(These deep realizations and profound memory of Srila Prabhupada came from our godbrother Deva Dharma das from a post I made yesterday about a 109 yr old lady who survived the Nazi Holocaust)

This world is FULL of paradox. We have to believe in a God we cannot see. We have to believe we are spirit soul while being forced to behave and act like we’re this body. We have to try and be happy while surrounded by so much misery and suffering. We have to become positive while surrounded by so much negativity. We have to stay sane while surrounded by so many crazy people (and what to speak of the jerks). We have to smile and pretend we’re so jolly and cheerful while we’re dying a thousand deaths.

My only consolation is remembering that once I came before Srila Prabhupada in his tiny room in Bhubaneswar while all the devotees had gone off to visit some holy place. He wanted someone to organize the supplies for his evening meal and I was called to his room. I was feeling very wretched and thought I’d better offer my full dandavats to make up for my offences. But when I got onto my knees to hear his words his eyes were filled with tears, so much so I could barely see his eyes. From that few moments experience (which spoke volumes to me at the time) I could understand that this is not just some nice philosophy that we follow or that Srila Prabhupada is pushing on us.

But actually we are all very much LOVED by Srila Prabhupada and that he cares about us so much that he is shedding tears for each and every one of us. So whatever austerity we may be going through if we can somehow feel that we are doing it to please Srila Prabhupada then I am quite convinced that we will again be united with him in LOVE and SERVICE. So all glories to your service prabhus. May Srila Prabhupada be pleased by your efforts.”
