Note: What is Bhu-mandala? Bhu-mandala is DUAL COMPOUND word. Bhu means earth and mandala means group. So the Bhu-mandala PLANETARY System means that there are EARTHLY PLANETS grouped together and the total number of these planets is SEVEN (SAPTA).
Our planet is called JAMBUDVIPA is in that GROUP of SAPTA (SEVEN) EARTHLY PLANETS.(1) JAMBU, (2) Saka, (3) Salmali, (4) Kusa, (5) Kraunca, (6) Gomeda, or Plaksa, and (7) Puskara. The word (dvipa) ISLAND is used in this sense because there is OCEAN OF SPACE and the EGG SHAPED PLANETS are floating in that OCEAN OF SPACE. Our planet JAMBUDVIPA is surrounded by SALT water ocean: there are various kinds of oceans in other planets. Somewhere there is an ocean of milk, somewhere there is an ocean of oil, and somewhere there is an ocean of liquor and many other types of oceans.

ALL THE PLANETS AND THE UNIVERSES, THEY ARE EGG SHAPED. THEREFORE they are called ANDA, jagad-ANDA, brahmANDA. So this jagad-ANDA.

When Priyavrata drove his chariot behind the sun, the rims of his chariot wheels created impressions that later became seven oceans, dividing the planetary system known as Bhu-mandala into seven islands.
PURPORT
Sometimes the planets in outer space are called islands. We have experience of various types of islands in the ocean, and similarly the various planets, divided into fourteen lokas, are islands in the ocean of space. As Priyavrata drove his chariot behind the sun, he created seven different types of oceans and planetary systems, which altogether are known as Bhu-mandala, or Bhuloka. In the Gayatri mantra, we chant, om bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur varenyam. Above the Bhuloka planetary system is Bhuvarloka, and above that is Svargaloka, the heavenly planetary system. All these planetary systems are controlled by Savita, the sun-god. By chanting the Gayatri mantra just after rising early in the morning, one worships the sun-god.
SB 5.16.1 P A Description of Jambudvipa
In this verse it is stated that the planetary system known as Bhu-mandala extends to the limits of the sunshine. According to modern science, the sunshine reaches earth from a distance of 93,000,000 miles. If we calculate according to this modern information, 93,000,000 miles can be considered the radius of Bhu-mandala. In the Gayatri mantra, we chant om bhur bhuvah svah. The word bhur refers to Bhu-mandala. Tat savitur varenyam: the sunshine spreads throughout Bhu-mandala. Therefore the sun is worshipable. The stars, which are known as naksatra, are not different suns, as modern astronomers suppose. From Bhagavad-gita (10.21) we understand that the stars are similar to the moon (naksatranam aham sasi). Like the moon, the stars reflect the sunshine. Apart from our modern distinguished estimations of where the planetary systems are located, we can understand that the sky and its various planets were studied long, long before Srimad-Bhagavatam was compiled. Sukadeva Gosvami explained the location of the planets, and this indicates that the information was known long, long before Sukadeva Gosvami related it to Maharaja Pariksit. The location of the various planetary systems was not unknown to the sages who flourished in the Vedic age.

