Niti Central — The Akshaya Patra Foundation one of the largest NGO initiated in 2000, has come a long way and is well known for its midday meal programme serving thousands of school children every day. Recently, it has added another feather in its cap, by adopting eco-friendly cooking medium. The NGO has installed biomass smokeless oorja stoves in its kitchens, initiating reduction in carbon emissions. These stoves do not emit smoke and help in saving at least 50 per cent of cooking fuel.
The role of the foundation in implementing its midday meal programme is much more than just providing school lunch to the children, in fact, through it, they aim to achieve the two most critical Millennium Development Goals, i.e., elimination of hunger and universalisation of primary education. With the aim to reduce school drop outs due to poor financial condition, the NGO serves over 1,347,513 children in 19 locations across nine States. It provides them with freshly cooked meal on all school days. Now, get the people organized to depend on our technology and the first main and most important tool is the stove that we supply to cook their food. Open schools with outsourced wealth and teach the population how to follow or be cut off from the gifts from their competition. The original culture supplied all needs for its people from very ancient times. The techniques to feed, clothe and protect themselves were ravaged by the ancestors of their new philanthropist friends. If free thinking and real education are not part of their education then history will repeat itself. The time is long overdue for Srila Prabhupadas disciples to actually take part in the same project and offer Krsna Consciousness from Srila Prabhupada through his original pre 1978 books. For the most part the west is not being treated to Krsna consciousness that would feed the homeless in the manner and the numbers that Srila Prabhupada requested and as well feed their souls.So never mind how wonderful the service of salvation is for for those taking the advantage to better themselves from the offers of others.
