PETA.org.uk — The results are in! You helped us choose the sexiest, most smoldering stars whose diet and compassion for animals have left your heart skipping a beat. And here they are:
It’s been less than a year since Eliza Doolittle scored her first top-20 UK hits with Pack Up and Skinny Genes, but when you read any of her interviews, you’ll soon realise that she spends most of her time singing the praises of a vegetarian diet! “Oh my God, the food was amazing!” she said of a trip to Jamaica to film a video. “I’m vegetarian so I didn’t have any jerk chicken or anything, but I did have some bean soup, and jerk vegetarian wraps and stuff.
It was so yummy!” Eliza owes both her good looks and her compassionate diet to her mother, Tony Award-winning Les Misérables star Frances Ruffelle, who raised her vegetarian. Some of Eliza’s favourite things include nut loaf, veggie pitas from Nandos and vegetarian sushi.
The Wanted‘s Jay McGuiness is one-fifth of the UK’s hottest boy band, which scored a number one hit with their debut single, All Time Low, last year and have since rarely been out of the charts. Jay has been an animal lover from an early age – his mum recalls, “We’re all very sporty in this family. We all like football but Jay never took to it. When they were in the garden, they’d all be playing football but he’d be talking to the daisies and the ladybirds. … He loved animals …”. Nottinghamshire-born Jay, along with his fellow band members, recently appeared topless for the cover of GT – setting both male and female hearts racing! But Jay only has eyes for one beautiful lady – the love of his life is Neytiri, his lizard! If he were to ever advertise a product, Jay says it would have to be “Quorn, the fake meat. I’m a veggie and I eat it a lot.”
Other popular contenders include Welsh actor Owain Yeoman, two-time Sexiest Vegetarian winner and pop star Leona Lewis, ex-president of the United States and vegan Bill Clinton, actors Christian Serratos and Woody Harrelson, Hollywood film heavyweights Natalie Portman and Kevin Bacon and Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton.
