BBT India and Jitarati Das court case amicably settled in Bombay High Court.
Justice Kathawala before whom the matter of printing the Srimad Bhagavatam 10 volumes by Jitarati Das came up on 16th May 2018, requested the parties to try to mediate and settle the matter out of court and come back to him.
BBT India represented by HH Gopal Krishna Goswami, HG Bhima Das and Ananda Tirtha Dasa mediated with Jitarati Das and has settled the matter. Both parties have resolved their differences and have agreed to work together for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada.
BBT India will print and make available the Srimad Bhagavatam in 10 volumes format (Nine Cantos and Krishna Book) WITHOUT 11th and 12th Canto. Jitarati Das has agreed to distribute the present printed sets outside of India by developing a new market outside of ISKCON circles.
This court settlement was recorded by the Justice and the suit is closed.

Yes! a wise decision from the Bombay court. I am not aware of all the fine details, so I guess we will have to adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach as these attitudes to Srila Prabhupada’s books and the unauthorized book changes have created many problems for devotees.
The commentary on “A note about the Second Edition” by Guruda Das Phd Upon reflection, seems to be a very balanced and authoritative critique of Jayadvaita Swami’s unauthorized book changes. So, if indeed the future proposed ‘Symposium’ does take place with regards to the unnecessary changes (in the Second Edition) I hope that sanity will prevail. Jayadvaita Swami is really out of his league here, and although I do not know Guruda Das, what he has wrote in his critique seems very positive and authoritative. So I guess it is another case of ‘wait and see!’ FISKCON’s continual belligerence when it comes to ‘reforming the old guard’ has historically been quite reactionary and obstructionist!

We use the terms viceroy, vice-president, vice-captain, vice-chairman (oops vice-chairperson) etc everyday, well knowing the meanings, however that’s the first time I’ve seen it broken down this way.
Actually the dictionary has at least 4 definitions of ‘vice’, beginning with ‘wickedness or evil in general’ down to ‘instead of; in the place of’…. crazy English language!
