I served at Bhaktivedanta Manor and Chaitanya College which both have/had substantial land. Through all the years i was there we had no interest and input from Gbc,Temple President etc.There was no inward investment,no development and no inspiration.
The devotees seem happy to trust money in their hands and dont want to work hard.But as far as i understand it iskcon has only developed partially and the part to do with community,self sufficenct ,land and cows has taken a back seat.
This farming and food production is just as important as Deity Worship maybe even more important so that Vaisnavas can show the living practicle example to the industries and animal slaughter.If we dont show the alternative to animal slaughter then who is?
