By B. Radha-Govinda Swami (ACBSP)

Dear Prabhus,

Hare Krsna. All glories to His Divine Grace, Srila Prabhupada. Please accept my obeisances. I hope your sadhana and bhajan are going well.

The following instruction is from His Divine Grace, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada:

“Cheating and weakness are two separate things. Persons devoid of a cheating propensity achieve perfection in life, but a cheater is never successful. Vaisnavism is another name for simplicity. Cheaters are nondevotees. Sincere persons can be weak, but they are not cheaters. Cheaters say something but do something else. Weak people are embarrassed by their defects, whereas cheaters are maddened by their achievements. “I will cheat the acharya,” “I will deceive the doctor,” “I will nourish the poisonous snake of my sinful propensity with banana and milk, hiding him in the hole of my cheating propensity,” and “I will demand name and fame from the people while posing as a saint”: These are not symptoms of weakness but of utter deceitfulness.

Such cheaters will never achieve any good. By hearing humbly from saints with a sincere attitude, however, one will gradually attain auspiciousness. After accepting tridandi-sannyasa if one remains busy with worldly activities, thinking that family life is more important than spiritual life or maintaining the sinful mentality of kidnapping Sita from Rama as Ravana did even while dressed as a devotee, then one is a self-killer. We are far from the worship of Hari. Even if we have weakness and have enough anarthas to last us for millions of years, we are not as misfortunate as if we possessed a cheating propensity. It is better to take birth as animals or birds than to take shelter of cheating.”

From Srila Prabhupada’s BG 10.4 purport:
Satyam, truthfulness, means that facts should be presented as they are for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented. According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak the truth only when it is palatable to others. But that is not truthfulness. The truth should be spoken in a straight and forward way, so that others will understand actually what the facts are. If a man is a thief and if people are warned that he is a thief, that is truth. Although sometimes the truth is unpalatable, one should not refrain from speaking it. Truthfulness demands that the facts be presented as they are for the benefit of others. That is the definition of truth.”
Asammoha, freedom from doubt and delusion, can be achieved when one is not hesitant and when he understands the transcendental philosophy. Slowly but surely he becomes free from bewilderment. Nothing should be accepted blindly; everything should be accepted with care and with caution. Ksama, forgiveness, should be practiced, and one should excuse the minor offenses of others.”
Because of the 1977 and ongoing GBC deceit, we are seeing the so many deviations and resultant difficulties which have arisen from such, which includes the subsequent delusion and ultimate philosophical (as well as gross) falldowns on the part of so many devotees, with sahajiyaism and mayavada so very present within ISKCON in general and within devotees as general.
Though this comment may not be appreciated, I again refer you to Srila Prabhupada’s explanation of satyam.
Srila Prabhupada gave us the Absolute Truth and as we know, His Divine Grace would cut through the illusions  (with what could seem to some as very harsh cutting words), by presenting us with the truth, at times, Srila Prabhupada’s presentation of the truth so heavy, that some devotees would be shocked.
Srila Prabhupada created ISKCON so that for those whose desire it is to accept seriously and make progress on this Bhakti Marg, we would be able to have the association of other aspiring devotees through which we could assist one another in doing in attaining the goal, hearing and chanting together, as well as lovingly keeping vigilance to see to the protection of our Gaudiya Vaisnava siddhanta, which includes seeing to the spiritual protection of one another.
Sadly we are seeing the various philosophical and other falldowns [which I see as being] resultant from an ineffective and purposefully deviated GBC, which although set up by Srila Prabhupada for upholding the standards Srila Prabhupada set for [His] ISKCON, instead as an overall body has taken things in a very different (deviated) direction, so many of whose members as individuals are so diverted themselves, placing their material ambitions as first and foremost, and using their GBC (and/or guru) “position” to achieve such.
There are ONLY two positions, Master and servant: Krsna, Who is the Supreme Master, and we, who are servants: ekale isvara krsna ara saba bhrtya yare yaiche nacaya se taiche kara nrtya: “Krsna alone is the Supreme Controller, and all others are servants. They dance as He makes them do so.”
As Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu confirmed referring to Himself (accepting the role of (topmost level) devotee):

naham vipro na ca nara patir napi vaisyo na sudro naham varni na ca grha patir na vanastho yatir va

kintu prodyan nikhila paramananda purnamritabdher gopi bhatuh pada kamalayor dasa dasanudasah

May we be/become vigilant to see and address whatever anarthas we have as individuals trying to progress on this Bhakti Marga, be/become vigilant to see and understand properly the GBC’s overall deviations which have compromised Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON and the Krsna consciousness philosophy, and the resultant effects from those deviations, so that we will not be/become fooled and thus compromised in our understanding and application of the Krsna consciousness philosophy, and may we be/become vigilant to guard ourselves against any sentimentality and/or foolishness so that we ourselves will not be misdirected and will not (foolishly) accept and/or justify such deviations, or push others away, who honestly (in their genuine concern for Srila Prabhupada, the integrity of Srila Prabhupada’s [intended] ISKCON, and their concern for the spiritual lives of themselves and others), address these things.

