HATS OFF TO PARA

Tonight at the PEAK VIEWING time of 8.00pm, Parasurama prabhu appeared on the ITV programme ‘Food Glorious Food’. The ‘little fella’ is a genius when it comes to discovering novel ways to spread Krsna Consciousness. I went out with him and his crew on March 17th – The Saint Patricks Day Parade – last month. I was amazed at how many devotees were convinced to dress up in green and wear Leprachaun hats etc. I even ended up wearing one myself – beard and all . The crowds lining the streets of London on that miserably wet day, really enjoyed seeing the ‘Hare Krsnas’ taking part in the festivities.

Tonight Para broke new ground – being interviewed by the famous chef Loyd Grossman, who after tasting Para’s ‘Poor Man’s Feast’ (kitchori) commented that it reminded him of his days back on the West Coast in the 60’s when he had received prasad from the Hare Krsnas. So many people recognise that devotees make and distribute the best vegetarian food imaginable.

Parasurama is the man behind London’s magnificently successful ‘Food for All’ Project. He has distributed tons and tons of prasadam throughout London and many other places such as the various music festivals around the country. Recently he and his glorious team of helpers have reached a major milestone. They are now serving 1,000 plates of Krsna Prasadam a day, six days a week, to the homeless and needy in central London. How on Earth days he manage it ???

Maybe the clue is to be found in this remarkable devotees recreational activities. Getting on for about 20 years he has been one of the mainstays of the SATURDAY NIGHT HARINAMS through London’s Wild West End. He leads the Samkirtan Party off from outside Govinda’s almost every week without fail. If he is not there – then it simply means he is spreading Krsna Consciousness elsewhere on that particular night.

Every Friday Night at the Matchless Gifts Store on Caladonian Road near Kings Cross in London, he hosts an evening of kirtan, along with a guest speaker, followed by a delicious feast.

Titiksu prabhu was was joyfully relating to me the other day that every year Para stays up all night, the night before Rathayatra, with his team of devotees cooking for the over 5,000 people that attend the Festival in London’s Trafalgar Square.

Parasurama prabhu appears tireless in his endeavours to please the devotees, Srila Prabhupada, Lord Chaitanya and the merciful Sri Sri Radha Krsna deities in both of our wonderful London Temples.

Please show this truly humble devotee how much we appreciate his dedication and service in at least one of the following ways..

1.Come and join the Saturday Night Harinams,
2.Donate some cash to ‘Food for All’
3.Gift any of the items listed on the eflyer below to his Charity Shop in Kings Cross.
4.Next time you meet him let him know you appreciate his service to Srila Prabhupada
