video: JAIRASABIHARI, March 24 2012 — These are the living quarters of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON. They are housed in the fifth floor of the west tower of ISKCON guesthouse.
Srila Prabhupada’s quarters were ready even before the Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple and guesthouse was completed. Prabhupada resided in these rooms on two occasions in 1977. He could see the Arabian Sea from five of the seven balconies at the quarters. In these very rooms he translated the Srimad Bhagavatam, met many prominent personalities of Mumbai and interacted with his disciples.
The quarters houses several items used by Srila Prabhupada including Prabhupada’s palanquin, dictaphone, Vyasasana and many more. The quarters are open for all to view Srila Prabhupada’s memorabilia.
Prabhupada Quarters is open for visitors from:
5:30 pm — 8:30 pm
Srimad Bhagavatam lecture by Srila Prabhupada is held every Wednesday at 8 am in the Quarters.