You please be well.

May we be safely situated under the shelter of Srila Prabhupada’s Lotus Feet, Those of our Guru Varga, the Vaisnavas, and Sri Sri Radha and Krsna.

With love,

Your servant,

B. Radha-Govinda

Hare Krsna

  1. B. Radha-Govinda Swami says:

The rest of that email I sent to Pratyatosa prabhu’s Istagosthi group was:

PS: I had a guest who came, so this first email which I meant to save (for finishing later) I accidentally hit the send button, and thus, it was sent off too quickly, before its finish:

Srila Prabhupada set up the GBC to be ISKCON’s managing body, for seeing to the “upkeep” of Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON on all levels, including the proper “upkeep” of the consciousness of the overall ISKCON devotees.

None of us (who have any sense of love, sense of caring) want to see the compromisation of Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON, the compromisation of the devotees as individuals either philosophically or some other form of weakness, (which means a possible cause for delaying one’s opportunity for attaining the goal of this Krsna consciousness practice).

Love means concern, concern in seeing the pain that someone else is going through in their own misfortune (in having a falldown – be it philosophical or gross, even when the other person is not able to see their own difficulty), along with seeing the pain that such a person’s falldown causes to others.

Sadly, the people (GBC) who have accepted the service of RESPONSIBLITY for seeing to the welfare of Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON as a WHOLE, and to the devotees’ welfare of ISKCON devotees as individuals, have not only been NEGLIGENT in their service, but certain GBC as individuals (and one has to question the collective GBC as a whole) have PURPOSEFULLY KICKED OUT from ISKCON, GOOD, SERIOUS, DEDICATED devotees (who were PROPERLY FOLLOWING Srila Prabhupada’s instructions).

Thus, we see the present-day situations within ISKCON, with such people in what would be considered “prominent positions” having such philosophical and/or gross falldowns (the ones that come out; some of which the GBC has been keeping hidden for years).

This is not a matter of criticism that someone has had a falldown, but rather a situation of lamentation; lamentation that someone had such a difficulty, and ultimately WHY it has happened; a corrupted GBC which doesn’t give a damn about Srila Prabhupada, Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON, and/or the individuals within ISKCON who are seriously desirous of serving Srila Prabhupada.

Certainly there are “accidents on the royal roads,” but so many of the “accidents” in ISKCON – gurus, GBCs, sannyasis, etc., falling down – IF the GBC had been doing its service as a collective body, and as individuals, would NOT have happened. (And one can only imagine how amazing, how spiritually potent ISKCON would have become, had the GBC followed in accordance with Srila Prabhupada’s desires and instructions.)

It is their service to be the GUARDIANS of Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON society as a whole, and the (LOVING) GUARDIANS of the devotees as individuals. But (sad as it is), the GBC have NOT been rendering this service properly, and in fact, in so many cases, the OPPOSITE!!!

May we somehow by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada and our Guru Parampara become freed from the impersonalism which besets our consciousness, and open our eyes to the realities which Srila Prabhupada on behalf of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Lord Nityananda and our Guru Parampara was trying to present us with, and what we CAN have, if we so desire, and are willing to accept Srila Prabhupada’s instructions for obtaining such.

May Mahanidhi prabhu become freed from his illusion(s) and may the GBC become the proper guardians Srila Prabhupada wanted them to be, and may we all, somehow attain the goal, Krsna Prema.

    With love,

    Your servant,

    B. Radha-Govinda
    Hare Krsna

  2. It’s true that cheating and weakness are two separate thing. A devotee may
endeavor to advance in Krsna consciousness but sometimes may due to that
weakness fall from his spiritual maintenance but still continue by learning
to strengthen such weakness by being sincere and serious as he progresses.

Cheating on the other is done on purpose, its premeditated to mislead. Cheating
goes hand in hand with lying as we can see with the ritviks.

The foolish ritviks supply quotes after quotes from Srila Prabhupada
books, lectures, letters and conversations etc, but to date they have
not been able to quote a direct statement from Srila Prabhupada
where he is actually saying that he wanted to continue to be the initiating
spiritual master after his departure from this planet, that post samadhi
ritvik initiation is to be performed in his absence from this planet and
the initiated devotees will become his disciples.

In all his 12 years of preaching Krsna Consciousness worldwide Srila Prabhupada
has not mentioned even once that he will continue to be the initiating
spiritual master after his departure. It is not there in his books nor
    letters, conversations or lectures.

