic, Scholarly and Self Evident”‏
So why would His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada the author of all his books which he confirmed were dictated to him by the Supreme Personality of Godhead leave his books open to endless changes from conditioned souls?
    He didn’t.
The result now is more than evident that if these endless illegal changes continue all of his books co-authored by Krsna will in the future no longer exist. The only books left will be derivitives of the originals or books created from original books. Those derivative literatures would and already do for the most part dilute the original philosophy as presented by Lord Caitanya and Srila Prabhupada. That is enough to re direct the participant reader to focus on the organization of ISKCON scribes as the focus of worship simply due to impoverished irregular essays and extremely rare treatise presented to an already innocently ignorant congregation and public. This ongoing redirection is impersonalism which is a direct representation of the Mayavadi phiosophy as present by Sripad Sankarachary. To engage in an action such as book changes by ISKCON to the point at which they are now at without direct specific instructions from the author for each and every approach is to molest the author and attempt to degrade him to the level at which the book changers feel should be his real position. A position which they have recognized their whole lives in secret. One with Srila Prabhupada and one with Krsna, clearly the ISKCON leadership is Mayavadi to the hilt which means it an atheist leadership. Srila Prabhupada and Krsnas books are Vedānta-sūtra.
From Text 127 of the Adi-lila Chapter 7 on page 121 from the purport Srila Prabhupada and Krsna teach us and give us a further understanding and appreciation of the very serious damage being done by the BBT and ISKCON leadership not only to Srila Prabhupadas and Krsnas books but to the Hare Krishna movement as a whole.

“The falsity of Śrīpāda Śaṅkarācārya’s explanation of vivarta-vāda and pariṇāma-vāda has been detected by the Vaiṣṇava ācāryas, especially Jīva Gosvāmī, whose opinion is that actually Śaṅkara did not understand the Vedānta-sūtra. In Śaṅkara’s explanation of one sūtra, ānanda-mayo ’bhyāsāt, he has interpreted the affix mayaṭ with such word jugglery that this very explanation proves that he had little knowledge of the Vedānta-sūtra but simply wanted to support his impersonalism through the aphorisms of the Vedānta philosophy. Actually, however, he failed to do so because he could not put forward strong arguments. In this connection, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī cites the phrase brahma pucchaṁ pratiṣṭhā (Taittirīya Upaniṣad 2.5), which gives Vedic evidence that Brahman is the origin of everything. In explaining this verse, Śrīpāda Śaṅkarācārya interpreted various Sanskrit words in such a way that he implied, according to Jīva Gosvāmī, that Vyāsadeva had very little knowledge of higher logic. Such unscrupulous deviation from the real meaning of the Vedānta-sūtra has created a class of men who by word jugglery try to derive various indirect meanings from the Vedic literatures, especially the Bhagavad-gītā. One of them has even explained that the word kurukṣetra refers to the body. Such interpretations imply, however, that neither Lord Kṛṣṇa nor Vyāsadeva had a proper sense of word usage or etymological adjustment. They lead one to assume that since Lord Kṛṣṇa could not personally sense the meaning of what He was speaking and Vyāsadeva did not know the meaning of what he was writing, Lord Kṛṣṇa left His book to be explained later by the Māyāvādīs. Such interpretations merely prove, however, that their proponents have very little philosophical sense.
Etymology is the study of the sources of words as well as their development

In all of my other books-Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Isopanisad, etc-the system is that I give the original verse, its English transliterations, word-for-word sanskrit-english equivalents, translations and purports. This makes the book very authentic and scholarly and makes the meaning self evident.

  6. Amar Puri says:

Rajkumar AC Prabhu says ; ” ……. and none has the authority or right to “change” or “interpret” in
whichever nonsensical way they like. ”

No doubt, the above cited inference is absolutely correct for all of those who have no any material motive of their own.

However, for others who do have certain motive of their own such as Self made gurus of all kinds in the present Iskcon Management, it becomes absolutely imperative for their team of management to bring about changes in the writing of our Jagat Guru His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada which does not serve their purpose simply in the name of corrections of Srila Prabhupada’s writing.

That is their side of the story which is abundantly clear to understand that they can not run their guru business without bringing about necessary changes in the Srila Prabhupada’s VANI to best suit their guru position in the world wide occupied Iskcon established by His Divine Grace Himself..

Otherwise, why some body will bring change in the writing of the Author unless some one has personal interest ( motive ). It is very clear. Isn’t it ?

