Srila Prabhupada, New Vrindaban, June 13, 1969: […] That is perfect reading of Bhagavad-gita. It does not require to read Bhagavad-gita by your academic education. If you simply hear from the authoritative source the instruction of Bhagavad-gita, and if you simply meditate upon that speech, that instruction, “Oh, Krishna instructed like this.
Arjuna received like this. He questioned like this. He answered like this,” that is meditation, perfect meditation, and you become liberated. Tad-vicestitam. It is not very difficult job. Simply you have to receive. Therefore satya-sravah, suci-sravah. Suci-sravah. You have to hear from the pure source, give aural reception, and think of it, meditate upon it. Simply by doing this, you are liberated. These are not bluff. Here is the evidence.
Simply receive the message from the right source and contemplate and meditate upon that instruction. You are liberated. Chanting and hearing. Hearing and… sravanam kirtanam. First hearing, then chanting. Hear from the right source and discuss amongst yourselves. Istagosthi. Then the perfection.

As we see, all people agree what Srila Prabhupada is saying and we should try our best to meditate on HIS wonderful spiritual realizations because HE used to say that hearing and meditating upon what is heard brings a sincere sadhak to rapid progress in spiritual knowledge.
Vani seva of Bhagavad-gita is the most powerful but we can’t understand it properly without the help of a pure devotee, Srila Prabhupda’s purports. Actually Bhagavad-gita is the best salagrama-sila.
In Bhagavad-gita it says, whoever can close the cycle of birth and death by reading it regularly, Bhagavad-gita gives liberation to that reader. But even though a person may be in full knowledge that he is not this body but is transcendental to the body, he still may not be able to discriminate between the soul and the Supersoul. However, he can know everything well if he cares to take shelter of the perfect, bona fide Krishna conscious spiritual master. One can know God and one’s relationship with God only when one actually meets a representative of God.(BG 5.16, purport)
Just like Maharaja Priyavrata who followed the order of Lord Brahma. Maharaja Priyavrata was a liberated person and was among the highest of yogis, yet superficially he became the emperor of the universe in accordance with the order of Lord Brahma. (SB 5.1.23)
Ultimately only prem puman artho mahan can set us free beyond mukti and bhukti which are compared with two witches. In the Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu (1.2.22), Srila Rupa Gosvami describes bhukti and mukti as two witches who haunt the conditioned souls and keep them from experiencing the bliss of bhakti.
It is true, the real devotee has no enemies because for Krishna too there is no good or bad. However, that is the topmost devotee’s conception.
Prabhupada: “But when we are preaching, we have to come to the second stage. There are three stages of devotional life. The first stage, or the lower stage, the middle stage, and the top stage. So this kind of conception, that, “Nobody is my enemy”, that is on the topmost stage. That is not to be imitated. When you are preaching, you have to come to the middle stage.
