Bhaktivedanta Manor UK mortgaged with 5 million pounds

Posted by Krishna das, Apr 07 2009, CALIFORNIA, USA: From many sources it appears that Gauri das (Temple President) and company have re-mortgaged Bhativedanta Manor in order to get 5 million pounds — 2.6 million for some odd Hindu school and the rest for other projects. Two of the directors of ISKCON UK are in the dark, and have not been part of the discussion making on this one. I guess they think £5,000,000 is not something worthy of mentioning at their meetings. Just like Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe doesn’t feel the need to give power, despite the whole world looking on in disgust.

Our senior devotees who have been in positions for some time – many years – who’s sadhana and attendance at the temple may have dropped a little, in some cases to almost zero, should seriously consider giving the reins to some younger fired up devotees who still have the urge to push on the mission. Maybe, some form of election? God forbid.

In this way there is a chance to protect our society from shameless people who disregard the child protection organisation, the directors of ISKCON UK, and any other managers who are not in their pockets.

I suggest the GBC send somebody to investigate the finances of Bhaktivedanta Manor. I suggest the managers apologise to Mahavidya prabhu. Freedom of speech is not always a good thing, but in this case it is important that devotees feel free to be allowed to have an opinion.

Your Servant,
Krishna das