Now someone may see or no see the changes, and goes on accepting it according to ones’ own personal perception of an agenda of the guru business. That’s is the problem.

To spread the Holy Name of the Lord without any material motive, Srila Prabhupada’s disciples and followers world wide carry forward His Divine Grace VANI As It Is and share it to every one indiscriminately according to ones’ own ability and capability individually and collectively in the like minded group of Srila Prabhupada’s followers.

That is very much desirable by all the followers of Srila Prabhupada ki Jaya.

All Glories to the Srila Prabhupada’s sincere and serious disciples / followers world wide.

..”Without seeing Kṛṣṇa, your eyes are blind, your senses are imperfect. Therefore it is said that

“Self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.” Go on.”

HDG. Srila Prabhupada Bhagavad Gita Lecture, [Bg. 4.34], Los Angeles, California, USA. January 12,
    1969].

Please note, Dear Readers, that Srila Prabhupada himself speaks “he has seen the truth” in a Lecture.

Srila Prabhupada; “And what is that submission? “Render service unto him.” Try to please him by satisfying him, by service. Yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādaḥ , you singing. If he is pleased, then you know Kṛṣṇa is pleased. And if he is displeased, then there is no other way. This is the process, submissive. “The self-realized soul can impart knowledge.” And because you have to select spiritual master, a self-realized soul… Just like if you want to study particular subject matter, you have to approach a realized person, a perfect person. Then you get. “The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.”

One who has not seen the truth, he cannot.”…

    Tattva-darsinah
    BY: MAHESH RAJA

Jan 22, UK (SUN) — In response to Mahavidya prabhu’s article, “Seeing God” I would like to comment:

Many millions of people especially in India go to temples to see the Deity — that is also seeing God. But that seeing and a Maha-Bhagavata (Spiritual Master) seeing is different. The dual compound word Tattva-darsinah is used in relationship to the bonafide Spiritual Master — who factually SEES Krsna.

Maha-Bhagavata actually sees nothing but Krsna. And Krsna reciprocates with him. A conditioned soul can see the Deity but the Deity does not talk with him. An uttama adhikari, the bonafide Guru, can see and talk with the Deity. He FACTUALLY SEES KRSNA. He experiences Krsna always. Within an atom, within his heart, everywhere he sees Krsna. He sees nothing but Krsna 24 hrs. This is the Prema stage.

Fake GBC voted conditioned soul bogus “gurus” in ISKCON and Gaudiya Math conditioned soul “gurus” are not realized to have direct perception. Srila Prabhupada, the bonafide Guru, could speak with anyone and challenge anyone and defeat them — Krishna was speaking and controlling his speech thru him — this is so obvious. He was seeing Krsna personally at every moment and he had no fear to speak with anyone, unlike the bogus self made gurus.

Not one of these so-called gurus manufactured by the bogus GBC or Gaudiya Math are able to come and debate on this website. Krishna does not talk to them, what to speak of seeing! They are afraid they may get caught out. They can pray some mambo jambo when in front of the Deity — BUT there is NO RECIPROCATION – AT ALL!

Below are just a few examples how a Maha Bhagavata (Spiritual Master) sees:

He was therefore tattva-darsi, a seer of the truth, **because he personally saw** how the Supreme Absolute Truth appeared as his son.

    SB 10.3.14
“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.” Vasudeva begot the Supreme Personality of Godhead, yet he was in full knowledge of how the Supreme Lord appears and disappears. He was therefore tattva-darsi, a seer of the truth, **because he personally saw** how the Supreme Absolute Truth appeared as his son.”

when he **sees** the Lord personally, face to face,

    SB 8.6.9
The Vedic mantras say: yasmin vijnate sarvam evam vijnatam bhavati. When the devotee **sees** the Supreme Personality of Godhead by his meditation, or when he **sees** the Lord personally, face to face, he becomes aware of everything within this universe. Indeed, nothing is unknown to him. Everything within this material world is fully manifested to a devotee who has** seen** the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Bhagavad-gita (4.34) therefore advises:
    tad viddhi pranipatena
    pariprasnena sevaya
    upadeksyanti te jnanam
    jnaninas tattva-darsinah
“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized **soul** can impart knowledge unto you because **he** has seen the truth.”
Lord Brahma is one of these self-realized authorities (svayambhur naradah sambhuh kumarah kapilo manuh). One must therefore accept the disciplic succession from Lord Brahma, and then one can understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead **in fullness**. Here the word visva-murtau indicates that everything exists in the form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One who is able to worship Him can see everything in Him and see Him in everything.

