Prabhupāda: There is that
story that one old woman, she was suffering, and she had to collect woods
from the forest and sell in the market. So one day, how do you say, she was
praying to Kṛṣṇa, or
God, that Kindly help me. I am
in very poverty-stricken. So
one day, she was carrying that load of fuel. It fell down. So nobody was
there to help him [her]. So
she began to cry, Who will help
me? So she began to pray to
God, Kindly help me. And God came: What do you want?” “Who are You, Sir?” “I
am God.” “Kindly help me to take this
burden on my head. Yes. All right.
[chuckles]
 From God, shes
asking, Please help me to get
this burden on my head. Thats all. So everyone is going on, Let my family be very happy, my son be
married. He may… Let him be pass M.A. examination. But it is the same thing: Give me the burden on my head. This is the prayer. Mūḍhāḥ. Na māṁ prapadyante

Kṛṣṇa and worship
Him, and hes asking, Give me the burden on my head. Therefore mūḍha, rascal, fool. Hes asking something which will never make him happy, even by
merging into the effulgence, Brahman effulgence. It will never make him

So he
became… The training was that he was training to become a
brāhmaṇa, śamo, dama, but the progress became checked on
account of being attached to a woman.
Therefore
according to Vedic civilization, the woman is accepted as hindrance to
spiritual advancement. The whole basic civilization is how to avoid the Woman You
do not think that only woman is woman. The man is also woman. Dont think that the woman is condemned, man
is not. Woman means enjoyed, and man means enjoyer. So this feeling, this
feeling is condemned. If I see one woman for enjoyment, so I am man. And if
woman also sees another man for enjoyment, she is also man. Woman means
enjoyed and man means enjoyer. So anyone who has got feeling of enjoyment, he
is considered to be man. So here both
sexes meant for…
Everyone is planning, How I shall enjoy? Therefore he is purua,
artificially. Otherwise, originally, we are all prakti, jīva,
either woman or man. This is outward dress. In the Bhagavad-gītā it is said,

are all prakrti, jiva, either woman or man. This is outward
dress. We are prakrti,
spiritual
nature, para prakrti.
The material nature is apara prakrti, and we living entities, we are trying
to enjoy this prakrti. Therefore sometimes
the living entity, either man or woman, he is
described as purusa. Purusa means the one who keeps the feeling of becoming
enjoyer. That is purusa. So this material world is prakrti and purusa. It is
said in the Srimad-
Bhagavatam ithe instruction
of R

[SB
5.5.8]. [The attraction between male and female is the basic principle of
material existence. On the basis of this misconception, which ties together
the hearts of the male and female, one becomes attracted to his body, home,
property, children, relatives and wealth. In this way one increases life’s
illusions and thinks in terms of “I and mine.”]

The prakṛti…
We are prakṛti, nature, I mean to…, spiritual nature, parā
prakṛti. The material nature is aparā prakṛti, and we living
entities, we are trying to enjoy this prakṛti. Therefore sometimes the
living entity, either man or woman, he is described as puruṣa.
Puruṣa means the one who keeps the feeling of becoming enjoyer. That is
puruṣa. So this material world is prakṛti and puruṣa. It is
said in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in the instruction of
Ṛṣabhadeva, puṁsaṁ striyā
mithunī-bhāvam etat [SB 5.5.8]. The
 whole basic
principle of materialistic civilization is the attachment between man and
woman. Puṁsaṁ striyā
mithu
nī-bhāva.
Mithunī-bhāvam is sex. And tayor mitho hṛdaya-granthim
āhuḥ: on
account of this sex relationship, the man or
woman is bound up. Hdaya-granthi.
Granthi means knot, and hdaya
means heart. So the man is thinking of the woman, and the woman is thinking
of man. Hdaya granthim āhu.
Then we require material possession:
ataḥ gṛha-kṣetra-sutāpta-vittair janasya moho ‘yam
ahaṁ mameti [SB 5

is our material, conditional life.

