PADA: You need to accept a bona fide Guru

August 15, 2010 – The holy name can “only” be approached by guru, this is stated everywhere in shastra: acharya-upasanam. Srila Prabhupada therefore says: Krishna is like the sunshine, the guru is like the cool pond of water, and the disciple is like the lotus flower in the pond, therefore — when the disciple tries to see the sun without the water, he dries up and dies, but when the disciple is in the protective water of the mercy of guru (guru kripa), he grows very nicely.

Srila Prabhupada therefore says probably in thousands of places: — you need to accept a bona fide guru, maybe tens of thousands of places, its basically everywhere. Srila Prabhupada says the service, the chanting, everything, it must be offered to the guru, and the guru offers your service to Krishna.

This is called, parampara linking you to Krishna. Chanting without proper guru is called sahajiya vada, its not authentic. Aindra prabhu was lecturing on this point as well. ys pd