Pratyaksvagamam means direct perception—-Krsna is directly experienced:

    Bg 9.2
    raja-vidya raja-guhyam
    pavitram idam uttamam
    pratyaksavagamam dharmyam
    su-sukham kartum avyayam
This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.

The great devotees relished the taste of unceasing devotional service of the Lord, hearing, chanting, etc., and by developing the same taste, Narada wanted also to hear and chant the glories of the Lord. Thus by associating with the sages, he developed a great desire for devotional service. Therefore, he quotes from the Vedanta-sutra (prakasas ca karmany abhyasat): if one is engaged simply in the acts of devotional service, **everything is revealed to him automatically**, and he can understand. This is called **pratyaksa**, **directly perceived**.

“The word tattva-darsi refers to one who has** perfectly realized** the Supreme personality of Godhead.”

    SB 5.15.4
The word anusasmara is very significant. God consciousness is not imaginary or concocted. The devotee who is pure and advanced realizes God as He is. Maharaja Pratiha did so, and due to his **direct realization of Lord Visnu**, he propagated self-realization and became a preacher. A real preacher cannot be bogus; he must first of all realize Lord Visnu as He is. As confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (4.34), upadeksyanti te jnanam jnaninas tattva-darsinah: “one who has seen the truth can impart knowledge.” The word tattva-darsi refers to one who has** perfectly realized** the Supreme personality of Godhead. Such a person can become a guru and propound Vaisnava philosophy all over the world.

Factually, the spiritually developed person is able to have the television of the kingdom of God always reflected within his heart.

SB 2.9.35 P Answers by Citing the Lord’ s Version
“Therefore, although He is present in every atom, the Supreme Personality of Godhead may not be visible to the dry speculators; still the mystery is unfolded before the eyes of the pure devotees because their eyes are anointed with love of Godhead. And this love of Godhead can be attained only by the practice of transcendental loving service of the Lord, and nothing else. The vision of the devotees is not ordinary; it is purified by the process of devotional service. In other words, as the universal elements are both within and without, similarly the Lord’s name, form, quality, pastimes, entourage, etc., as they are described in the revealed scriptures or as performed in the Vaikunthalokas, far, far beyond the material cosmic manifestation, are factually being televised in the heart of the devotee. The man with a poor fund of knowledge cannot understand, although by material science one can see things far away by means of television. Factually, the spiritually developed person is able to have the television of the kingdom of God always reflected within his heart. That is the mystery of knowledge of the Personality of Godhead.”

When one is on the platform of love of Godhead (prema pumartho mahan) he sees the Supreme Lord at every moment.

SB 6.16.51 P King Citraketu Meets the Supreme Lord
“The science of devotional service has been instructed by Narada and Angira to Citraketu. Now, because of Citraketu’s devotional service, he has seen the Supreme Personality of Godhead. By performing devotional service, one advances step by step, and when one is on the platform of love of Godhead (prema pumartho mahan) he sees the Supreme Lord at every moment. ”

“The devotee who has anointed his eyes with the ointment of love of Godhead always sees the beautiful blackish form of Krsna within his heart.”

    DWT 7 Seeing God within
“The perfect yogi is one who has prema, pure love for Krsna. As the Brahma-samhita (5.38) states, premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santah sadaiva hrdayesu vilokayanti: “The devotee who has anointed his eyes with the ointment of love of Godhead always sees the beautiful blackish form of Krsna within his heart. ” We cannot imagine how beautiful Krsna is. It is said that Krsna’s body is more beautiful than millions of Cupids (kandarpa-koti-kamaniya-visesa-sobham [Bs. 5.30]). Cupid is very beautiful, but even if you place millions of Cupids together, their beauty cannot compare with Krsna’s. These things cannot be understood unless one’s eyes are smeared with the ointment of love of Godhead.

