Posted  04 April 2009: The more I hear about each devotee situation  all over the world the more fortunate I know I am. We do regular sunday feast program at our ashram/temple. I live on two fertile acres out in the country and devotees
drive sometimes a hundred miles each way just to come. Now thats dedication !!
So I guess they feel its worth it .
I would be hoping you could get something going there similiar to our situation here. I have just brought together over the years, all the local sincere souls and we meet regularly for kirtan, class prasadam, Hari nama, festivals, etc.
It takes a bit of doing and “encouragement” shall we say, but they all love our sanga now and look forward to each week.
I also went through similiar frustrating things regarding my past with iskcon and a former marriage. Both were ugly, but now Krsna has blessed me with a good wife and we work together and put on programs and take care of all our Deities, she makes beautiful outifts, turbans, etc…
So I would encourage you  to see if you can just gather a few souls in your area, have some kirtan, start slowly, dont try to force siddhanta at them, and then let the Holy Names take over their lives through devotee association . You will feel good for doing this and it helps heal the past by getting a higher taste.
Afterall, we are ALL looking for some love -we get it from Srila Prabhupada and Krsna. That is what brought us to both of them. Love and pleasure. Prabhupada once said this movement has only one purpose-
Pleasure—the devotees are pleasure seeking souls. The real devotees that is.
I am sure there has to be some in your area.
Anyway–hope you’re well–Oh by the way I spent a year and half in Bad Nauheim (near Frankfurt) before I became a devotee
