My Amazon review, by Madhavananda das

The main difference between Bhagavad Gita As It Is and all the other
translations is that it offers a personal concept of God. Other Gita’s
assert that the impersonal formless aspect of God is the ultimate
realization. Their idea is that we ourselves are all God and thus there is
no personal supreme being. The impersonal only offers a very vague
description of spiritual existence where we supposedly merge into the
formless light.

Nor does the impersonal view offer what I consider to be a reasonable
explanation of why we are here, why there is suffering, and why we continue
to reincarnate through a continuous cycle of birth & death. It teaches that
we’re here to experience & learn, & that our experiences are simply God’s
pastimes.

Prabhupada’s Gita explains that Krishna, as the Supreme Being, does not
need to incarnate or suffer. His lila, pastimes are simply for enjoyment or
to uplift humanity. God is all knowing & all powerful & does not need to
suffer or incarnate to learn anything. God’s only real business is enjoying
& offering us guidance to enjoy together with God who enjoys as the Divine
conjugal couple Radha Krishna.

We as individual souls are meant to serve the whole, just as a hand is
meant to serve the rest of the body. But we are endowed with free will. We
are meant to love God in a personal relationship, but love can’t be forced.
So we have the choice to love & serve God or otherwise try to enjoy
independently.

The whole material world exists to accomodate the souls who want to
experience independently. But due to forgetting our relationship with God
we are in an unnatural state of existence where we are subject to
ignorance, illusion, forgetfullness and the repetition of birth & death.
This offers the opportunity to redeem ourselves or continue on in our self
made illusion of being independent god’s or masters of our own realities.

If everyone were God, then there would be no disharmony and disagreement in
the world. But because we are all individual souls, each with our own
plans, we are in a world of struggle & competition. For God, there is no
suffering, ignorance or forgetfulness. God’s pastimes are simply enjoyment,
and we can share in that enjoyment when we surrender & harmonize back with
God’s will. This is the actual meaning of being one with God, not that we
are God ourselves as taught by every other Gita. We are parts of God, & can
be one with God in quality & purpose.

Many people are adverse to the personal explanation of God, and become
offended when Prabhupada refers to devas as demigods. Prabhupada explains
how there are many powerful servants of Lord Krishna (who appears in many
forms like Lord Vishnu). Some are forms of Krishna (vishnu tattva), while
some are souls (jiva tattva)and some are partial expansions like Lord
Shiva. But for those who are averse to this explanation, this is the very
reason why we are here separated from God. People do not want to accept the
Lordship of a supreme being, they aspire to be their own God and make their
own interpretations.

Another thing to be aware of is that the organization that Prabhupada
founded, ISKCON has been continually editing Bhagavad Gita unfortunately.
The leaders insist that it’s necessary and many of the changes have changed
the actual meanings, not just grammar or punctuation. This is a very
controversial topic, though most followers of the organization blindly
accept and follow along.

The other thing the leaders changed after Prabhupada’s physical departure
was his teachings about accepting a guru. The leaders aspired to crown
themselves as initiating gurus who are worshiped liked gods. Prabhupada
left instructions to setup a zonal system for the world where disciples
would initiate new disciples on his behalf even after his physical
departure. But leaders interpreted the instruction in their own way and set
themselves up to receive the worship. Over the years many gurus have been
exposed in breaking the basic principles of Krishna Consciousness.

Regardless of how many are exposed, the leaders keep sweeping it under the
carpet & insisting everyone must have a “living guru” to be initated by &
worship. They talk about tradition & offer all kinds of arguments which
most ISKCON people just go along with.

Disciples should be simply taking the position of guides & teachers without
accepting a formal title to be worshiped by. Leave the title of honor &
worship to Prabhupada, so the organization he founded could be united under
him.