So yajña is not difficult. Now, if by
doing that yajña, if we become free

There is no difficulty. There is no question of difficulty. Rather, it is a
thing of pleasure, ānanda.
The whole thing is ānanda. Ānanda means pleasure. Enjoyment. Spiritual life does not mean
that void of enjoyment, no. Iis full of enjoyment. We are seeking after enjoyment, but that
enjoyment

We are trying to squeezing out the senses and trying to have material

He is making death as the ultimate pleasure. That’s all, then commit
immediately. Why you are writing so many books? Commit suicide, that everyone
can do that.  Why you are philosophizing? You just  make suicide
and become a stonelike death. That why you are philosophizing, taking so much
pain? Better you suicide, commit suicide, and immediately become silent, then
there’s happiness. [laughter] Why you  rascal, bothering yourself and
headaching others? The best thing is that you commit suicide and become dead,
and all happiness is there. As some rascal do that, that by committing
suicide he will solve all problem. So this is easy process, commit suicide,
and why you are writing so many books? If ultimate happiness is to become

Prabhupāda:
That means Freud is a most imperfect person. He is taking sex as very
important thing, which the dog enjoys. As a dog’s life and a hog’s life, the
hog has got very good facility. The monkey has got very good facility for sex
life, and he is thinking this is ultimate goal, and then sleep. So that is
going on. So if sex life is so big thing, the hogs, they have got good facility. The pigeons, they have got very good
facility.
I think every hour they have four times sex life, these
pigeons. So if that is, then you become a pigeon. You pray to God that
“Make me a pigeon, make me a hog.” Why you are becoming
philosopher? Now our philosophy is different—not to become a pig. Nāyaṁ deho deha-bhājāṁ
nṛloke kaṣṭān kāmān arhate
viḍ-bhujāṁ ye (
SB 5.5.1).
The life simply for sense gratification, and for that purpose working so
hard, but that is the business of the pig. That is not the business of the
human being. Human being is tapasya. Tapasya means stop sex life. That is
tapasya. Tapasā brahmacaryeṇa (SB 6.1.13). So our philosophy is
different from his philosophy. And actually we are suffering. The pig has got
good facilities for sex. Does it mean that is ideal life, eating stool and
having sex without discrimination? They have no discrimination, whether
mother or sister or daughter. That is hog life. So if sex life is final
pleasure, then hog is in the greatest pleasure. He has no social obligation.
He has no discrimination. But our philosophy says “Don’t become a hog,
become a sane man.” There, there, there is a difference between his philosophy
and our philosophy.

9

Philosophy
Discussion on Sigmund Freud (HAY)

10

[Lord
Rsabhadeva told His sons: My dear boys, of all the living entities who have
accepted material bodies in this world, one who has been awarded this human
form should not work hard day and night simply for sense gratification, which
is available even for dogs and hogs that eat stool. One should engage in
penance and austerity to attain the divine position of devotional service. By
such activity, one’s heart is purified, and when one attains this position,
he attains eternal, blissful life, which is transcendental to material
happiness and which continues forever.]

Sahani: Misfortune is again, is not in the hands of you and me.

9

Prabhupāda:
No, misfortune is your creation. Fortune… Man is the architect of his own
fortune. So you can create your fortune and misfortune. That is the world,
going on. So many people, they are working, somebody is creating fortune,
somebody is creating misfortune.

Those who are too much attached to women, you associate with them. These
things are there in the śāstras. And practically it is said, dadarśa

Not only he was engaged in
embracing a prostitute, but the prostitute was drunk. Her eyes were moving by
madhu. Wine is made from madhu, sugar, and still, all spirit is made from
molasses. This is old system. This is very intoxicating. Rectified spirits,
you know, doctor may know, this is made from molasses. Because we were in the
chemical line we know. So here it is also said that spirit made, liquor made,
whiskey made from madhu… Pītvā ca

. Maireyam. Another
process of manufacturing wine is, from a flower, is called mahuyā, mahuyā flower.
Perhaps you know. The jungle people, the kirātas,
they take this mahuyā flower
from the jungle, and they soak it in water, and when it is fermented, it
becomes wine. So such kind of… Everything
is there. If anyone wants to manufacture wine, that is also there in Bhāgavata. You see? [laughter] Because
it is perfect knowledge, all knowledge you can get.

