Dear Prabhus, Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Srila Prabhupada said that vanaprastha (retirement) at age 50 for all of his male disciples is “compulsory.” Why should the GBC men, most of whom are now aged 60+, be an exception? This is obviously Srila Prabhupada’s method to get rid of the “dead wood” within the management ranks of his beloved ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada demonstrated in 1972 that ISKCON could survive temporarily without any GBC at all, so why are these GBC men resisting the mandatory retirement that Srila Prabhupada repeatedly ordered?
The answer is obvious:
They are criminals, and they have set themselves up to be dictatorial tyrants. Therefore, like typical tyrannical dictator criminals, they are cursed to carry a heavy management burden until their dying days lest their replacement managers bring them to justice!

Nowadays GBC are mostly gurus since according ISKCON law a non-initiating Prabhupada disciple is considered as fallen.
Comparing ISKCON’s elite of GBCs with the pope, from begin with the pope never claimed to be on the level of Jesus Christ, God’s direct representative.
Absolutism, demanding to be worshiped as good as God is rather unconstitutional, forbidden, in Western nations.
The pope took up this position as officiating priest (ritvik) and never claimed to be the infallible mouthpiece of God.
This type of impudence to run as saksad-hari, directly God, is the privileg of modern Vaishnavas, mainly ISKCON type, who figure to introduce “higher spiritual education” on planet Earth. Only problem, their temples are empty in NA / Europe.
Pope Benedict left because he is more intelligent than Iskcon’s GBCs who cannot understand that they are not dictated by Krishna but by their kama, krodha, lobha, moha, matsarya, that’s all.
Srila Prabhupada, is dictating, “My dear boy, do not do this; you do this.” Outside dictation through his books, and inside dictation, do like that. But GBC is disobeying. Regularly they are disobeying. Then how anybody can be happy?
Therefore the list of fallen ISKCON gurus is getting bigger and bigger.
Pope Benedict is a ritvik who acts on behalf of Lord Jesus. But still, he is not attached to this post and immediately due old age, steps down.
So far ISKCON gurus only stepped down when leaving with girl-friend and a huge trunk of temple laxmi.
Although Prabhupada came to the West in order to teach Christians how to become better Christians, it is now vice versa, Christians like pope Benedict teach ISKCON gurus what is delicate manners.