According to the teachings, a guru who initiates a disciple is taking on
their karma. The initiator guru thus should be fully pure and is to be
worshiped the same as God. In this age of Kali yuga however, such a “pure”
person is very rare or practically nonexistent, someone like Jesus Crist.
So Prabhupada did the practical thing for the age by setting up a system
where his leaders could decide who is qualified to be initiated and they
could continue to initiate on his behalf.

He put it in writing in a letter to all the leaders after they asked him
how things would continue after his departure. And in his will he added
that only his initiated disciples could manage the ISKCON properties, which
he intended to continue for thousands of years. The only way that would be
possible is if his disciples continued initiating new disciples on his
behalf after his departure.

The leaders though setup their own system where they could vote each other
into the position of initiator guru. Basically anyone who is in with the
club could be literally voted in by the board as a “bonafide initiating
guru”, who could be worshiped as good as God. It doesn’t matter how many of
these gurus are caught watching porn or all sorts of material activities,
sentimental blind followers still continue following & worshiping them.

The leaders did follow the zonal aspect of Prabhupada’s instruction for 10
years after his departure. There were 11 zones and 11 disciples assigned as
his representatives for each zone. But rather then simply acting as
representatives, they claimed themselves as the elite chosen successor
gurus and accepted grand worship for themselves for 10 years until many
became exposed in scandalous activities. With other ambitous individuals
also aspiring for the position and with the original eleven unable to
maintain the facade of being the exclusive successors, the zonal system was
completely eliminated after 10 years and the doors were opened for more
gurus to be rubberstamped in by a voting process where the leaders could
all vote each other into the position.

This system is firmly in place now after 40 years since Prabhupada’s
departure. It is more or less a worldwide personality cult. Popular opinion
has dictated this outcome. Most people just want to be part of the group,
or aspire to gain fame, fortune & adoration as a guru. You may go to an
ISKCON festival and everything may seem hunky dory, but underlying the
whole situation is this history.

Regardless, reading Prabhupada’s Gita offers much guidance, hope &
inspiration itself. In the teachings it tells that the guru is present by
his words. There are original unchanged Gita’s available but not through
the organization. Check for “original 1972 bhagavad gita as it is”. Here’s

The cover of bogus edition says it all! Arjuna is being ‘pacified’ by Krishna (is He advising him to take an anger management course?). He is seated and with ‘no weapon’ why is this? Why is Lord Krishna carrying a whip? This is bogus nonsense, He has ‘pulled up; the horses….they look hesitant and afraid. Lord Krishnas face has been painted in a most unflattering way. Why is this? Lord Krishna is the most attractive.
There is no movement in this painting!…..The wheels inert and frozen, horses hesitant, no movement, just inertia and Arjuna ‘unprepared and passive!’ Are these the signs of boldness, bravery, and victory?

THIS IS PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE, PASSIVITY, NEGATIVITY, INERTIA, INACTION, IRRESOLUTION!

Now look at the ORIGINAL AUTHORIZED VERSION….It is dynamic! full of movement and purpose! Arjuna is confident, bold and masterful! Inspirational as he draws his arrow skillfully from the quiver ready to dispatch those who would transgress dharmic principals! The Horses (great devotees Sri’s Balahaka, Meghapushpa, Saibya and Sugriva) are a mega-powerful, unstoppable force (completely responsive to Lord Krishna’s will……are these great souls to be whipped?….ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!). They are stirring up the dust like a hurricane, wheels in full motion! Lord Krishna Is carrying Panchajanya (the conch of Victory!) This image is AUTHORIZED by His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,

These FISKCON Zionist faggots and wimps know that they have to pacify those who want to uphold Srila Prabhupada’s instructions and are fearful that the dynamic and righteous power of The Lord and His surrendered followers will eventually ‘be their undoing!’ Is this why they have removed Panchajanya from Lord Krishna’s hand and replaced it with a whip to beat the devotees with? So when they see the original cover “THEY ARE FEARFUL, LOOKING AT THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION THIS IS WHY ARJUNA HAS NO WEAPON BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THIS WEAPON HAS THEIR NAME ON IT”

JAS the Jewish book changer guru should be expel and hung, along with his co conspirators that allowed changes to Srila Prabhupada’s books.
JPS the Bengali mafia guru & friends who supported the attempted poisoning of a pure devotee
need to be exposed also, “hang em all”.