It is these foolish ritviks who have been, with their cut and paste quotes,
interpreting to mean that Srila Prabhupada wanted to be so, as the initiating
spiritual master after his departure to suit their post samadhi ritvik initiation
nonsense. An idea concocted due to their unhappiness with the iskcon gbc.

The July 9th 1977 letter is to be accepted as it is. It was issued when Srila
Prabhupada was around, delegated more of the initiating responsibilities to
his senior disciples but maintained the fact that he was the current
spiritual master then and all initiated names are to be sent to him to be
included in his initiated disciples’ book. He stayed on a good five more
months after the letter was issued.

Srila Prabhupada never said in his July 9th 1977 issued letter that he wanted
to continue to be the initiating spiritual master after his departure from
this planet. The ritviks can never show proof of this because that statement
was never given in that letter neither can it be found in his books nor lectures,
    letters, conversation or morning classes.

That is why these foolish ritviks are fond of interpreting the July 9th 1977 letter
    and Srila Prabhupada’s statements/comments.

On one side we have the Iskcon/GBC changing the spoken words of Srila Prabhupada
in his translated books and on the other we have the ritviks interpreting his
spoken words. While the kettle and the pot dance side by side, the general body
of devotees and public gets cheated.

“Arrival Lecture — Los Angeles, May 18, 1972:

So we have got this message from Krsna, from Caitanya Mahaprabhu, from the six
Gosvamis, later on, Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Bhaktisiddhanta Thakura. And we are
trying our bit also to distribute this knowledge. Now, tenth, eleventh, twelfth…
My Guru Maharaja is tenth from Caitanya Mahaprabhu, I am eleventh, you are the
twelfth. So distribute this knowledge. People are suffering.”

    ” Lecture on SB 7.12.2 — Bombay, April 13, 1976:

If you become a devotee of Krsna… Just like in our institution they are being
trained up as devotee, so to rise early in the morning is automatically there.
There is no separate training. Because he is devotee, he has to rise early in the
morning for offering mangala-aratika, and you have got our order that everyone must
attend the mangala-arati. That is automatically brahmacari. Eh? Sayam pratar upasita.
And what is the upasana? The first guru. Guru, agni, arka—means sun—and then God.
Therefore you see in our Deity room there is picture of guru first of all. First of
all your guru, then his guru, then his guru—at least four, five generation, because
the spiritual knowledge is received through the parampara. I have received from my
guru; you are receiving from your guru; and my guru received from his guru; he
received his guru. Evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh (BG 4.2). Adau
gurvasrayam. You cannot learn to become a perfect human being without accepting guru.
Then you remain a rascal. Tad-vijñanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet (MU 1.2.12). That
is the Vedic injunction. If you want to learn that transcendental science, you must
approach a guru. Guru principle is the same, not that your guru and my guru will be
different. If he is actually guru, then there is no difference between my guru and
    your guru.”

    HARE KRSNA

  3. Amar Puri says:

SG…. which category are you falling in ( i ) CHEATING or (ii) WEAKNESS ????????????

From your writing it shows and proves that you fall in the category of a CHEATING.

    Is it NOT true ?????

Why I say that it is because all of your questions have been repeatedly answered in this forum many many many times and yet it does not ring the bell in your head because you chose not hear it by rejecting and refusing the Instructions in His VANI of HDG. Srila Prabhupada.

    That is your problem, SG.

    All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

  4. SG has not shown us one letter where Srila Prabhupada said he wanted eleven people he said repeatedly are “kindergarten level” “puppy brains” “not fit for sannyasa” “not following the principles” “they should get married” “are part of a dangerous conspiracy” “should be sent back to Bellvue” “are crazy persons” “have not understood the philosophy” “are fighting among themselves” “the GBC needs to be suspended for deviations” — ad infinitum, are — gurus? Where is that stated? ys pd

  5. The practice of the ritvikism by ritviks is based on their believe in the
instruction of the July 9th 1977 letter which its followers claim that
Srila Prabhupada wanted to continue to be the initiating spiritual master
after his departure from this planet and this resulted in they coming up
with their own concocted idea of post samadhi ritvik initiation on his
behalf program and claim to be his initiated disciple thereafter.

Did Srila Prabhupada made such a statement in the July 9th 1977 letter? That is
the question we should ask. If the ritviks are saying yes, then they should come
forward sincerely and show proof from the letter itself, and in Srila Prabhupada’s
own words where he says that he wants to continue to be the initiating spiritual
master after his departure from this planet.

We know the ritviks cannot come up with such a proof of direct statement made
by Srila Prabhupada because such a statement is not there in the July 9th 1977
letter. His intention has always been to train his initiated disciples to advance
spiritually, qualify and continue the guru parampara.

