Mission Drift, Prabhu? Oh, It’s Much Worse than That

BY: RAVANARI DAS

Nov 07, 2012 — USA (SUN) — MISSION IMPROBABLE: Mission drift or blown out of the water? ISKCON is being right now destroyed from within by self-righteous politically correct men and women who think they are doing a jolly good thing with their pretense of serving manknd. Nowadays the form ISKCON has taken is much more like a torpedoed ship than mere ‘mission drift’. For proof, just take a look at ISKCON News, the official halitosis-laced mouthpiece of the GBC. Judging by its off-the-wall content, this site is actually run by ISKCON’s shadow “Ministry of Disinformation, Politically Correct Lies and Misguiding Propaganda”.

ISKCON’s so-called leaders are purposely creating situations that are intentionally meant to mislead the Society, to break it asunder, to wreak havoc on the philosophy of pure Krishna consciousness and to destroy the work of Srila Prabhupada. That is the only obvious conclusion that any genuine devotee can come to after reading the slew of humanitarian-based atheistic articles on ISKCON News. And make no mistake about it, Prabhus: that barefaced site’s shameless soft-soaping of Krishna conscousness is a real form of violence against the entire Gaudiya Sampradaya and all the acharyas who walked this earth for the genuine deliverance of a troubled mankind.

Srila Prabhupada taught that there is a difference between ostentatious pity and true compassion, but the GBC members must have been at one if their urgent meetings and missed that lecture.

FEEDING THE UNDERPRIVILEGED:Take a look at this piece of unrivaled drivel: “Feeding the Underprivileged in Hong Kong“. When did Prabhupada ever introduce this concept of “underprivileged”? What is underprivileged and what is privileged, anyway? This mundane concept is pure and simple a product of material conditioning created as a result of thinking that these relative worlds of karma-phal are the eternal home of the conditioned living entity. The use of this term by ISKCON’s bleeding hearts shows the root of their materialistic conditioning and unwillingness to accept genuine Krishna consciousness. And this is how many so-called “gurus” of ISKCON are training the next generation. Training them into a next generation of a totally mundane organization that reflects the Ramakrishna Mission.

To the institutionized ISKCON neo-lib members, “privileged” means being an ISKCON Guru and everyone else’s privilege is the to golden chance of a lifetime to serve them. Has ISKCON News forgotten about the law of karma, that great maker of privileges, whether overprivileged or underprivileged? Accoding to Srila Prabhupada, this human form of life itself is a rare privilege, so why is today’s mundane ISKCON of ISKCON News spreading these false doctrines of the underprivileged?

This is the most materialistic and phoney article in the history of ISKCON; it is a brazen white wash of the genuine philosophy of Bhagavad-gita As It Is. With its hyping of the great sacrifices of banks (the donors) and no mention of Lord Shri Krishna or His representative Srila Prabhupada, this article is so depressing, so revoltingly atheistic, that it is nothing less than a slow death to the reader. These wily people who parade as humanitarian leaders of ISKCON are intent on turning ISKCON into a society that is free from discrimination about that which is material and that which is spiritual. It would not be surprising if this so-called Food for Life handed out free scented toilet paper with their imitation devotional meals to the underprivileged.

And take a look at this: Annamrita, ISKCON’s Bleeding Heart Meals for the Bombay Underprivileged, has appointed a real live Indian goat-killing celebrity chef as their very own ambassador.

Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna—ISKCON’s new Good Will Ambassador for its Mundane Meal Programme—cooks up goats, chickens and fish. He even has a recipe for pate de foie gras, goose liver paste, one of the most violent foods ever created, since the poor goose is force fed till his insides nearly explode.

Right you are, Prabhus: Now that American TV has polished dogs dressed as a new breed of celebrity chefs pandering to the appetites of their two-legged mutt followers, India (in its usual tradition of blindly aping every Kali Yuga concoction of the West) has created its own grinning celebrity chefs. So according to the article on the official News source for ISKCON, “Celebrity chef Vikas Khanna has a deep love for food and for children.” After viewing his website, it could be concluded that he as an equally deep love for the slaughter of innocent lambs, chickens and sea creatures. Because his recipes are all about meat. There is even one for Irish stew. And does this Michelin-starred chef recommend a good bottle of aged Irish whisky with that?

Since he is the ambassador of ISKCON’s Midday Meal programme, the entire lunch programme is out to lunch.

Just don’t tell these celebrity chefs that they might end up becoming dogs and chickens in their next lives, Prabhus. That would be politically incorrect.