By the way, ITSACON has a lawsuit going on to stop printing of Srila Prabhupada’s original books,
    welcome to 2020.

  3. Hasti Gopala dasa says:

On the whole The changed books have done nothing for the world, this we are seeing. Why not expose that truth by using the original books for the world instead of wasting time crying about something that we are not using anyway?

If we are not teaching from the original books even on line then what difference does it make to lose the originals to the BBT? The changed books are not bringing people to Srila Prabhupada or Krsna. So give them Srila Prabhupada and automatically the BBT and JAS and company will dry up.

Don’t waste the rope. Use it to pull Srila Prabhupada and Lord Jagnatha’s Rathayatra cart. with the ORIGINAL intent.
PS JAS is not Jewish he is a Zionist.

  4. Hasti Gopala dasa says:

Just looking at the original Gita cover shows excitement, clarity and blazing color!
The contents are very exciting in their original form. I would not give Amazon a penny for their business but that is another subject. This “new” Gita will help to continue to do nothing to solve the ills of modern society which is why it is being pushed by Amazon.

Let the customers compare the most important illegal change to the Gita to the original posted below. In the original in the verse below there is reference only in the singular regarding the bona fide spiritual master and the disciple. Logic alone dictates that this verse comes directly from the original author and not from future editors of the original text. It is the original author who speaks for the original Krsna.

    Chapter 4: Transcendental Knowledge

    TEXT 34
    tad viddhi pranipatena
    pariprasnena sevaya
    upadeksyanti te jnanam
    jnaninas tattva-darsinah

    SYNONYMS
    tat—that knowledge of different sacrifices; viddhi—try to understand; pranipatena—by approaching a spiritual master; pariprasnena—by submissive inquiries; sevaya—by the rendering of service; upadeksyanti—initiate; te—unto you; jnanam—knowledge; jnaninah—the self-realized; tattva—truth; darsinah—the seers.

    TRANSLATION
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.
    PURPORT
The path of spiritual realization is undoubtedly difficult. The Lord therefore advises us to approach a bona fide spiritual master in the line of disciplic succession from the Lord Himself. No one can be a bona fide spiritual master without following this principle of disciplic succession. The Lord is the original spiritual master, and a person in the disciplic succession can convey the message of the Lord as it is to his disciple. No one can be spiritually realized by manufacturing his own process, as is the fashion of the foolish pretenders. The Bhagavatam says: dharmam hi saksad-bhagavat-pranitam—the path of religion is directly enunciated by the Lord. Therefore, mental speculation or dry arguments cannot help one progress in spiritual life. One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge. Such a spiritual master should be accepted in full surrender, and one should serve the spiritual master like a menial servant, without false prestige. Satisfaction of the self-realized spiritual master is the secret of advancement in spiritual life. Inquiries and submission constitute the proper combination for spiritual understanding. Unless there is submission and service, inquiries from the learned spiritual master will not be effective. One must be able to pass the test of the spiritual master, and when he sees the genuine desire of the disciple, he automatically blesses the disciple with genuine spiritual understanding. In this verse, both blind following and absurd inquiries are condemned. One should not only hear submissively from the spiritual master; but one must also get a clear understanding from him, in submission and service and inquiries. A bona fide spiritual master is by nature very kind toward the disciple. Therefore when the student is submissive and is always ready to render service, the reciprocation of knowledge and inquiries becomes perfect.

Great comments prabhu, Zionist ITSACON leaders and their supporters definitely will dry up when more us continue to distribute and read only original writings of Srila Prabhupada pure books (my only goal).
Online free downloads will increase if they try to stop us printing them.

