This festival celebrates the pastime of Raghunatha Dasa Goswami receiving the mercy of Lord Chaitanya through Lord Nityananda in the village of Panihati. During this festival special preparations of chipped rice and yogurt are made and distributed as prasadam.
This festival is celebrated even today with great pomp and gaiety in the village of Panihati, which is located in North 24 Paraganas district, West Bengal. Thousands of devotees visit this village on this day from various parts of India.
