Srila Prabhupada is there whenever there are devotees following his vani in association

Bhakta Ray Lanthier, Apr 06 2009, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Grahila dasa prabhu in his article, “Prabhupada Hasn’t Left ISKCON“, begs many questions. He says quite plainly: “The bottom line is you are connected to Srila Prabhupada in ISKCON.” How does one begin unraveling this tissue of ambiguity?

1. There is the physical ISKCON with all of its infrastructures, properties, temples, etc., which is factually the property of the Founder/Acarya – and has been unceremoniously stolen right from under Srila Prabhupada’s disciples, its rightful tenants, who were practically evicted by coercion, threats and harassment.

2. Then there is ISKCON the corporation, headed by its totalitarian board of directors, the GBC who, by centralizing all temple authority under their supposedly beneficent dictatorship against Srila Prabhupada’s stated desire that ISKCON remain decentralized, must necessarily assume all responsibility for its state of affairs, both material and spiritual.

3. Then there is the true spiritual ISKCON which is the sanga, the international community of Vaisnavas, primarily the disciples of Srila Prabhupada, which transcends the above-mentioned.

Srila Prabhupada is there whenever there are devotees following his vani in association – ISKCON 3.

But how can that be ISKCON 1 or ISKCON 2, which were usurped and deviated in total violation of Prabhupada’s vani, and disrespect his disciples?

If one is truly connected with Srila Prabhupada one should find association in ISKCON 1 and ISKCON 2 intolerable, because of the unrelieved elephant stampede of offensiveness they represent.

They cannot be simply ignored. Playing ostrich will not work. Silence implies consent.

“In a family if there is one good boy, he can glorify the whole family and similarly if there is bad boy he can turn the whole family into ashes. Similarly in this institution, if there is a bad disciple he can burn the whole institution into ashes. The GBC’s duty is therefore to see that every member is following the rules and regulations and chanting sixteen rounds regularly on the beads. I hope the GBC in cooperation with the sannyasis in their touring program will be able to keep vigilance systematically in order to keep the society as pure as possible.”
(Letter to Bali Mardan 8-25-70)

So a devotee could remain in such ISKCONs either out of ignorance or indifference. The ignorant may be innocent, but who says being a fool is a disqualification? Anybody who is in a material body, other than those who are nitya-siddah or jiva mukti are fools. There is always the possibility of becoming wise – but that would mean realizing that what passes as ISKCON is a fraud. If the sadhaka stays then, through indifference, that disciple is worse than a fool. That aspiring Vaisnava is not only happily rubbing elbows with demons, but serving their base desires.
