Radhashtami is a very special festival in the North, especially in Vrindavan, which commemorates the Appearance day of Srimati Radharani, eternal consort of The Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna. She is the foremost devotee of Lord Krishna.

Srila Prabhupada, Founder and Acarya of ISKCON, introduced this unique festival in ISKCON and from then, Radhashtami is celebrated all over the world in ISKCON centers. ISKCON Bangalore, at Sri Radha Krishna mandir, in the same line celebrated a unique festival – Sri Radhashtami with great pomp and gaiety. Thousands of devotees visited the temple to have a glimpse of Their Lordships Sri Radha Krishna-chandra on this most auspicious occasion.

Amidst the chanting of Purusha Sukta, Brahma Samhita and other Vedic mantras, the Utsava murthis of Sri Radha Krishna-chandra (the presiding Deities of the temple) were bathed (abhisheka) with 108 Maha-kalasha.