FOOD FOR DEATH: Even H.H. Jayadvaita Maharaja has refused to withdraw his assertion that ISKCON’s so-called humanitarian programmes are merely idle and non-productive exercises in feeding dead bodies, while keeping the souls housed in those bodies blanketed in layers of ignorance. Dear devotees
Pls accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

After having read what was said about Food for Death seminar given by His Holiness Jayadvaita Swami by His Grace Vayasaki Prabhu I thought of asking His Hollines whether those statements were true, especially that the seminar is still available on His Holiness’ personal website, which wouldn’t suggest his change of heart regarding this particular topic. I shared the post with Maharaja and here is his reply:

“To clarify:

I don’t doubt that what Vaiyasaki Prabhu wrote is true. That is, I assume he has accurately conveyed what Priyavrata Prabhu told him.

I also find it understandable that Priyavrata Prabhu may have gotten the impression that I was backing off from what I had said in my “Food for Death” course. When I met him, I was not in a mood to be confrontational, I expressed some appreciation for his personal endeavors to share Krsna consciousness with a niche market of vegans and vegetarian activists, and I offered that in the future I wouldn’t use the title “Food for Death.”

That said: I stand behind the contents of my “Food for Death” course one hundred percent.

I believe that Srila Prabhupada’s teachings about mundane welfare work, “poor feeding,” and so on are clear, strong, and consistent and that the course represents them accurately.

For that matter, I believe that advocates of “Food for Life” often pull his words out of context in order to justify ways of prasadam distribution His Divine Grace would disapprove of and in fact, when present, did disapprove of.

And I believe that much (perhaps even most) of what goes on under the banner of “Food for Life” runs directly against what Srila Prabhupada instructed.

Were I to give the course today, I would if anything speak even more strongly. Since I last gave the course, additional evidence from Srila Prabhupada has come my way that I would certainly offer.

(Do you know, for example, why the building built for public prasadam distribution near the roadside in Mayapur was outfitted with turnstiles? I always thought it was to prevent crowds from rushing in. No, says Madhusevita Prabhu. It was because Srila Prabhupada ordered that people should be checked on the way out to make sure they didn’t bring any prasadam out with them. “They will mix it with their fish,” Srila Prabhupada said, “and then it will be aparadha.” Madhusevita Prabhu, a brahmacari in Mayapur at the time, was among those given the responsibility to do the checking.)

I would also cite newer examples of how ISKCON distributes prasadam in ways exactly contrary to Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. (The flagship temple in one country I visit drops the food off at schools and orphanages, to be distributed however the staff they drop it with see fit. No kirtana, no preaching. Just dump the prasadam and go.)

My revered spiritual master was bold, strong, and uncompromising in his teachings, and to see his Society leave behind that spirit of uncompromising boldness and abandon or distort those teachings for the sake of collecting money and winning public acclaim saddens me.

Vaiyasaki Prabhu’s text signals to me that my words to Priyavrata Prabhu about “Food for Life” seem to have been misunderstood. Accordingly, with apologies to Priyavrata Prabhu, I withdraw my offer to hold back from using the title “Food for Death.” I think the title is right on, and I fully stand behind both the title and the course.”

Maharaja welcomed myself sharing his words.

BON MAHARAJA: And as long as you are performing the austerity of checking into ISKCON News, have a look at Satyaraja’s review of a book by Bon Maharaja. Then go to the Vedabase or Vanipedia or PrabhupadaBooks.com and enter ‘Bon Maharaja’ to see what Srila Prabhupada had to say about this person. To be sure, here’s one example:

Los Angeles
My dear Ramesvara das,

I have instructed Pusta Krishna Swami to issue one newsletter to the temple presidents, GBC, and sannyasis concerning the nefarious activities of Swami Bon. Kindly copy this and send out to all the temples accordingly that they should have no dealings with Swami Bon or others who are envious. You will find this letter enclosed. I hope that this meets you in good health.

Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Now what is your opinion, Prabhuji: Mission Drift or Mission Sunk?

WOMEN GURUS: Today in ISKCON there is a debate going on as to whether women can become gurus. Well, the real truth is that nobody can become a guru in such an institutional atmosphere. Not a genuine guru anyway. Institutions have institutional gurus and institutional gurus are not genuine gurus any more than, say, a head of a church is a guru to those who live outside that institution. Just as the Pope is for Catholics, ISKCON’s institutional gurus have no spiritual power beyond the brick and mortar, ISKCON Law Book and legal documents that are the sum and substance of today’s ISKCON. So this is the debate: not whether women can be gurus but whether the men will move over and give them some room on the elevated seat of their own making (which only a handful of them are actually qualified to occupy). Naturally this is not a good idea because it only adds to the beaucracy of unqualified gurus who have created an ingenuine standard for guruship. And with a woman’s power to create politics, women gurus in ISKCON will certainly outsmart someof their male counterparts.

