Upon checking the above statement:
All the above mentioned sites have the following text in their CC Madhya 13.50
But this text is missing in the original book.
Before making claims as above,
better to verify first,
the pdf’s are available they really ARE the original books.
Once upon a time, the Vedabase contained Srila Prabhupada’s original books (in spite of some errors), not intentionally changed ones with altered philosophy. The books offered by these mentioned links are based on such older Vedabase versions.
webmaster- First of all the ‘Heading’ to this discussion is wrong. The title says “VedaBase 2015.2 of the Bhaktivedanta Archives” but upon checking the file, the file says 2015.1, anyone spot the difference?
In your post you claim that “Once upon a time, the Vedabase contained Srila Prabhupada’s original books (in spite of some errors), not intentionally changed ones with altered philosophy.”
Have you ever carefully checked this statement?
I have and most were edited to some degree or other. All editing is intentional. It’s the motive behind the editing that is the problem here.
1972 Bg was not edited but had a few errors like Bg 17.8-10 but only synonyms for 17.8 and this is corrected in vedabase 2015.1.
The authorised/original books are available but only in the pdf’s made from scans of the books.
fyi
so-called Bg 1972 does have signs of editing in the Roman transliterations
Bg 1.8
the book has..
bhavän bhéñmaç ca karëaç ca
kåpaç ca samitiïjayaù
vedabase Bg 1972 has..
bhavän bhéñmaç ca karëaç ca
kåpaç ca samitià-jayaù
Vedabase Bg 1972 has added many hyphons also to the Roman transliterations..
püjärhäv ari-südana (Bg. 2.4)
the book has.. püjärhäv arisüdana
Vedabase Bg 1972 has (Bg 2.29)..
äçcarya-vat paçyati kaçcid enam
äçcarya-vad vadati tathaiva cänyaù
äçcarya-vac cainam anyaù çåëoti
the book has..
äçcaryavat paçyati kaçcid enam
äçcaryavad vadati tathaiva cänyaù
äçcaryavac cainam anyaù çåëoti
and more like this, thus too many to be accidental.
Web-sites have just copied what is in the Vedabase.
There are slight differences in the texts of Bg 1972.
The hard bound edition has….
The soft bound edition has…
This is what the Vedabase has & what KB inc., has used for their editions.