KB 1 Advent of Lord Krsna
In the Vedic mantras, there is a particular type of prayer called Purusa-sukta. Generally, the demigods offer their obeisances unto Visnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, by chanting the Purusa-sukta. It is understood herein that the predominating deity of every planet can see the supreme lord of this universe, Brahma, whenever there is some disturbance in his planet. And Brahma can approach the Supreme Lord Visnu, not by seeing Him directly, but by standing on the shore of the ocean of milk. There is a planet within this universe called Svetadvipa, and on that planet there is an ocean of milk. It is understood from various Vedic literatures that just as there is the ocean of salt water within this planet, there are various kinds of oceans in other planets. Somewhere there is an ocean of milk, somewhere there is an ocean of oil, and somewhere there is an ocean of liquor and many other types of oceans. Purusa-sukta is the standard prayer which the demigods recite to appease the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Ksirodakasayi-Visnu. Because He is lying on the ocean of milk, He is called Ksirodakasayi-Visnu. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, through whom all the incarnations within this universe appear.
KB 89 The Superexcellent Power of Krsna
Seated on His chariot with Arjuna, Krsna began to proceed north, crossing over many planetary systems. These are described in the Srimad-Bhagavatam as SAPTA-DVIPA. Dvipa means island. All these planets, are sometimes described in the Vedic literature as dvipas. THE PLANET ON WHICH WE ARE LIVING IS CALLED JAMBUDVIPA. Outer space is taken as a great ocean of air, and within that great ocean of air there are many islands, which are the different planets. In each and every planet there are oceans also. In some of the planets, the oceans are of salt water, and in some of them there are oceans of milk. In others there are oceans of liquor, and in others there are oceans of ghee or oil. Upendra: “This part of the spiritual sky, called the mahat-tattva, is only an insignificant portion of the whole spiritual sky, and within this mahat-tattva there are innumerable universes. All these universes collectively is produced by the Karanarnavasayi Visnu called also the Maha-Visnu who simply throws His glance only to impregnate the material sky to manifest.” Text 2. Translation: “Another plenary part of the purusa is lying down within the water of the universe from the navel lake of His body which has sprouted the lotus stem (which is the body of the universe) and on the top, from the lotus flower Brahma the master of all engineers of the universe, is generated.” Purport: “The First purusa is the Karanodakasayi Visnu. From the skinholes of Him innumerable universes have sprung up. In each and every one of them the purusa enters as the Garbhodakasayi Visnu. He is lying in half portion of the universe full with water of His body. And from the navel of Garbhodakasayi Visnu has sprung up the stem of the lotus flower the birth place of Brahma who is the father of all living beings and the master of all the demigod engineers engaged in the matter of perfect design and working of the universal order. Within the stem of the lotus there are fourteen divisions of planetary system and the earthly planets are situated in the middle. Upwards there are other better planetary systems and the topmost system is called Brahmaloka or the Satyaloka. Downwards the earthly planetary system there are seven downwards planetary systems domiciled by the asuras and similar other most materialistic living beings. From this Garbhodakasayi Visnu there is expansion of the Ksirodakasayi Visnu who is the collective Paramatma of all living beings. He is called Hari and from Him all incarnations within the universe are expanded.”

At the end of the millennium, the would-be Vaivasvata Manu, of the name Satyavrata, would see that the Lord in the fish incarnation is the shelter of all kinds of living entities, up to those in the EARTHLY PLANETS. Because of my fear of the vast water at the end of the millennium, the Vedas come out of my [Brahmā’s] mouth, and the Lord enjoys those vast waters and protects the Vedas.
PURPORT
During one day of Brahmā there are fourteen Manus, and at the end of each Manu there is devastation up to THE EARTHLY PLANETS, and the vast water is fearful even to Brahmā. So in the beginning of the would-be Vaivasvata Manu, such devastation would be seen by him. There would be many other incidents also, such as the killing of the famous Śaṅkhāsura. This foretelling is by the past experience of Brahmājī, who knew that in that fearful devastating scene, the Vedas would come out of his mouth, but the Lord in His fish incarnation not only would save all living entities, namely the demigods, animals, men and great sages, but would also save the Vedas.