Here’s an interesting story for our readers:

We had permission to replace the used changed Bhagavad gitas As It Is
with 20 brand new BBT printed ’72 McMillan edition original Bhagavad Gitas (Hardbacks)
inside Srila Prabhupada house in Vrindavan ISKCON during Kartik this year
(in the room where they broadcast the evening Bhagavad Gitas classes daily).

All it took was one blind follower who gave class to
complained & than he had replaced all of our donated original gitas back with changed books
(JAS interpretation of Srila Prabhupada’s Gitas).

When we contacted Vrindavan Temple President,
Pancagauda Prabhu, he gave some lame excuse that he was for original books
but if someone complaints, well nothing can be done.
Just another Guru puppet on salary with no guts to stand up for Srila Prabhupada books especially inside his house in Vrindavan after we have received permission.

If someone is on social media and wants to get a petition going, than we can send
to Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu demanding to return the 20 original books.

I’ll supply pictures of the 20 original Bhagavad Gitas that a donor contributed
but were later taken out of Srila Prabhupada room.

      Contact me,
lets get a thousand devotees or more to sign and send the petition to Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu to return back our original Bhagavd Gita books back for evening classes.

      Chapter 4: Transcendental Knowledge

      TEXT 34

      jnaninas tattva-darsinah

The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.

Note: this is interesting – *impart knowledge*. HOW can they impart KNOWLEDGE since they are IGNORANT Anti Ritvik (Jackals) bogus Gurus? And – they ACTUALLY are IGNORANT. These Anti Ritvik Jackals have NO KNOWLEDGE. The FACT is Srila Prabhupada’s BOOKS: that ACTUALLY HAVE the KNOWLEDGE that is being IMPARTED particularly His Divine Grace’s PURPORTS. Common-sense: WHO gives KNOWLEDGE: Srila Prabhupada in HIS BOOKS—– IMPARTS KNOWLEDGE.

SO WE HAVE TO EXPOSE THEM. THEY ARE NOT LEADER; THEY ARE JACKALS. SO JACKALS CANNOT ANYMORE RULE OVER. THAT SHOULD BE OUR PROPAGANDA

Prabhupada: No, it is Sanskrit. And in Bengal it is called vane asiya raja.(?) “In the forest a jackal has become king.” They are like that. Nila-varna-srigalavat.(?) When… There is big story about this jackal. I will tell you some. A jackal came in the village and he fell in the tub where, what is called, the water? No, no. The water man keeps the water for dipping, making
little bluish. For coloring. That blue, blue. So the washerman kept the dye water in a big tub, and the jackal fell in it. So jackal fell in it; he became blue, all blue. So he fled away, and all the animals said, “What is this animal? What is the animal? What is that animal? Oh?” All, even lion became surprised. “We have not seen this.” “So who are you, sir?” “I AM SENT BY GOD TO RULE OVER YOU.” “OH?” SO THEY BEGAN TO WORSHIP HIM AS GOD, AS LEADER. Then one day other jackals, they were crying, “Wa, wa,” but the jackals cannot stop. If others jackals cry, the jackal cannot stop. So he also began to “Wa, wa.” Oh, then, they, oh, this rascal is a jackal. Yavat kincin na bhasate. That these rascals are jackals. Now they are talking nonsense. We can detect that “Here is a jackal.” SO WE HAVE TO EXPOSE THEM. THEY ARE NOT LEADER; THEY ARE JACKALS. SO JACKALS CANNOT ANYMORE RULE OVER. THAT SHOULD BE OUR PROPAGANDA. NOT ONLY SCIENTIFIC, ALL POLITICAL THINGS, SOCIAL THINGS, EVERYTHING. THEY SHOULD BE ALL KICKED OUT. THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED BY KRSNA CONSCIOUSNESS. THEN PEOPLE WILL BE HAPPY. THIS SHOULD BE OUR PROGRAM. Our, this propaganda means to make people happy. It is not a business, to make business and take some money. And so many jackals have been arrested and resigned in your… You know that? Many jackals have been obliged to resign their post in the government.