We cannot understand God with our present blunt material senses, which are simply after material gratification. With them how can we perceive Krsna, who is completely spiritual? It is not possible. Therefore we must purify the senses through the process of bhakti:
atah sri-krsna-namadi na bhaved grahyam indriyaih
sevonmukhe hi jihvadau svayam eva sphuraty adah
“No one can understand the transcendental nature of the name, form, qualities, and pastimes of Sri Krsna through his materially contaminated senses. Only when one becomes spiritually saturated by transcendental service to the Lord are the transcendental name, form, qualities, and pastimes of the Lord revealed to him” (Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.2.234). ”

    premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena: only those who have smeared their eyes with the ointment of love of Godhead can see everywhere the Supreme Lord face to face;

SB 4.12.11 P Dhruva Maharaja Goes Back to Godhead
“Not only did Dhruva Maharaja perform many sacrifices, but he carried on his transcendental occupation of engagement in the devotional service of the Lord. The ordinary karmis, who want to enjoy the results of fruitive activities, are concerned only with sacrifices and ritualistic ceremonies as enjoined in the Vedic sastras. Although Dhruva Maharaja performed many sacrifices in order to be an exemplary king, he was constantly engaged in devotional service. The Lord always protects His surrendered devotee. A devotee can see that the Lord is situated in everyone’s heart, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (isvarah sarva-bhutanam hrd-dese ‘rjuna tisthati). Ordinary persons cannot understand how the Supreme Lord is situated in everyone’s heart, but a devotee can actually see Him. Not only can the devotee see Him outwardly, but he can see, with spiritual vision, that everything is resting in the Supreme Personality of Godhead, as described in Bhagavad-gita (mat-sthani sarva-bhutani). That is the vision of a maha-bhagavata. He sees everything others see, but instead of seeing merely the trees, the mountains, the cities or the sky, he sees only his worshipable Supreme Personality of Godhead in everything because everything is resting in Him only. This is the vision of the maha-bhagavata. In summary, a maha-bhagavata, a highly elevated pure devotee, sees the Lord everywhere, as well as within the heart of everyone. This is possible for devotees who have developed elevated devotional service to the Lord. As stated in the Brahma-samhita (5.38), premanjana-cchurita-bhakti- vilocanena: only those who have smeared their eyes with the ointment of love of Godhead can see everywhere the Supreme Lord face to face; it is not possible by imagination or so-called meditation.”

  9. Charles Dowson says:

Right now this is my favorite chapter. Chapter 16.

From text 4 of chapter 16. Here Srila Prabhupada includes as we should ALL CLASSES OF MEN. Not just those in the know. All teachers must reach out to them. We can all teach. So again..I ask.how is that going on right now? Anyone?

“All these sixteen qualifications mentioned are transcendental qualities. They should be cultivated according to the DIFFERENT STATUSES OF THE SOCIAL ORDER. . The purport is that even though material conditions are miserable, IF THESE QUALITIES ARE DEVELOPED BY PRACTICE, BY ALL CLASSES OF MEN, THEN GRADUALLY IT IS POSSIBLE TO RISE TO THE HIGHEST PLATFORM OF TRANSCENDENTAL REALIZATION.

So we must try to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s vision that is is possible for everyone on the planet to rise to the highest platform just like we assume you have.

Just imagine 1000 students studying weekly, accepting Srila Prabhupada as their spiritual master while developing by practice for all classes of people this highest platform of transcendental realization.

Note: Hridayananda wanted to concoct a new breed of Uttama Adhikari as someone who can NOT SEE Lord Krsna everywhere —–so that he and other bogus gurus rubber-stamped in ISKCON can lay their claim to being accepted as Diksa Gurus. In other words, DUPE the innocent. The article below was written many years back exposing the lunacy of Blind Uttama Adhikaris. They wanted to CHANGE Srimad Bhagavatam TO FIT IN with their concoction:

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    The Case for Blind Uttama-adhikaris
    BY: MAHESH RAJA

Jun 03, 2010 — UK (SUN) — Regarding the Sastric Advisory Council’s Gopiparanadhana dasa Adhikari, he was also the commentator with Hridayananda dasa in their corrupt Srimad Bhagavatam purports. A brief analysis to expose just HOW bogus their ‘sastric’ understanding on the position of uttama-adhikari is, is shown below. It appears they are looking for an EXCUSE to present the bogus GBC rubber-stamped “gurus” as uttama-adhikari — the kind of “uttama-adhikari” that can NOT see Krsna everywhere — to justify their existence. So they have chosen to present Narada, Vyasa and Sukadeva as their example role-models by stating they ALSO cannot be uttama-adhikari, because they cannot see Krsna everywhere.

So their TRICK is if Narada, Vyasa and Sukadeva are to be accepted as uttama-adhikari, who they are presuming don’t see Krsna everywhere, then there would be nothing wrong with accepting bogus GBC rubber-stamped “gurus” as uttama-adhikari (who are blind as bats because they DEFINITELY DON’T SEE KRSNA).

    Good Trick?