There are three material modes of nature. If you keep yourself in touch with the material modes of nature of goodness, then you will be promoted to the higher standard of life. Urdhvam gacchanti sattva-sthah. Therefore at least, you may enjoy material life, but you should keep yourself to the standard of brahminical culture. Then there is guarantee that you don’t degrade yourself; you get higher status of life in the higher planetary system: Janaloka, Maharloka, Tapoloka, Satyaloka. Then you will get… But if you keep yourself as it is, then you will remain in this planetary system. This is called bhur-loka. Bhur-loka. Om bhur bhuvah svah tat-savituh. You have gayatri-mantra. This is called bhu-loka. Bhuvar-loka. Then, above this, there is bhuvar-loka; then, above this, the heavenly planets. There is system. And if you keep yourself in the association of the modes of ignorance, or foolishness, then you go down. Jaghanya-guna-vrtti-stha adho gacchanti tamasah. Jaghanya-guna. Tamasika means abominable character. The abominable character means these four things: illicit sex, intoxication, meat-eating and gambling. This is tamo-guna, exhibition of tamo-guna. So, if you continue to keep yourself in the association of the modes of ignorance, then you are going to become adhah. Adhah means down. Down means there are many other planetary system. CHAPTER 58
Five Queens Married by Kṛṣṇa
https://vedabase.io/en/library/kb/58/
When Kṛṣṇa brought the bulls under His control by bridling their noses, their strength and pride were immediately smashed. The name and fame which the bulls had attained was thus vanquished. When Kṛṣṇa had the bulls bridled, He pulled them strongly, just as a child pulls a toy wooden bull. Upon seeing this advantage of Kṛṣṇa, King Nagnajit became very much astonished and immediately, with great pleasure, brought his daughter Satyā before Kṛṣṇa and handed her over to Him. Kṛṣṇa also immediately accepted Satyā as His wife. Then there was a marriage ceremony with great pomp. The queens of King Nagnajit were also very much pleased because their daughter Satyā got Kṛṣṇa as her husband. Since the king and queens were very much pleased on this auspicious occasion, there was a celebration all over the city in honor of the marriage. Everywhere were heard the sounds of the conch shell and kettledrum and various other vibrations of music and song. The learned brāhmaṇas showered their blessings upon the newly married couple. In jubilation, all the inhabitants of the city dressed themselves with colorful garments and ornaments. King Nagnajit was so much pleased that he gave a dowry to his daughter and son-in-law, as follows.
First of all he gave them 10,000 cows and 3,000 well-dressed young maidservants, ornamented up to their necks. This system of dowry is still current in India, especially for kṣatriya princes. When a kṣatriya prince is married, at least a dozen maidservants of similar age are given along with the bride. After giving the cows and maidservants, the king enriched the dowry by giving 9,000 elephants and a HUNDRED times more chariots than elephants. This means that he gave 900,000 chariots. And he gave a HUNDRED times more horses than chariots, or 90,000,000 horses, and a HUNDRED times more menservants than horses. Royal princes maintained such menservants and maidservants with all provisions, as if they were their own children or family members. After giving this dowry, the king of Kośala Province bade his daughter and great son-in-law be seated on a chariot and allowed them to go to their home, guarded by a division of well-equipped soldiers. As they traveled fast to their new home, the king’s heart was enlivened with affection for them.

A HUNDRED TIMES MORE MEN SERVANTS THAN 90,000,000 horses makes 90,000,000,000 or NINITY BILLION MEN SERVANTS.

Note: It is obvious from here that there are changes in SIZE according to the age eg Kali-Yuga:
ON COMING OUT OF THE CAVE, MUCUKUNDA SAW THAT THE STATURE OF THE HUMAN SPECIES HAD SURPRISINGLY BEEN REDUCED TO PYGMY SIZE. SIMILARLY, THE TREES HAD ALSO FAR REDUCED IN SIZE, AND MUCUKUNDA COULD IMMEDIATELY UNDERSTAND THAT THE CURRENT AGE WAS KALI-YUGA.
KB 52 Krsna, the Ranacora
When Mucukunda, the celebrated descendant of the Iksvaku dynasty, was favored by Lord Krsna, he circumambulated the Lord within the cave and then came out. Therefore, without diverting his attention, he began to travel north. Eventually he reached the mountain known as Gandhamadana. It appeared there were many trees on this mountain, such as sandalwood and other flower trees, the flavor of which made anyone joyful who reached them. He decided to remain in that Gandhamadana Mountain region in order to execute austerities and penances for the rest of his life. It appears that this place is situated in the northernmost part of the Himalayan Mountains, where the abode of Nara-Narayana is situated.
In the corner of a room, in a big building somewhere, lives a little spider. His building has many floors, an underground carpark and on top a penthouse. In the street there are many such buildings. Opposite, on the other side is a park with lots of trees. At the end of the street runs the underground with it tunnels and below that are the canals of the sewer system. Outside the city there are forests, fields, rivers and lakes. Above, high up the sky, are the luminaries.
When the window is open the little spider can hear the sounds of the cars, the rumbling of the underground trains, feel the breeze of the wind and sometimes he can see illuminating, bright silvery and golden lights.
Occasionally some spider friends come over from the other corner and the other room and together they discuss what all this could be. When they leave he thinks to himself: “They are only little spiders like me, they have not left their rooms too, what is there to learn from them?”
This little spider is right. As for all the professional, detailed, architectural plans of these perfect workings, even when explained by the architect Himself, the little spider will never be able to grasp the complexity, enormity and cohesity in toto and neither can all the other little spiders.

