Eternal bond between disciple and spiritual master begins from the first day he hears

My dear Jadurani,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated August 31, 1972, and I have noted the contents. I am especially glad to hear that you have distributed 32 Bhagavad-gita As It Is in one day in New York.

Now go on in this way and distribute all of our books profusely, as many as possible to all classes of men.
Regarding your questions, second initiation is real initiation. First initiation is the preliminary, just to make him prepared, just like primary and secondary education.

The first initiation gives him chance to become purified, and when he is actually purified then he is recognized as a brahmana and that means real initiation. The eternal bond between disciple and spiritual master begins from the first day he hears.

Just like my spiritual master. In 1922 he said in our first meeting, you are educated boys, why don’t you preach this cult. That was the beginning, now it is coming to fact. Therefore the relationship began from that day.

If you think of me and work for me, then I am in your heart. If you love somebody he is in your heart. It is common thing, everyone understands it. If I hate somebody or if I love somebody he is also in my heart. Therefore simply by hating Krishna he gets salvation, like Kamsa. So if you want to hate, hate Krishna.

There is no difference between me and my picture. Therefore we should honor and keep pictures in that spirit. If we throw pictures this way and that way, that is offense. The name and picture are as good as the person in spiritual world. In the material world either picture or person, everything is illusion.

The spiritual master accepts the sinful activities of his disciples from the first initiation. I may give initiation very easily, but what can I do? I am prepared to go to hell for service of Lord Caitanya.

Lord Brahma should always be shown front side.

    A good example of hearing from the spiritual master is HG Jayananda prabhu.

    Please accept my blessings. I’m so glad to receive your letter of Aug 30, and I know also that you are a sincere devotee of Lord Krishna. When you drive your car you always chant “Hare Krishna” and when I was by your side I could understand how heartily you have accepted the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness. Krishna is very kind to all but He is especially kind to his sincere devotees. Krishna is always with us, within our hearts and He is always ready to give us direction but because everyone is independent Krishna responds cooperatively. Anyone who voluntarily cooperates with Krishna’s desire He responds to his call very eagerly. Krishna descends to teach us Bhagavad-gita begging our cooperation and anyone who cooperates with Him becomes blessed. You are sincerely cooperating with Krishna and therefore you all boys and girls in San Francisco, working together harmoniously. Harmony means Krishna Consciousness. Without Krishna Consciousness there cannot be harmony in the world. I’ve received the report of successful performance of Janmashtami ceremony. I’m glad to learn that you are willing to come to India for further study. I received no letter from Dayananda or his wife Nandarani. I’m anxious to receive the report of the Los Angeles center.I do not know their address. Your acknowledgement “Krishna has been very merciful to me” is remarkable. You are realizing the fruit of chanting. So far my health is concerned I’m improving, by Krishna’s grace and it is due to your feeling of my absence and eagerly awaiting for my return.     Now Iskcon wants to commemorate HG Jayananda prabhu by recognizing him as eternal associate of SRILA PRABHUPADA.

    I got bound by hearing SRILA PRABHUPADA for the first time by SRI ISOPANISAD. PRABHUPADA touched my heart and the result is that after 3o years I’m still connected with HIM and getting closer day after day to achieve the perfection of the best disciple of SRILA PRABHUPADA: HG jayananda prabhu ki jai!

    Tad vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet samit panih srotriyam brahma nistham, one who wants know the absolute truth must approach a bona fide spiritual master and offer him everything required. Such a spiritual master must be fixed in the truth, having heard it in disciplic succession (Mundaka Upanisad 1.2.12) so everyone should take example of HG Jayananda prabhu.