Hridayananda dasa and Gopiparanadhana dasa’s CRICITICISM AGAINST THE FOLLOWING PURE DEVOTEES:

Canto 11, Chapter 2, Text 45 (on page 148), Hridayananda, Gopiparanadhana write:

“IF ONLY THOSE WHO CONSTANTLY SEE THE FORM OF KRSNA ARE TO BE CONSIDERED UTTAMA-ADHIKARIS,THEN NARADA, VYASA AND SUKADEVA CANNOT BE CONSIDERED TOPMOST DEVOTEES, SINCE THEY DO NOT ALWAYS SEE THE LORD EVERYWHERE”

I have presented the quotes from Srila Prabhupada’s books below, As It Is, and only HIGHLIGHTED particulars. This will enable the reader to compare what Srila Prabhupada writes.

Srimad Bhagavatam 4.31.8 Purport – Narada Instructs the Pracetas:

“In this verse bhagavan naradah indicates that NARADA IS ALWAYS ABSORBED IN THOUGHTS OF THE SUPREME PERSONALITY OF GODHEAD.”

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.6.33 – Conversation Between Narada and Vyasadeva:

“The Supreme Lord Sri Krsna, whose glories and activities are pleasing to hear, AT ONCE APPEARS ON THE SEAT OF MY HEART, AS IF CALLED FOR, AS SOON AS I BEGIN TO CHANT HIS HOLY ACTIVITIES.”

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.6.33 Purport – Conversation Between Narada and Vyasadeva:

“The Absolute Personality of Godhead is not different from His transcendental name, form, pastimes and the sound vibrations thereof. As soon as a pure devotee engages himself in the pure devotional service of hearing, chanting and remembering the name, fame and activities of the Lord, at once He becomes visible to the transcendental eyes of the pure devotee by reflecting Himself on the mirror of the heart by spiritual television. Therefore a pure devotee who is related with the Lord in loving transcendental service can experience the presence of the Lord at every moment. It is a natural psychology in every individual case that a person likes to hear and enjoy his personal glories enumerated by others. That is a natural instinct, and the Lord, being also an individual personality like others, is not an exception to this psychology because psychological characteristics visible in the individual souls are but reflections of the same psychology in the Absolute Lord. The only difference is that the Lord is the greatest personality of all and absolute in all His affairs. If, therefore, the Lord is attracted by the pure devotee’s chanting of His glories, there is nothing astonishing. Since He is absolute, He can appear Himself in the picture of His glorification, the two things being identical. Srila Narada chants the glorification of the Lord not for his personal benefit but because the glorifications are identical with the Lord. Narada Muni penetrates into the presence of the Lord by the transcendental chanting.”

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.18.16 Purport – Maharaja Pariksit Cursed by a Brahmana Boy:

“Maharaja Pariksit was such a maha-bhagavata devotee because he was initiated by a MAHA-BHAGAVATA DEVOTEE, SUKADEVA GOSVAMI.”

Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam, May 27, 1974, Rome:

“So Sukadeva Gosvami learned from his father, VYASADEVA, MAHA-BHAGAVATA, and he realized it, svanubhavam.”

Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Bhagavad-gita, December 6, 1972, Ahmedabad:

“So the…, this is the set-up in the first chapter of the Bhagavad-gita. This is the summary. Now sanjaya uvaca. The Sanjaya is speaking to Dhrtarastra. Sanjaya is seeing the battlefield within his heart. That is another television. And by the grace of Vyasadeva, he learned the art, that he advanced… He was so much advanced that the… Just like we see television, relay from the battlefield, and he, Duryodhana, Dhrtarastra was blind. And his secretary, Sanjaya, he was speaking. He was seeing the activities in the battlefield.”

Srimad Bhagavatam 2.9.35 Purport – Answers by Citing the Lord’s Version:

“Therefore, although He is present in every atom, the Supreme Personality of Godhead may not be visible to the dry speculators; still the mystery is unfolded before the eyes of the pure devotees because their eyes are anointed with love of Godhead. And this love of Godhead can be attained only by the practice of transcendental loving service of the Lord, and nothing else. Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya 8.274 – Talks Between Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Ramananda Raya:

sthavara-jangama dekhe, na dekhe tara murti
    sarvatra haya nija ista-deva-sphurti
    SYNONYMS
    sthavara-jangama–movable and inert; dekhe–he sees; na–not; dekhe–sees; tara–its; murti–form; sarvatra–everywhere; haya–there is; nija–his own; ista-deva–worshipable Lord; sphurti–manifestation.