TRANSLATION
The sphere of outer space constitutes His eyepits, and the eyeball is the sun as the power of seeing. His eyelids are both the day and night, and in the movements of His eyebrows, the Brahmā and similar supreme personalities reside. His palate is the director of water, Varuṇa, and the juice or essence of everything is His tongue.
PURPORT
To common sense the description in this verse appears to be somewhat contradictory because sometimes the sun has been described as the eyeball and sometimes as the outer space sphere. But there is no room for common sense in the injunctions of the śāstras. We must accept the description of the śāstras and concentrate more on the form of the virāṭ-rūpa than on common sense. Common sense is always imperfect, whereas the description in the śāstras is always perfect and complete. If there is any incongruity, it is due to our imperfection and not the śāstras’. That is the method of approaching Vedic wisdom.

TRANSLATION
The cow-shaped earth continued: My dear King, I am just like a strong boat, and all the paraphernalia of the world is standing upon me. If you break me to pieces, how can you protect yourself and your subjects from drowning?
PURPORT
Beneath the entire planetary system is the garbha water. Lord Viṣṇu lies on this garbha water, and from His abdomen a lotus stem grows, and all the planets within the universe are floating in the air, being supported by this lotus stem. If a planet is destroyed, it must fall into the water of garbha. The earth therefore warned King Pṛthu that he could gain nothing by destroying her. Indeed, how would he protect himself and his citizens from drowning in the garbha water? In other words, outer space may be compared to an ocean of air, and each and every planet is floating on it just as a boat or island floats on the ocean. Sometimes planets are called dvīpa, or islands, and sometimes they are called boats. Thus the cosmic manifestation is partially explained in this reference by the cow-shaped earth.

TRANSLATION
My dear Lord, in this way You once protected me by rescuing me from the water, and consequently Your name has been famous as Dharādhara—He who holds the planet earth. Yet at the present moment, in the form of a great hero, You are about to kill me with sharpened arrows. I am, however, just like a boat on the water, keeping everything afloat.
PURPORT
The Lord is known as Dharādhara, meaning, “He who keeps the planet earth on His tusks as the boar incarnation.” Thus the planet earth in the shape of a cow is accounting the contradictory acts of the Lord. Although He once saved the earth, He now wants to upset the earth, which is like a boat on water. No one can understand the activities of the Lord. Due to a poor fund of knowledge, human beings sometimes think the Lord’s activities contradictory.

TRANSLATION
O lifter of the earth, the earth with its mountains, which You have lifted with Your tusks, is situated as beautifully as a lotus flower with leaves sustained by an infuriated elephant just coming out of the water.
PURPORT
The fortune of the earth planet is praised because of its being specifically sustained by the Lord; its beauty is appreciated and compared to that of a lotus flower situated on the trunk of an elephant. As a lotus flower with leaves is very beautifully situated, so the world, with its many beautiful mountains, appeared on the tusks of the Lord Boar.