VEDABASE CLIPPING OUT SRILA PRABHUPADA’S SANSKRIT VERSES
AND PUTTING IN THEIR OWN TRANSLATIONS

Comment by Mahesh Raja: Everyone KNOWS that Vedabase is controlled by Jayadvaita –  note at the bottom where it says “used with permission of BBTI”.  Salary paid to lackeys eg Ranjit types etc.

1)  Srila Prabhupada gives this encouragement: Right from the beginning of my mission, I have always stressed and encouraged my disciples to work with the college students. You should not be discouraged if people are not coming to your meetings. We are trying to please Krishna. That is all. We simply must go on with our business, to the best of our ability. We must always sincerely try to do our best with great determination. This is the transcendental position. Success or failure, this is not our business. We leave that up to Krishna. My Guru Maharaja said, it does not matter if anyone comes to hear. You go on with your chanting. If no-one hears you the walls will hear. But this does not mean that we should sit down someplace and simply chant Hare Krishna for our own benefit. We should be always anxious to save the cripple minded people with the science of Krishna Consciousness. This is the position of a Vaisnava. Srila Prabhupada said EXPOSE: —- so we expose: if Lord Krsna listens, Srila Prabhupada listens then we have done something to fulfil that order from Srila Prabhupada:

SO WE HAVE TO EXPOSE THEM. THEY ARE NOT LEADER; THEY ARE JACKALS. SO JACKALS CANNOT ANYMORE RULE OVER. THAT SHOULD BE OUR PROPAGANDA

730503mw.la Conversations
Prabhupada: No, it is Sanskrit. And in Bengal it is called vane asiya raja.(?) “In the forest a jackal has become king.” They are like that. Nila-varna-srigalavat.(?) When… There is big story about this jackal. I will tell you some. A jackal came in the village and he fell in the tub where, what is called, the water? No, no. The water man keeps the water for dipping, making little bluish. For coloring. That blue, blue. So the washerman kept the dye water in a big tub, and the jackal fell in it. So jackal fell in it; he became blue, all blue. So he fled away, and all the animals said, “What is this animal? What is the animal? What is that animal? Oh?” All, even lion became surprised. “We have not seen this.” “So who are you, sir?” “I AM SENT BY GOD TO RULE OVER YOU.” “OH?” SO THEY BEGAN TO WORSHIP HIM AS GOD, AS LEADER. Then one day other jackals, they were crying, “Wa, wa,” but the jackals cannot stop. If others jackals cry, the jackal cannot stop. So he also began to “Wa, wa.” Oh, then, they, oh, this rascal is a jackal. Yavat kincin na bhasate. That these rascals are jackals. Now they are talking nonsense. We can detect that “Here is a jackal.” SO WE HAVE TO EXPOSE THEM. THEY ARE NOT LEADER; THEY ARE JACKALS. SO JACKALS CANNOT ANYMORE RULE OVER. THAT SHOULD BE OUR PROPAGANDA. NOT ONLY SCIENTIFIC, ALL POLITICAL THINGS, SOCIAL THINGS, EVERYTHING. THEY SHOULD BE ALL KICKED OUT. THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED BY KRSNA CONSCIOUSNESS. THEN PEOPLE WILL BE HAPPY. THIS SHOULD BE OUR PROGRAM. Our, this propaganda means to make people happy. It is not a business, to make business and take some money. And so many jackals have been arrested and resigned in your… You know that? Many jackals have been obliged to resign their post in the government.

731209SB.LA Lectures
So this Krsna consciousness movement is a challenge to all the rascals and fools, that’s all. SO THOSE WHO HAVE TAKEN THIS MOVEMENT VERY SERIOUSLY, THEY SHOULD BE VERY SOBER AND UNDERSTAND AT LEAST YOU MUST EXPOSE ALL THESE RASCALS. THAT WILL BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED BY KRSNA. Thank you very much. (end)

“So you all write very strongly vehemently. Even it is a little offensive, still these rascals should be taught a lesson. Yes. They’re misleading. Godlessness.” (Conversations April 19, 1973)