    TRANSLATION
“The maha-bhagavata, the advanced devotee, certainly sees everything mobile and immobile, but he does not exactly see their forms. Rather, everywhere he immediately sees manifest the form of the Supreme Lord.

    PURPORT
Due to his deep ecstatic love for Krsna, the maha-bhagavata sees Krsna everywhere and nothing else. This is confirmed in the Brahma-samhita (5.38): premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santah sadaiva hrdayesu vilokayanti.

As soon as a devotee sees something–be it movable or inert–he immediately remembers Krsna.”

In conclusion, Gopiparanadhana dasa and Hridayananda das are conditioned souls. They are NOT fit for giving commentaries on Srimad Bhagavatam.

Srila Prabhupada Room Conversation, February 16, 1977, Mayapur:

Hari-sauri: “That man from Delhi said that he thought you were an incarnation of Vyasadeva.
Prabhupada: Yes. Any devotee in literary career, he is to be understood… Just like our Vrndavana dasa Thakura. He is described as incarnation of Vyasadeva because Vyasadeva wrote Bhagavatam and he wrote Caitanya-bhagavata.
    Pradyumna: Vyasa-puja.
Prabhupada: Vyasa-puja. Vyasa-prasadam. Unless one is blessed by Vyasadeva, he cannot write transcendental literature.”

His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada is always consulting Krsna

Srila Prabhupada Interview, July 14, 1976, New York:

Bali-mardana: “In other words, when you decide that someone is to be in charge of a particular temple does Krsna tell you that this person should be in charge.
Interviewer: Or do you by judging him say this person is qualified.
Prabhupada: Yes, because a devotee always consults Krsna and He gives order.
Interviewer: It’s a more direct communication.
Prabhupada: Yes. And He gives order.
Ramesvara: Because intelligence, our philosophy is that intelligence comes from Krsna. So if I have some…
Interviewer: And your philosophy is that your daily necessities come from Krsna as well.
Ramesvara: Yes, try to understand. Suppose my intelligence sees that this person is qualified, that means Krsna has told me.
Prabhupada: No, not necessarily, Krsna will tell directly. A devotee always consults Krsna and Krsna tells him, “do like this.” Not figuratively.
Interviewer: Does that apply then to other kinds of decisions and other kinds of activities as well?
Prabhupada: Everything. Because a devotee does not do anything without consulting Krsna. ”

His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada speaks as Krsna speaks.

    Caitanya-caritamrta Antya 5.71:

“One is forbidden to accept the guru, or spiritual master, as an ordinary human being (gurusu nara-matih). When Ramananda Raya spoke to Pradyumna Misra, Pradyumna Misra could understand that Ramananda Raya was not an ordinary human being. A spiritually advanced person who acts with authority, as the spiritual master, speaks as the Supreme Personality of Godhead dictates from within. Thus it is not he that is personally speaking. When a pure devotee or spiritual master speaks, what he says should be accepted as having been directly spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the parampara system.”

Caitanya-caritamrta Adi 8.39 – The Author Receives the Orders of Krsna and Guru:

“It is not possible for a common man to write books on bhakti, for his writings will not be effective. He may be a very great scholar and expert in presenting literature in flowery language, but this is not at all helpful in understanding transcendental literature. Even if transcendental literature is written in faulty language, it is acceptable if it is written by a devotee, whereas so-called transcendental literature written by a mundane scholar, even if it is a very highly polished literary presentation, cannot be accepted. The secret in a devotee’s writing is that when he writes about the pastimes of the lord, the lord helps him; he does not write himself. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita (10.10), dadami buddhi-yogam tam yena mam upayanti te. Since a devotee writes in service to the Lord, the Lord from within gives him so much intelligence that he sits down near the Lord and goes on writing books. Krsnadasa Kaviraja gosvami confirms that what Vrndavana dasa Thakura wrote was actually spoken by Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and he simply repeated it”.

Srila Prabhupada Lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam, September 26, 1972, Los Angeles:

“So everything is there Srimad-Bhagavatam. That is the topmost knowledge. That is transcendental knowledge. That is not material knowledge. Material knowledge, if you write some book, it has no meaning, because it is defective. But Srimad-Bhagavatam is not ordinary knowledge. It is transcendental knowledge. There is no defect.”

Many like to spend far more time searching and teaching about the content crimes in Srila Prabhupada’s books on this wonderful site instead of spending all that valuable time teaching from the very books they claim to defend.
