Dear Srila Prabhupada, often you repeated the story of how Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati was so pleased when one of his brahmacaris distributed even a few small pamphlets. Last night the devotees on Harinam in London handed out 1,400 copies of “On Chanting Hare Krsna”. So we pray you are pleased by this.

It was bitterly cold but none of the Vaisnavas seemed to notice. Just like the postman – they delivered the message without considering who was qualified and who was not. Anyone that came near was offered a copy.
Perfect co-operation – Little Mrdanga and Big Mrdanga, side by side.

I was trying to calculate how many people chanted ‘Hare Krsna’ during the evening. There were 35/40 devotees chanting wholeheartedly, but then – on top of that – it seemed that almost everyone that I passed on the street was chanting. Either they were mimicking the devotees – ‘Hare Krsna Hare Krsna – Rama Rama Hare Hare ?@!%$’ – or just pointing out to their friends ‘Oh look – there are the ‘Hare Krsnas’.

Some were approaching the devotees and asking questions, and some even joined in and followed us for a while. Of course later in the clubs and pubs they would have been remembering the Samkirtan Party. As well as the next day. As mentioned above, about 1,400 got a copy of ‘On Chanting’ which they will possibly read the next day – and then show it to friends and discuss it further. So in this way – it is probably not an exaggeration to say that over 50,000 people, maybe even more, would have chanted the holy names due to the grace of the Saturday Night Harinam Party.

So – if it is true that one can become free from more sins than it is possible to commit – just by once unconsciously chanting the Holy Names of Krsna, then the benefit distributed by the Harinam Party every Saturday night is inconceivably MASSIVE. Those devotees that realise this – strive to go out Street Chanting as much as possible.

In this Age of Kali – this Age of Chaos, Quarrel and Hypocrisy – there is no greater welfare work. All kinds of charitable works fade into insignificance compared to this humble attempt to inform the eternal living entity, the eternal spirit soul, of its real constitutional position… Its true nature… as the eternal servant of Krsna – The Supreme Personality of Godhead.

All glories to the Congregational Chanting of the Holy Names

Param Vijayate – Sri Krsna Samkirtanam

So where is the help for these lost souls? Why is there no collective effort that we used to know to help the USA what to speak of the rest of the world. Why is nobody telling them the way we used to tell them, the way we used to sing to them and share prasadam with them, the way Srila Prabhupada wanted us to? Why is no one telling them this..”When, however, one is enlightened with the knowledge by which nescience is destroyed, then his knowledge reveals everything, as the sun lights up everything in the daytime.” And WHY? Because..”Around the time of recession rocked the United States, its population experienced a disturbing shift: Today, suicide takes more American lives than any other form of injury. 2012″ Yet…NONE OF US IS DIRECTLY talking about a programme for these people. With out them and their spiritual awakening we are loosing our support base. If we do not help them now FIRST and foremost then all of our personal projects will be for naught. Remember why you are here..first and foremost. To give back what you lost, to leave that boat over the ocean of nescience for the next guy,not to abandon that responsibility. Nothing that we do is worth anything to Lord Caitanya unless we include others at every turn. Ours is the highest welfare work with the simplest price. Hare Krsna. So where is the help for these lost souls?

    >The “lost souls” will not get much help from these Hare Krishna’s for the simple reason that they themselves are lost. ISKCON has been taken over by blind men, if they themselves are blind how can they help others?

And still they’re becoming guide, they’re becoming swamis, they’re becoming gurus, they’re becoming fathers, they’re becoming government. How people can be happy? Everyone is andha, blind. They have no jnana, no knowledge, and misleading only. (The Nectar of Devotion — Bombay, January 10, 1973)

    >The public get some literature, go to the ISKCON temple, they will simply get cheated. In the good old days the public got the real deal when they went to the temple, Prabhupada. For example; a member of the public is a Christian who follows Jesus. He gets a book, goes to the temple.. gets a bogus guru who cheats him. How has he been helped? Hint: He gave up a bona-fide guru for a bogus guru. Yet we all chant ..

    vancha-kalpatarubhyas ca krpa-sindhubhya eva ca
    patitanam pavanebhyo vaisnavebhyo namo namah

I offer my respectful obeisances unto all the Vaisnava devotees of the Lord who can fulfill the desires of everyone, just like desire trees, and who are full of compassion for the fallen souls. ( Bg-1972: introduction)

How can we be “full of compassion for the fallen souls” while sending them to the nonsense in ISKCON, GM, etc? That’s what you may do when you give a member of the public a book.

So there must be faith, faith in the right person. Then it is all right. If you have got faith in the person who has got eyes to lead you, then he will help you to cross the road. And if you put your faith to another blind man like you, then it will cause disaster. Faith is required, but to the right person. Then it will be all right. (Morning Walk — Delhi, November 26, 1975)

ISKCON, GM, etc., encourages faith in the wrong persons.

Hasti Gopala Dasa: Why is there no collective effort that we used to know to help the USA what to speak of the rest of the world. Why is nobody telling them the way we used to tell them, the way we used to sing to them and share prasadam with them, the way Srila Prabhupada wanted us to?

    >Things have changed. We have to either correct this error, or like most do .. just abandon ship.