Once upon a glorious time all the men and the women of ISKCON were actually gurus because they all bundled out onto the streets with book bags and preached the Absolute Gruth to anyone who happened by. That is the role of a brahmana and a brahmana is the guru of the rest of society. It is as simple as that. But those days are gone now and institutionalists have arisen with their own fabrications about gurudom. These brick and mortar gurus simply dance about as though they were bathed with haloes from the moment of their births, and the politically-smart women in ISKCON want to emulate them, to waltz in to the temple amidst the cries of “Jai Mata ji” and the blowing of conch shells. These institutional gurus act as though they were born to have Vikas Khanna do their cooking for them.

ISKCON GURU PUFF PIECE: So you aren’t convinced about the publicity hound gurus of ISKCON? Well have a gander at this “article”—really a shameless puff piece—from Dandavats. Go ahead and have a look, but keep a handkerchief ready because the theft of a pure devotee’s work is heart wrenching. This Dandavats article purports to be about ISKCON Nasik, but it is simply a collection of pictures of Radhanath and his cronies. No pictures of the temple, sankirtan, Deities, nothing. Just institutional gurus hogging their own conception of imagined glory.

And then after you have had enough of that puff piece, face the facts that since the Eleven Hijackers stole the movement in 1977, the Krishna Consciousness Movement has never been given back to the genuine devotees. They are mostly dead and gone, spiritually slain victims of the greed and ambition of poser gurus. ISKCON’s hijackers have simply put on new masks with politically correct toothy grins and a free lunch for the “underprivileged” that the genuine preachers had the dubious privilege of paying for. Each poser is armed to the teeth with a good acting ability to play the unfortunate innocent victim when a genuine devotee preaches the truth—that demons in ISKCON have turned a once-glorious movement into a SICK CON to fool the gullible public with welfare activities sponsored by animal-slaughtering starred chefs—and to line their pockets and positions by doing so.

What’s next you ask? Next the fearless leaders of ISKCON might beg the CEOs of McDonald’s, Colonel Sanders or Burger King to become good will ambassadors for ISKCON.

What all this bleeding heart business for the underprivileged boils down to is using the pure devotee as their figurehead in the front so that they can tally their personal profits behind his back. Not far away is a day of reckoning for those who have purloined and misappropriated the property of the Spiritual Master. Srila Prabhupada says, “Be very careful. You are dealing with Krishna.” Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead is non-different from His name, His associates and HIS MOVEMENT. And that day of reckoning will come soon for the hijackers just as it has for so many other disgraced poser gurus.

Meanwhile, the thousands of devotees who were chased from the holy halls of ISKCON only to find themselves sitting on the sidelines watching the criminal activity of ISKCON’s demons—the tinsel elite who dubbed themselves the chosen few—are left with a line from a soul song of four decades past:

What becomes of the broken-hearted,
Who have loved and now departed?

  1. Hare Rama,
please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

    Great article!
You put my thoughts about India into words:
“Now that American TV has polished dogs dressed as a new breed of celebrity chefs pandering to the appetites of their two-legged mutt followers, India (in its usual tradition of blindly aping every Kali Yuga concoction of the West) has created its own grinning celebrity chefs.”

It really saddened me to see the condition of the Indian people, because hey lost any spiritual culture.
New Dehli seems to be like hell judging from the air quality….

But you are wrong about one point:
The Ramakrishna Matha is actually more spiritually advanced then FISKCON, because they do not offend the Gaudiya Vaishnava Parampara by proclaiming child-molesters,criminals and deviants as Diksha Gurus.

The root issue of this “mission drift” is the proclamation of conditioned souls as Diksha Gurus and neglect of the July 9th 1977 Ritvik Order resulting in serious Guru Aparadha.

Ramakrishna Devotees will merge into Brahman, while the GBC “Gurus” and their followers will simply fall down to hell:
“As for your next question, can only a few pure devotees deliver others, anyone, if he is a pure devotee he can deliver others, he can become spiritual master. But unless he is on that platform he should not attempt it. Then both of them will to go to hell, like blind men leading the blind.”
(Srila Prabhupada Letter, December 14th, 1972)

I personally became implicated in the offense to Srila Prabhupada for some time, because I was mislead to follow a false Guru. And I personally experienced hell.
This is no joke, that’s why I warn devotees…
But most devotees do not want to hear the truth…

    Greetings
    Bhakta Robin
