Video: The Story of Prahlada & The Appearance of Lord Nrisimhadeva

A project created by Art In Motion for Prabhupadanugas, to celebrate the birthday of Sri Nrisimhadeva who appeared to save his five year old devotee Prahlada Maharaja from his demonic father King Hiranyakashipu. The narrative & illustrations are from a book called ‘Prahlad‘ by Govinda Devi Dasi & Gaurasundara Dasa based on the 7th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam with the translation and purport by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhakivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.

First I’d seen this ART, appreciate this simple and beautiful art with a glorious message. We all must become like Prahlada who has achieved this pure level of pure devotional service where the Lord personally came and defeated the demoniac influence which we see today around us.

  2. Hare Krishna Rathayatra Prabhu,

    Please accept my obeisances.

    Jai Srila Prabhupada!

    Many thanks for the appreciation.

The art is truly unique and beautiful. Here’s a line to the art, in the book ‘Prahlad’ by Govinda Mataji & Gaurasundara Prabhu:

“Prahlāda Mahārāja was surprised when his teacher was teaching him how to deal with enemies. He was surprised: “Who is enemy?” So a Vaiṣṇava has no enemy. Vaiṣṇava is friend.”
(Srila Prabhupada, Sri Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya 20.110.111 Lecture. Bombay 1975)

Here’s praying to Lord Nrisimdeva to always protect Srila Prabhupada’s movement, and may those who sincerely want to render devotional service, work together to take Srila Prabhupada’s movement ahead the way he wanted us to.

Hope you and all the devotees are celebrating a wonderful Nrisimha Caturdasi.

    In service of Srila Prabhupada,

    Rupavati Dasi

  3. Sudarsana Das Vanacari says:

Prahlad Maharaja was on the Uttama Adhikari platform, but we cannot imitate him. Srila Prabhupada was also on this high platform but came down to Madhyama Adhikara platform to preach. Although we shouldn’t feel enmity towards the demons THEY WILL OF COURSE FEEL ENMITY TOWARDS US! This is the result of preaching, Srila Prabhupada’s message. The demons have completely infiltrated and corrupted FISKCON. They are completely envious of Srila Prabhupada, that is why they gave him poison. That is why they pose as “diksa guru”. That is why they want to destroy, adulterate, Srila Prabhupada’s books obstruct, hinder, harrass, and threaten court action.

If you try and imitate Prahlad Maharaja with the idea that everyone is your friend you will fall down because that is sahajiya mentality. FISKCON is now implementing all directives of ‘The Round Table’ ‘AGENDA 21’ … Propagation of CO2 Global Warming Myth, GMO Food control, Self Empowerment, Pacifism, Gay Rights, Veganism, New Age Occultism. The Worldwide Esoteric construct is a long goal of The Illuminati, reflected in the Rothschilds (created and financed) UN which is a key member of The Round Table of Satanists.

The Lucis Trust (formally Lucifer Trust) is the publishing house which prints and disseminates United Nation material. It is devastating indictment of the New age and Pagan nature of the UN. Every day FISKCON is aligning itself towards towards these New World Order UN objectives, more and more is Srila Prabhupada’s message being drowned out.

There is nothing wrong in thinking that EVERYONE IS YOUR FRIEND, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE UTTAMA ADHIKARI PLATFORM OTHERWISE YOU WILL BECOME ANOTHER VICTIM OF SAHAJIYAISM AND FALL DOWN JUST LIKE THE “GOPI BHAVA” GAUDIYA MATH, “CORNER SHOP “ACHARYAS!”

  4. Hare Kṛṣṇa Sudarsana Das Vanacari prabhu

My obeisances to all the wonderful Vaisnavas & followers of Srila Prabhupada’s vani as it is.

    All glory to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I do understand the anger and frustration about what has been done, and continues, to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s movement. In fact, I too have been in the midst of the receiving end for the past 35 years. However, I’m grateful that I’m now fully aware of the hellishness of Kaliyuga, it’s effect on the consciousness, and the presence & destruction caused by the kali-celas – the people I trusted and gave everything to.

I too feel extremely distressed about the situation, and equally disgusted with myself for being unable to qualify even as a kaniṣṭha-adhikāri after so many years. However, with time I’ve come to understand that just venting anger without direction is futile and impotent. I pray to Kṛṣṇa that I’m able to look within and focus on how I can make a positive contribution to Śrīla Prabhupāda’s mission to the best of my ability.

“Pratyakṣa avagamam means if you follow this path, then you will personally understand how far you are advancing. How far you have become on the path of perfection, you yourself will understand. Nobody will require to certify that “You have advanced so much.” You’ll understand yourself.”
(Lecture on Bhagavad-Gita As It Is 8.28-9.2, New York, November 21’66 https://bit.ly/2w3CBad )

Śrīla Prabhupāda instructs us on appropriate Vaiṣṇava behaviour to avoid offenses, even unknowingly. That we must always follow in the footsteps, and instructions, of the exalted Vaiṣṇavas and Mahājanas, and certainly not dare to imitate them. You’re right that the exalted uttama-adhikārī standard is only possible for the rare one to achieve.

“After hearing about the activities of Prahlāda Mahārāja, a pure devotee should be very anxious to follow in his footsteps, but such a devotee might be disappointed, thinking that not every devotee can come to the standard of Prahlāda Mahārāja. This is the nature of a pure devotee; he always thinks himself to be the lowest, to be incompetent and unqualified.”
    (Srimad Bhagavatam 7.10.48 Purport https://bit.ly/2joUlnk )

I’m praying that I’m able to follow the sadhana, chant qualitative japa and render devotional service.

“Therefore we should pray to Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva to sit in our hearts. We should pray, bahir nṛsiṁho hṛdaye nṛsiṁhaḥ: “Let Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva sit in the core of my heart, killing all my bad propensities. Let my mind become clean so that I may peacefully worship the Lord and bring peace to the entire world.”
    (Srimad Bhagavatam 5.18.9 https://bit.ly/2w7x16K )

I beg you to please pray that I may one day, hopefully in this lifetime, be worthy of serving the Vaiṣṇava and Śrīla Prabhupāda’s glorious mission.

Please forgive me if I have angered or offended you.

    In service of Śrīla Prabhupāda,

    Rupavati Dasi

  5. Sudarsana Das Vanacari says:

Dear Rupavati Devi Dasi. Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Please take my words as a comment only and not a critique! I am very sorry if my comments are interpreted by your good-self as ”venting anger without direction” and I can assure you that I gave up being “distressed and frustrated” many years ago. These emotions are certainly a sign of attachment and the years have lessened such useless anarthas, though it certainly seems that I have grown more disgusted with the material world and its superficial accompaniments.

Your words regarding ‘Pratyaksa Avagamam’ are most illuminating and full of realization in itself, so you do yourself a great disservice and injustice by declaring that you ”are unable to qualify as a Kanistha Adhikari after so many years”, thus endearing yourself to the assembled Vaisnavas by such grace and humility. I therefore beg, that you yourself pray that I may one day, hopefully in this lifetime, be worthy of serving the Vaisnavas and Srila Prabhupada’s glorious mission, because my own prayers are worthless.

I share your appreciation of the wonderful book and the illustrations also as these original works (approved by His Divine Grace in his presence) are the most beautiful and can never be equaled. Please forgive my rough Kshatriya nature as you are obviously a kind heart and sincere spirit, but understand that when I see the demons, grinding the hapless victims into their machine, there is no greater satisfaction than for me to ”throw a spanner into it!”, so please do not think that I am offended. Nothing could be further from my mind.

Thank you very much for your wise words, and invaluable contribution!