” His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada’s
Disappearance Day, Lecture — Hyderabad, December 10, 1976:

So this knowledge means to understand the original source.
That is philosophy, find out the original source. That is
knowledge. So the vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyo. Actually
the knowledge terminates when you understand Krsna. He is
the source of everything. So there is a “struggle for existence,
a human race, the only hope, His Divine Grace.”

So we got this information from His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta
Sarasvati Thakura, and that knowledge is still going on. You are
receiving through his servant. And in future the same knowledge
will go to your students. This is called parampara system. Evam
parampara prap… It is not that you have become a student and
    you’ll remain student. No.

One day you shall become also guru and make more students, more
students, more. That is Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s mission, not that
perpetually… Yes, one should remain perpetually a student, but
he has to act as guru. That is the mission of Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
It is not that because I am acting as guru, I am no longer student.
    No, I am still student.

Caitanya Mahaprabhu taught us this instruction that we shall always
remain a foolish student before our Guru Maharaja. That is the Vedic
culture. I may be very big man, but still, I should remain a foolish
student to my guru. That is the qualification. Guru more murkha dekhi’
    karila sasana (CC Adi 7.71).

We should be always prepared to be controlled by the guru. That is very
good qualification. Yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasada? **. Ara na kariha
mane asa **. So we should become always a very obedient student to our
guru. That is the qualification. That is the spiritual qualification.”

What the ritviks do is they resort to interpreting the instruction given in the letter,
by giving their own opinions and back it up by cut and paste quotes from his books, letters,
lectures etc. None of these quotes states that Srila Prabhupada wanted to remain as the
initiating spiritual master after his departure.

The ritviks usual modus operandi is to quote Srila Prabhupada’s statements and interpret
it with their own opinions. That’s what they always do. The ritviks have never been
straightforward and they have never accepted Srila Prabhupada statements, orders and
    instructions as it is given.

One should be careful and not follow blindly.

    HARE KRSNA

    11. August 2013 at 5:51 am

SG has not shown us one letter where Srila Prabhupada said he wanted
eleven people — gurus? Where is that stated? ys pd

Yes, we all know Srila Prabhupada did not issue any specific letter
to any of his disciples appointing them as gurus. But he has made
many statements in the course of his 12 years worldwide preaching
where he wanted his disciples to advance spiritually, sincerely
and seriously and by that qualify, become gurus and continue the
    preaching of Krsna Consciousness.

You are his initiated disciple, Puranjana dasa. Its a shame, that
    you do not know this.

    HARE KRSNA

  7. Amar Puri says:

SG……….from your writing any one can read that you are a CHEATER number ONE because that is your position.

My humble advice to you is that please try to move one step backward in order to become the servant of the servant and then hear it from Srila Prabhupada with RAPT attention what you have quoted in your remarks so that you may understand the meaning of not becoming all types of a cheap diksha gurus but rather a Qualified GURU – Instructor doing what Srila Prabhupada wants all of His sincere and serious followers must do.

What Srila Prabhupada wants His followers to do is that please carry the Holy name of the Lord to the people in every town and village in order to deliver them from the clutches of Maya not to become diksha gurus of all sorts and accepting disciple of your own on behalf of the Iskcon Institution where the founder Srila Prabhupada is present via His VANI.

Do you accept that and follow it, SG…. ???

It does not look you do, SG. That is indeed your problem. Because you chose not to accept and obey what HDG. Srila Prabhupada instructs His followers.

NOT accepting and following so, is totally a misleading and a cheating. Therefore, you are a CHEATER.

Is it not a FACT ???

    All Glories to Srila Prabhupada.

  8. SG says: The practice of the ritvikism by ritviks is based on their believe in the instruction of the July 9th 1977 letter which its followers claim that
Srila Prabhupada wanted to continue to be the initiating spiritual master after his departure from this planet and this resulted in they coming up
with their own concocted idea of post samadhi ritvik initiation on his behalf program and claim to be his initiated disciple thereafter.

Why is it that highly intelligent Hansadutta Prabhu, one of Srila Prabhupada’s closest associates, member of the GBC body, and BBT Trustee, could understand what Srila Prabhupada’s July, 9, 1977 letter meant the second he received it:

I distinctly remember when I received the July 9, 1977, letter in Sri Lanka that it was clear to me that this letter was Srila Prabhupada’s arrangement for initiations for the future. I also remember feeling some disappointment with the obvious conditional authority that the “Rtvik representative of the Acarya” designation implied, because I actually had a great desire to be a Guru like Srila Prabhupada, and I think many of the leaders did have similar desires.

…, but SG Prabhu can’t understand it to save his life?

Like I said before, only a fool or a self-motivated rascal can’t understand that the July 9th letter means exactly what it says: “ritvik henceforward!”
