Foods That can be Eaten When Fasting on Ekadashi

His mother replied, “My dear son, I will give You whatever You ask.” Then the Lord said, “My dear mother, please do not eat grains on the Ekadasi day.”

The following foods and spices can be eaten when observing this Ekadashi fast:

All fruits (fresh and dried);
All nuts and nut oils;
All types of sugar;
Buckwheat;
Potatoes, cassava and sweet potatoes;
Coconut;
Olives;
Milk;
Fresh ginger;
Black pepper; and
Rock salt.