721016SB.VRN Lectures
SO WHEN YOU BECOME ACTUALLY PREACHER OF GOD CONSCIOUSNESS, YOU CANNOT MAKE ANY COMPROMISE. YOU MUST CALL THE SPADE A SPADE. Just like Prahlada Maharaja. Prahlada Maharaja is one of the mahajanas. Out of the twelve mahajanas, he’s one of them. Because he was very bold. He was not afraid of his demonic father. He chastised him in so many ways. But he was never afraid. So just like our people are being persecuted in Australia. You know? They have been put into jail because they are preaching Hare Krsna. SO THIS IS NOT VERY EASY THING, EASY-GOING. MY GURU MAHARAJA, BHAKTISIDDHANTA SARASVATI GOSVAMI MAHARAJA, HE DID NOT LIKE THAT HIS DISCIPLES WOULD BE EASY-GOING, CHEAP VAISNAVA.

Note
: BUT YOU HAVE TO FIGHT. THEN YOUR GURU MAHARAJA WILL BE GLORIFIED.

751226mw.san Conversations
Prabhupada: Yes. That you have to prove. You can eulogize your Guru Maharaja, but you have to learn it and face the public and be strong to defend yourself. That is success. Not by praising your Guru Maharaja. You’ll praise your Guru Maharaja. That is not very difficult. BUT BE VICTORIOUS TO THE OPPOSING ELEMENTS. THEN YOU WILL PRAISE YOUR GURU MAHARAJA NICELY. AT HOME, YOU CAN PRAISE YOUR GURU MAHARAJA, AND GURU MAHARAJA BE SATISFIED, “OH, MY DISCIPLES ARE PRAISING ME.” THAT IS NOT VERY…. THAT IS GOOD. RESPECTFUL. THAT IS THE QUALIFICATION. BUT YOU HAVE TO FIGHT. THEN YOUR GURU MAHARAJA WILL BE GLORIFIED.

SB 4.14.41 T The Story of King Vena

TEXT 41
brāhmaṇaḥ sama-dṛk śānto | dīnānāṁ samupekṣakaḥ
sravate brahma tasyāpi |bhinna-bhāṇḍāt payo yathā

SYNONYMS –brāhmaṇaḥ—a brāhmaṇa; sama-dṛk—equipoised; śāntaḥ—peaceful; dīnānām—the poor; samupekṣakaḥ—grossly neglecting; sravate—diminishes; brahma—spiritual power; tasya—his; api—certainly; bhinna-bhāṇḍāt—from a cracked pot; payaḥ—water; yathā—just as.

TRANSLATION – The great sages began to think that although a brāhmaṇa is peaceful and impartial because he is equal to everyone, it is still not his duty to neglect poor humans. By such neglect, a brāhmaṇa’s spiritual power diminishes, just as water kept in a cracked pot leaks out.

PURPORT –Brāhmaṇas, the topmost section of human society, are mostly devotees. They are generally unaware of the happenings within the material world because they are always busy in their activities for spiritual advancement. Nonetheless, when there is a calamity in human society, they cannot remain impartial. If they do not do something to relieve the distressed condition of human society, it is said that due to such neglect their spiritual knowledge diminishes. Almost all the sages go to the Himalayas for their personal benefit, but Prahlāda Mahārāja said that he did not want liberation alone. He decided to wait until he was able to deliver all the fallen souls of the world. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/sb/4/14/41

Srila Prabhupada in many lectures said work “without attachment”. Not with expectation of frutive results—- for for oneself:

TEXT 19
tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ | kāryaṁ karma samācara
asakto hy ācaran karma | param āpnoti pūruṣaḥ

SYNONYMS – tasmāt—therefore; asaktaḥ—without attachment; satatam—constantly; kāryam—as duty; karma—work; samācara—perform; asaktaḥ—nonattachment; hi—certainly; ācaran—performing; karma—work; param—the Supreme; āpnoti—achieves; pūruṣaḥ—a man.