TRANSLATION
O Lord, as the peaks of great mountains become beautiful when decorated with clouds, Your transcendental body has become beautiful because of Your lifting the earth on the edge of Your tusks.
PURPORT
The word vibhramaḥ is significant. Vibhramaḥ means “illusion” as well as “beauty.” When a cloud rests on the peak of a great mountain, it appears to be sustained by the mountain, and at the same time it looks very beautiful. Similarly, the Lord has no need to sustain the earth on His tusks, but when He does so the world becomes beautiful, just as the Lord becomes more beautiful because of His pure devotees on the earth. Although the Lord is the transcendental personification of the Vedic hymns, He has become more beautiful because of His appearance to sustain the earth.

… I know that Your Lordship has descended to this earth for the proper maintenance of the whole universe….
https://prabhupadabooks.com/kb/2/14?d=1
(If earth is just “something somewhere” why is it of importance for the proper maintenance of the whole universe? Take a car, if the mirror is broken or a tire is flat that’s not important, the engine is important and needs to be properly maintained or the car will not work. Why would Narada Muni emphasise the importance of the earths proper maintenance if not for being of pivotal importance?)

CHAITANYA MAHĀPRABHU AND THE EARTH OF SEVEN ISLANDS
Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s movement is universal. As explained in the following verses:
“The more the five members of the Pancha-tattva cause the rains of love of Godhead to fall, the more the inundation increases and spreads all over the world (tri-bhuvane — all over the three worlds).” Caitanya Caritamrita, Ādi-līlā 7.28
“In the activities of Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the three worlds dance and chant (tri-bhuvana nāce) having come in touch with love of Godhead. This is the characteristic of His pastimes.” (C.C Antya 3.267)
“Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His associates of the Pañcha-tattva distributed the holy name of the Lord to invoke love of Godhead throughout the universe (viśva) and thus the entire universe was thankful.” (C.C Adi 7.163)
“The Lord is situated in all the universes in different forms just to please His devotees. Thus the Lord destroys irreligious principles and establishes religious principles.” (CC Madhya 20.219)
Now, what is Now, what is really interesting in Chaitanya Mahāprabhu’s pastimes, is that pilgrims from all over the universe would come to meet Him at Jaganatha Purī in India, in order to a pay their homage at His lotus feet, to witness His pastimes of chanting and dancing in ecstatic love of God, and perhaps also to hear some instruction. The Caitanya-caritāmṛta particularly mentions that pilgrims were coming to see Him from all of the seven islands of Bhū-maṇḍala (sapta-dvīpa) which would include, of course, our closest neighbours on Jambudvīpa, as well as those from the other khaṇḍas of Bhārata-varṣa:
“Similarly, people who went to Jagannātha Purī from various provinces of India were fully satisfied after seeing the lotus feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.” (C.C Antya-līlā 2.9)
“People from all over the universe, including the seven islands (sapta-dvīpera loka—people from all of the seven islands within the universe), the nine khaṇḍas, the planets of the demigods, Gandharvaloka and Kinnaraloka, would go there in the forms of human beings.” (Śrī Caitanya Caritamrita Antya-līlā 2.10)
Purport: “For an explanation of sapta-dvīpa, see Madhya-līlā, Chapter Twenty, verse 218, and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Fifth Canto, Chapters Sixteen and Twenty.”In the above purport Śrīla Prabhupāda refers us the four chapters of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam that describe the seven islands (sapta-dvīpa) of Bhū-maṇḍala. Thus, there can be no doubt that the verse is explaining that pilgrims from Jambudvīpa and the other islands of Bhū-maṇḍala were coming to visit Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. In case anyone is any doubt that the seven islands mentioned here are those of Bhū-maṇḍala, in the purport Śrīla Prabhupāda also refers us to Madhya-līlā, Chapter Twenty, verse 218 wherein it is stated:
“Within the universe (brahmāṇḍa-madhye) the Lord is situated in different spiritual manifestations. These are situated on seven islands (sapta-dvīpa) in nine sections (nava-khaṇḍa). Thus Their pastimes are going on.

One thought comes to mind when the word plane is derived from Latin planus “level, flat” (from PIE root *pele- (2) “flat; to spread”) and you just put the ‘T’ it’s a completely different meaning (from plane to planet) and that is called word smithing.
