video: Srila Prabhupada’s Lecture on Bhagavad-gita 1.10 delivered on July 12, 1973 in London
24 March 2012, Australia — This article is an opinion, in response to Dusyanta Dasa’s article on the Sampradaya Sun “Community Does Not Work In Iskcon“.
I have been banned over at the Sampradaya Sun so I couldn’t comment there.
Srila Prabhupada set down the RULES for His Society, He wanted the leaders of that Society to ..”LEAD”, by example. Time and time again we can see this mood throughout Srila Prabhupadas books, His Classes, His Morning walks etc.
I strongly believe that the real reason ‘Community Within ISKCON’ Does Not Work, is because that, after 1977 ISKCON became a Society of RULER’S not LEADERS !
We are all pretty much familiar with phrase “the demons want to be the controller” and that, it is for this reason that they are demons.
One big big problem is, that a very large portion of Hare Krishna’s (and not just the so called gurus) believe that Srila Prabhupada rubber stamped them as RULERS who have some sort of inherant right to lord of over others.
Personally I liken these people to the greedy rich people on this Planet, who control the means of production, distribution, exchange and communication. These Oligarchs are the most obscene people on this Earth, a few crumbs of their riches could greatly improve the lives of “everyone” on the Planet, but steeped in there proud obscenity, they take right for wrong and vice versa.
Similarly for Iskcon we can see the same thing going on, those who control the means of production, distribution, exchange and communication of the Hare Krishna Movement are the people/personalities who have the most money and they are keeping the Society under their tight control with this obscene policy. How can community ever work under such a class distinction – it isn’t possible.
Where in the scriptures do we find millionare sannyasis?
We don’t want a Society without Rules, however we don’t need Rulers who seek to lord it over others, We Need Genuine Kind And Compassionate LEADERS.