TRANSLATION – Therefore, without being attached to the fruits of activities, one should act as a matter of duty; for by working without attachment, one attains the Supreme. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/bg/3/19

TEXT 1
śrī-bhagavān uvāca
anāśritaḥ karma-phalaṁ | kāryaṁ karma karoti yaḥ
sa sannyāsī ca yogī ca | na niragnir na cākriyaḥ

SYNONYMS – śrī bhagavān uvāca—the Lord said; anāśritaḥ—without shelter; karma-phalam—the result of work; kāryam—obligatory; karma—work; karoti—performs; yaḥ—one who; saḥ—he; sannyāsī—in the renounced order; ca—also; yogī—mystic; ca—also; na—not; nir—without; agniḥ—fire; na—nor; ca—also; akriyaḥ—without duty.

TRANSLATION – The Blessed Lord said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic: not he who lights no fire and performs no work. Link to this page: https://prabhupadabooks.com/bg/6/1

Aside from that, – in the future the nuclear wars will be there. Satellites will be shot down by missiles – no internet, no digital currency etc but—– bullock cart— will be there. Tiling the ground with bullocks. Farm projects:  Simple living high thinking—– was Srila Prabhupada’s project. Cities will be destroyed.

Srila Prabhupada said, “trust no future however certain.”

With our age 60 plus—-how long will we as tenants live in this body– when the order comes—our karma with the body is finnished—–we have to vacate——best to serve Srila Prabhupada’s order best as we can —leave the result to Lord Krsna.

As Srila Prabhupada has said — this changing of the books is serious situation-but who will listen anymore?

Hare Krsna!

[Updated October 28th, 2020]
“REQUEST TO MODIFY THE VEDABASE CHANGES POST”

A news article exposing vedabase changes was posted at the link https://www.prabhupadanugas.eu/news/?p=51865

It is true that the tables expose the changed transcripts but none of these are actually done in the vedabase but these are coming from several social media pages that might be changing on their own.

So the source of LHS is prabhupada.io website, it’s a good website and has nearly transcripts that are exact. RHS is taken from a FB page that is named as https://m.facebook.com/onlyprabhupada/ .
At first, it was thought that the Vedabase might be directly changing things secretly but it is not so for these 9 comparisons, their actual changes have been described in the following paragraphs.

So this FB page uses the reference to Vedabase, they don’t even mention which version, and this page is used by many devotees to preach and forward Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, but it looks like someone is individually changing the quotes by taking from the transcript. So it needs to be rectified. This page has been liked by a lot of prabhupadanugas who might be thinking it is a bonafide page.

In this regard no blaming archives because this looks like it is done by someone simply to post on social media.

The point of view was to find out who this person behind that FB page is also why that person is changing the quotes because so many devotees use that page to preach.

This is one issue.
———————-
The second issue is that there’s one tape on Vedabase.io (online Vedabase version) and Prabhupada vani site which actually has 2nd edition 1976 SB insertions.

This tape should be rectified.

That tape is SB lecture on 1.7.7 on April 24,1975 in which they have inserted one sentence of new revised edition.

Das Video wird von Youtube eingebettet abespielt. Es gilt die Datenschutzerklärung von Google

BBT International Cutting in Srila Prabhupada’s Lectures

Request you to open the above link, and watch the video, it will give you a clear idea that they have inserted a 2nd edition translation in their Vedabase online version.

To summarise:

The first issue is that someone else(may not be archives) on fb is doing mischief and changing the snippets himself by copy pasting and clipping in between.
This is for the comparison tables sent with reference to the FB pages.

The second issue is that the archives might have actually done an insertion of 2nd edition in one transcript of which link of youtube video has been shared earlier. THIS IS THE ACTUAL VEDABASE SECRET CHANGE.
https://vedabase.io/en/library/transcripts/750424sbvrn/?query=1.7.7#bb313314
In this they have inserted 1976 Sb text even if it is from 1975.

Hope now the points are crystal clear.
This now leaves room for no confusion.

If that post can be modified to exposing the names of the FB pages it will be better.
Because of these FB pages, many devotees think that this has been done by the archives but someone might be changing it themselves, we need to find who it is.
It is important to highlight both issues so that devotees can know that not everything posted on social media under the name “original” is bonafide.
Addressing this will help devotees to beware of content that is posted everywhere and keep cross checking with original things.