So Dear Readers, all we can do is that write a precautionary note similar to the above on the Amazon bewaring the Buyers about this cheating and misrepresentation.

They will be vanquished sooner or later gradually. All the Sincere and Serious followers / devotees of Srila Prabhupada’s VANI have to stay strong to fight back in co-operation with each other according to our capacity, ability and available resources.

    Rathayatra prabhu

I am ready to sign your petition. Let me know when it is ready.
Make a complaint and sent it to Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu in the same manner that this individual complained to have the original Gita’s removed. This individual who complained is DIRECTLY!! complaining to Srila Prabhupada who is not their spiritual master. Srila Prabhupada is NON DIFFERENT from his 1972 Gita!!

Find out who is the guru of this Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu and let us all know.

It is known and accepted by all of Srila Prabhupada’s followers and disciples now and in the future that Srila Prabhupada is the direct representative of Krsna.

As is stated in chapter 17 text 28 Translation:
But sacrifices, austerities and charities performed without faith in the Supreme are nonpermanent, O son of Prtha, regardless of whatever rites are performed. They are called asat and are useless both in this life and the next.

So I declare based on the above Translation from the ORIGINAL 1972 Gita that removing Srila Prabhupada’s 1972 Gitas after being originally accepted by Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu is an act performed without faith in the Supreme let alone Srila Prabhupada. Actually this removal is an act of cowardice and should be addressed as such!!

Perhaps this Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu has not read the Gita at all let alone the 1972 edition. So let us now entertain his conscience and perhaps his intelligence with the complete Chapter 17 Text 28 from the 1972 edition of the Best Bhagavad Gita As It Is on the planet. Feel free to forward my sentiments. I include the Gita Reading room for his new studies and for all those at the Vrndavna Temple and surrounding area.

Chapter 17: The Divisions of Faith

    TEXT 28
    asraddhaya hutam dattam
    tapas taptam krtam ca yat
    asad ity ucyate partha
na ca tat pretya no iha

    SYNONYMS
    asraddhaya—without faith; hutam—performed; dattam—given; tapah—penance; taptam—executed; krtam—performed; ca—also; yat—that which; asat—falls; iti—thus; ucyate—is said to be; partha—O son of Prtha; na—never; ca—also; tat—that; pretya—after death; no—nor; iha—in this life.

    TRANSLATION
But sacrifices, austerities and charities performed without faith in the Supreme are nonpermanent, O son of Prtha, regardless of whatever rites are performed. They are called asat and are useless both in this life and the next.

    PURPORT
Anything done without the transcendental objective-whether it be sacrifice, charity or penance-is useless. Therefore, in this verse, it is declared that such activities are abominable. Everything should be done for the Supreme in Krsna consciousness. Without such faith, and without the proper guidance, there can never be any fruit. In all the Vedic scriptures, faith in the Supreme is advised. In the pursuit of all Vedic instructions, the ultimate goal is the understanding of Krsna. No one can obtain success without following this principle. Therefore, the best course is to work from the very beginning in Krsna consciousness under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master. That is the way to make everything successful.
In the conditional state, people are attracted to worship demigods, ghosts, or Yaksas like Kuvera. The mode of goodness is better than the modes of passion and ignorance, but one who takes directly to Krsna consciousness is transcendental to all three modes of material nature. Although there is a process of gradual elevation, if one, by the association of pure devotees, takes directly to Krsna consciousness, that is the best way. And that is recommended in this chapter. To achieve success in this way, one must first find the proper spiritual master and receive training under his direction. Then one can achieve faith in the Supreme. When that faith matures, in course of time, it is called love of God. This love is the ultimate goal of the living entities. One should, therefore, take to Krsna consciousness directly. That is the message of this Seventeenth Chapter.
Thus end the Bhaktivedanta Purports to the Seventeenth Chapter of the Srimad-Bhagavad-gita in the matter of the Divisions of Faith.

