Mar 31, 2011 — TIMBUKTU (SUN) — You may know that we read Srila Prabhupada’s books in the early days as they were published. When Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 5, Volume 2 came out we read that one three times, because I was trying to understand the universe, to grasp It, which I could not.
Canto 5, Volume 2 popped into my life again as I had been thinking of it for half a year. I even spoke with a professor of astronomy about it, and he expressed big interest in reading this volume. I’ll lend it to him.
At the front, in the original editions, after Srila Prabhupada’s picture are two pages of diagrams displaying the universe, both cut in half from the middle, vertically and horizontally. In other words, a side view and a top view.
There are also two pages of six oil paintings per page depicting 12 of the hellish punishments. Also very graphic, very interesting. All four of these pages are gone from the newer editions!!! Not existing in the Vedabase for computer! Feels dry there without them, since I am aware of them. They make it so wonderfully interesting.
One cannot say that the pastimes of Lord Krishna are more true than the structure of the universe as explained in Srimad Bhagavatam, and we have as little direct experience of both. The Srimad Bhagavatam is the Absolute Truth, in all It’s parts.
Srila Prabhupada ok’d the picture plates for all His Srimad Bhagavatams, just as He did for all His books published. Just as the Bhagavad-gita As It Is is whole as it is, so if one removes whole verses, it becomes lacking. All It’s parts, all It’s verses are a part of It.
SRILA PRABHUPADA’S HARE KRISHNA MOVEMENT IS LIKE THAT! Srila Prabhupada spent twelve years constructing It, He named It ISKCON. He made all Its parts perfect. He is perfect and He did everything perfectly. He is not God.
By removing anything which Srila Prabhupada put in place for His ISKCON, one removes parts of Prabhupada’s perfect ISKCON, whether that be picture plates in books, all documents, all rules, etc. etc., everything. By dismantling, by removing, by changing what Srila Prabhupada ok’d, by what he left in those 12 years, we are weakening the potency of what He gave to us, to the world.
We say that Srila Prabhupada is ISKCON, It is His ISKCON As It Is. I do not mean or intend to be facetious, I mean to say exactly that whatever we remove or change which Srila Prabhupada Himself put into place, we destroy little by little what He gave us. We ruin its potency.
When changed, we are no longer handing down what was given to us. That is called the parampara, of which Srila Prabhupada is the most recent topmost link. All that he gave us is perfect the way He gave it to us. It cannot be made any better, because that would not be what he gave to us.
Krishna consciousness is simple for the simple minded and misunderstood, or not understood, by those with complicated minds. The word ‘simple’ in this case means innocent, pure and clean, not dumb, or less intelligent.
The best of Srila Prabhupada’s disciples are innocent and simple, thus they do not aspire for any material situation or position especially within ISKCON, which was and is meant to be non-different from Srila Prabhupada. The GBC is always fond of saying that ISKCON is Srila Prabhupada. We control ISKCON. Therefore they are to give us simply what Srila Prabhupada gave us.
It is a shame and a great misfortune that the original plates ok’d by Srila Prabhupada have been removed. It is unfortunate because others do not get to see what Srila Prabhupada gave to us in total. In total is just another way of saying, what Srila Prabhupada gave to us. Of course in total. We should not pick and choose what Srila Prabhupada gave to us.
What He gave to us is what we should take and pass on in total, unchanged, nothing removed, nothing “edited to make it closer to what He meant”. His love for us is found in Everything He gave to us. Changing or removing what Srila Prabhupada gave to us is like changing Srila Prabhupada, and/or changing His intent. He gave to us exactly what He intended to give to us in every way, shape, and form.
Why do the GBC and BBT not get this, not understand this? The only answer is, because they do not want to. That is their independence “misused”. It becomes everyone’s loss. Everything that Srila Prabhupada gave to us is what we call original, is what Srila Prabhupada gave to us.
Whatever is changed, removed, or edited is not what Srila Prabhupada gave to us. We only want what Srila Prabhupada gave to us, not anyone else’s ideas of what He gave to us. Srila Prabhupada is perfect.
The GBC’s perfection is to simply give what Srila Prabhupada gave. If we have 100 GBC’s voting, still none are perfect, as is Srila Prabhupada. What is the value of the majority of votes coming from imperfect voters? Therefore as Srila Prabhupada pointed out, what is the value of democracy coming from voters who do not know the Absolute Truth?

Richard L Thomspson PH D had a fascinationg beautiful intelligent book, Alien Identities, of amazing stuff, UFOs, Krrrshnra Boodza stuff, Irish caves & CHinese caves to a parallel EArth in some 4-dimensional directon from here, southwest Pennsylvania tall 9 foot tall sasquatch humanoids what had little UFO bighead humanoids with them, but I noticed 4 mistakes he made. (1) He said SansKrrrt idea of what he said was Moon smaller than EArth, with yojana lenth units of 5 miles each, but he never mentioned the Sun being smaller than Moon, & Sun closer to EArth than Moon is to EArth. From Rama Dasa’s prabhu’s article, (first sentence, last paragraph), “The GBC’s perfection is to simply give what Srila Prabhupada gave.” It seems their “perfection” has become to be Great Big Cheaters, usurping what Srila Prabhupada has given, changing what Srila Prabhupada wanted, and turning ISKCON into a Hinduized (money-making) “churchianity” (business) institution, where they can (and do) make lots of money (and pocket so much of it).
They’ve made such a MESS of Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON in SO MANY ways, including CRIMINAL behavior on ALL levels, along with many of these GBC “in-charges” demeaning Srila Prabhupada to ISKCON devotees, and at times, congregational members, along with the various compromizations of the philosophy (of course, to get money). So although in the past, GBC meant Governing Body Commission(er(s), today it means something very different: Greedy Boy’s (and now, some girls) Club, Great Big Cheaters, and the various other appropriate names…