[Updated October 30th, 2020]
“Article – Beware of Facebook pages posting changed transcripts and online vedabase posts”

So there was a confusion as to who is doing what kind of changes. More detailed article below. Hare Krsna.
——————————————————–
To make things clear properly, the article is divided into 2 parts, one is that the Facebook pages posting changed quotes (which may not be changed in vedabase) and actual vedabase changes (insertion of 2nd edition revised translations in tapes)

Part 1:  List of Facebook pages posting changed quotes with proofs and screenshots.

1. https://www.facebook.com/srilaprabhupada
2. https://www.facebook.com/onlyprabhupada/
3. https://www.facebook.com/spdailyquotes
4. https://www.facebook.com/EveryDaywithSP

Another Facebook page, called https://www.facebook.com/theoriginaliskcon (The Original Iskcon) posts correct transcripts with Sanskrit for almost all of the time, but in one rare occasion it is found that a verse was omitted.  But mostly it does not manipulate the scripts and posts the verbatims. This page is a better source than other pages that manipulate the transcripts.

There is also this website called http://harekrishnacalendar.com/ that posts manipulated daily quotes which is also one of the sources for these Facebook pages.

Some proofs that these pages do not post original quotes:

Proof 1: (showing that harekrishnacalendar.com (FB Page) https://www.facebook.com/EveryDaywithSP doesn’t post originals)

Original script:

Just like in our palms there are certain marks for a particular person indicating his fame and fortune. Similarly the Supreme Personality of Godhead has got certain signs on His Lotus Feet which are unique for Him only, and they are not to be found in ordinary living entities.  [Letter to Bhurijana, October 28,1969]

Pictures showing revised script:
PIC IS MISSING

Original script:
So our engagement should be on that point, that these people will not easily understand, so we are not going to waste time for nothing. If anybody calls for meeting and lecturing, we must charge. Yes. And if they want to hear free, they may come to our temple. Don’t become cheap. You see? My Guru Mahārāja used to say that, photar kathara sei usane na (?): “If somebody becomes cheap, then nobody hears him.” Especially in this country. If you become free speaker, then he’s not taken into very seriously . [Room conversation, Montreal, October 27,1968]

Pictures showing revised script:
PIC IS MISSING

Most of the devotees use the posts from such pages to share among others, but it is necessary to spread an awareness about this site that its not original.

This is not just for 2 days but one can compare them with other days too. [Please look very closely to see the changes]

Proof 2:  Showing that these facebook pages do not use original scripts.

The left hand side shows the original transcripts and right hand side shows revised transcripts.

1. LHS Source: Original audio script

RHS source: FB pages using the “reference to vedabase without mentioning the version of it“. This might seem like the vedabase has changed but this needs to be found out as to who is doing what. For example:

https://www.facebook.com/srilaprabhupada , https://www.facebook.com/onlyprabhupada/

So everyone is going on, Let my family be very happy, my son be

He may… Let him be pass M.A. examination. But it is the same thing: Give me the burden on my head. This is the prayer. Mūḍhāḥ. Na māṁ prapadyante mūḍhāḥ [Bg. 7.15]. The life was meant for understanding Kṛṣṇa and worship Him, and hes asking, Give me the burden on my head. Therefore mūḍha, rascal, fool. So he became… The training was that he was training to become a
brāhmaṇa, śamo, dama, but the progress became checked on account of being
attached to a woman.
Therefore
according to Vedic civilization, the woman is accepted as hindrance to
spiritual advancement. The whole basic civilization is how to avoid the
Woman You do not think that only woman is woman. The man is also
woman. Don
t think that the woman is condemned,
man is not.
 So here both sexes meant
for…
Everyone is planning, How I shall enjoy? Therefore he is purua, artificially. Otherwise, originally, we are all
prak
ti, jīva, either woman or man. This is outward
dress.
In the Bhagavad-gītā it is said,

We are prakrti,  spiritual nature, para prakrti. The material nature is apara prakrti, and we
living entities, we are trying to enjoy this prakrti. Therefore sometimes
 the living entity, either
man or woman, he is described as purusa. Purusa means the one who keeps the
feeling of becoming enjoyer. That is purusa. So this material world is
prakrti and purusa. It is said in the Srimad-
Bhagavatam ithe instruction of Rsabhadeva

[SB 5.5.8]. [The attraction between male and female is the basic
principle of material existence. On the basis of this misconception, which
ties together the hearts of the male and female, one becomes attracted to his
body, home, property, children, relatives and wealth. In this way one
increases life’s illusions and thinks in terms of “I and mine.”]