  7. Sudarsana Das Vanacari says:

Why is Hasti Gopal Das trying to whip up all this nonsense about a ”petition?” Do you think these FISKCON leaders give a f*** (fig) about some petition? Don’t make me laugh! If someone has given FISKCON 20 original Bhagavad Gitas THEN HE IS FOOL NUMBER ONE! He should learn from HIS OWN foolishness not to deal with these reprobates! He is probably ‘hearing from them’ and associating with them also!

What has this got to do with us? Why is Hasti Gopal Das trying to waste our time and energy? The answer is pretty obvious. If we have original books WE DISTRIBUTE THEM OURSELVES! WE DO NOT GIVE THEM TO FISKCON TRAITORS WHO WOULD DESTROY THEM! THIS IS JUST STUPIDITY, A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY! This is Hasti Gopal’s program.

    • Amar Puri says:

Sudarsana Das Vanacari, your comments ( point of view ) are always appreciated and well taken.

We have to see the same POINT OF VIEW in the eyes of others as well whether it is personally MOTIVATED or NOT. If NOT, then we should understand the nature of such expression of their writing and concern and advise them accordingly as to why it is necessary or unnecessary to follow through.

Therefore, writing such is this ; ” Why is Hasti Gopal Das trying to waste our time and energy? ” seems pretty much unnecessary.

      We can read and come to understand the sentiment being expressed in his writing below from where he comes from ;

” So I declare based on the above Translation from the ORIGINAL 1972 Gita that removing Srila Prabhupada’s 1972 Gitas after being originally accepted by Vrindavan Temple President, Pancagauda Prabhu is an act performed without faith in the Supreme let alone Srila Prabhupada. Actually this removal is an act of cowardice and should be addressed as such!! ”

It makes sense what Sudarsana Das Vanacari says ; “What has this got to do with us? The answer is pretty obvious. If we have original books WE DISTRIBUTE THEM OURSELVES! WE DO NOT GIVE THEM TO FISKCON TRAITORS WHO WOULD DESTROY THEM! ”

However this is Sudarsana Das Vanacari’s own thought when he says ; ” THIS IS JUST STUPIDITY, A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY! This is Hasti Gopal’s program.” which is unnecessary in my opinion subject to correction.

So my humble suggestion is that kindly lets’ help each other in cooperation for a better understanding in learning of our Jagat Guru HDG. Srila Prabhupada’s VANI and sharing the knowledge with others without bringing out our individual EGO in front of this process of advancing further in cultivating and propagating Srila Prabhupada’s VANI.

NOTE ; WE LEARN A LOT WHEN THE WRITERS DO SHARE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF SUCH KNOWLEDGEABLE WRITING WHICH CERTAINLY ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER TO EXPRESS MEANINGFUL WRITING.

But things are looking up! This is the first time I have had a reply from him. I guess I shook the cage a bit too hard. My apologies for that. So please picture in your mind (as we are separated by such a long distance) Myself, with a straw in my teeth washing the lotus feet of all the devotees (I may have ‘popped out’), starting with Hasti Gopal Das….wow! that is a ‘line’ that stretches past the horizon and beyond!

With permission granted, didn’t expect they would be eventually be taken out,

The reaction from someone posting what we did on social media was awesome,
many commented on this brave bold action and respects came from devotees also in Vrindavan.

The Sahajiyās energy was overbearing during Kartik when the misleaders and gurus were around.

I had to work fast, working a strict daily Sadhana program & protected, did the exchange in one day, dealing with appropriate authoritative blind followers and got the hell out of there.

Book distributors (originals books only) are a different breed, we take action most people call crazy. It’s all for Srila Prabhupada who warned us about these Sahajiyas:

Prabhupada: So Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura: ‘Here is a disciple of Kali. He has tilaka and he has kaṇṭhī and he’s doing this nonsense.'”