The prakṛti… We are
prakṛti, nature, I mean to…, spiritual nature, parā prakṛti. The material
nature is aparā prakṛti, and we living entities, we are trying to enjoy this
prakṛti. Therefore sometimes the living entity, either man or woman, he is
described as puruṣa. Puruṣa means the one who keeps the feeling of becoming
enjoyer. That is puruṣa. So this material world is prakṛti and puruṣa. It is
said in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in the instruction of Ṛṣabhadeva, puṁsaṁ striyā
mithunī-bhāvam etat [SB 5.5.8]. The
 whole
basic principle of materialistic civilization is the attachment between man
and woman.
Puṁsaṁ striyā mithunī-bhāva. Mithunī-bhāvam
is sex. And tayor mitho hṛdaya-granthim āhuḥ: on
account of this sex relationship, the man or woman is bound up.
H
daya-granthi. Granthi means knot, and
h
daya means heart. So the man is
thinking of the woman, and the woman is thinking of man. H
daya granthim āhu. Then we require material possession: ataḥ
gṛha-kṣetra-sutāpta-vittair janasya moho ‘yam ahaṁ mameti [SB 5

So in this verse Kṛṣṇa advises Arjuna, “My dear Arjuna, these Kṛṣṇa consciousness activities, even if you achieve one percent result… What is that result? Bhakti. Bhaktiḥ pareśānubhavo viraktir anyatra syāt [SB 11.2.42].

[Devotion, direct experience of the Supreme Lord, and detachment from other things—these three occur simultaneously for one who has taken shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, in the same way that pleasure, nourishment and relief from hunger come simultaneously and increasingly, with each bite, for a person engaged in eating.]

(ii)
The best thing is that why not finish cent per cent in this life? Why should we indulge in materialistic way of life, sense gratification? That we have tried in many lives. This is human form of life, and there were many other lives also. We had been in the water, aquatics; we had been in the vegetable kingdom; we had been animals; we had been worms. So many. This is the highest boon. Labdhvā su-durlabham idaṁ bahu-sambhavānte [SB 11.9.29].

[After many, many births and deaths one achieves the rare human form of life, which, although temporary, affords one the opportunity to attain the highest perfection. Thus a sober human being should quickly endeavor for the ultimate perfection of life as long as his body, which is always subject to death, has not fallen down and died. After all, sense gratification is available even in the most abominable species of life, whereas Kṛṣṇa consciousness is possible only for a human being.]

Insertion of 2001 Isopanishad Edition translations. Isopanishad 2001 is almost similar to 1974 except few changes. The Isopanishad was also changed in 1974 without Srila Prabhupada’s approval and its proof can be found below.

Regarding Sri Isopanisad changes:

Yaśodā-nandana: In the Gurukula we were teaching Īśopaniṣad class to the children. So we took… [break] …Prabhupāda and the words which the recent edition of the Press is wrong. Many changes were brought. They were trying to make better English, but sometimes, to make better English, I think they were making philosophical mistakes also. There is no so much need of making so much better English. Your English is sufficient. It is very clear, very simple. We have caught over 125 changes. They’re changing so many things. We are wondering if this is necessary. I will show you today. I have kept the book.

Srila Prabhupāda: I know that these rascals are doing. What can be done? How they can be relied on? [Rascal editors conversation ,June 22,1977, Vrindavan]

Excerpt 3: (https://vedabase.io/en/library/transcripts/670104bg-new-york/)

Insertion of SB 1976 edition of SB 1st canto translation.

(i)

Bhagavad-gītā 10.4 Type: Bhagavad-gita Date: Jan. 4, 1967 Location: New York

“Therefore next two words after kṣamā, satyam. Satyaṁ yathā dṛṣṭy-artha-viṣayaṁ para-hita-bhāṣaṇam[?]. Satyam means you should speak the actual truth. You should not flatter. You should not flatter for sense gratification. Satyam. Satyaṁ paraṁ dhīmahi. In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam the definition of truth, Absolute Truth, is given there. What is that? Janmādy asya yataḥ [SB 1.1.1]:

[O my Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, son of Vasudeva, O all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. I meditate upon Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa because He is the Absolute Truth and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance and destruction of the manifested universes. He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations, and He is independent because there is no other cause beyond Him.

It is He only who first imparted the Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmājī, the original living being. By Him even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion, as one is bewildered by the illusory representations of water seen in fire, or land seen on water. Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal. I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is eternally existent in the transcendental abode, which is forever free from the illusory representations of the material world. I meditate upon Him, for He is the Absolute Truth.]

Note: It is argued that the 76 version of SB Canto 1 closely represents the Delhi Bhagavatams, but this is not the case here. With a deeper introspection, it is found that the 76 edition is considerably different from the Delhi Bhagavatam sets.

So we should not have abhorrence or attachment. Suppose we have got this microphone. But sometimes there is no microphone; we have to say, lecture, in some jungle, where there is nothing available, neither like this seat. So whatever is available, that’s all right.

Major issue of vadabase.io-Linking of every Sanskrit verse spoken by Srila Prabhupada to the translations of post 1978 editions. This issue is present in almost every transcript

For example,
Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.1.15

Type: Srimad-Bhagavatam

Location: New York

There must be some reaction. Whatever you do, there must be reaction. And that reaction you’ll be entangled. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gītā: yajñārthe karma anyatra karma-bandhanaḥ [Bg. 3.9]. Either you do good work or bad work, if it is for sense gratification, then you’ll be entangled. But yajñārthe karma, if you do for kṛṣṇa-yajña, then you are free. So this process, recommended by Śukadeva Gosvāmī—kevalayā-bhakta—take to devotional service, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and everything, all other things, will be automatically adjusted.

na tathā hy aghavān rājan
pūyeta tapa-ādibhiḥ
yathā kṛṣṇārpita-prāṇas
tat-puruṣa-niṣevayā
[SB 6.1.16]

Here references such as [Bg. 3.9] etc get linked to the Bhagavad Gita changed versions when we click on them.

This issue should be paid attention to because Srila Prabhupada always read from his first edition books and also made disciples read the verses and purports from original books. These references should not in any case be linked to the changed translations, but must be redirected to the original books.

To conclude, both part 1 and 2 address a major issue that needs to solved very quickly that is, manipulating the tapes according to one’s concoction.  These issues are most of the times not detected, and it is necessary to consider the impact on the devotees who use these sources to preach everywhere. A necessary action should be taken to stop these things immediately.

    “Vinaasha Kaale Viparitha Bhuddhi”

All these cheatings are being noticed by Lord of Death, far better are the
humble Lord fearing so called “ignorant” and “illiterate” persons who
simply carry on their prescribed occupational dharma without
falling prey to the so-called ISK’CON “gurus”

Kali Yuga personified is playing tricks, and it’s high time that Most
Powerful administrators of the calibre of Maharaj Prahlada,
Maharaj Parikshit, Maharaj Ambarish should make their holy-descent
to check further degradation and to protect their “children” of
    this tiny Earth planet.

Please take down the first few paragraphs from the post and please rename the title to “ALERT: BEWARE OF FEW FACEBOOK PAGES POSTING CHANGED SRILA PRABHUPADA’S TRANSCRIPTS”

These kind of changes are NOT DONE IN VEDABASE 2017. If you have doubts, please download it yourself and verify.
Yes the recent vedabase versions .do not have original books, but we can’t accuse them for what they did not do as is the case here.

While the tables of comparison are true here, THE CHANGED SNIPPETS IN THE RIGHT COLUMN COME FROM FEW FACEBOOK PAGES. These are the only two facebook pages that post such changed transcripts and are often forwarded on various other platforms.
It is mandatory to inform devotees about the 2 social media pages whose links are posted below.

    https://www.facebook.com/srilaprabhupada
    https://www.facebook.com/onlyprabhupada/

How this is identified? These 2 pages are only ones that use the reference line staring with “>>>
Ref. VedaBase => ” and nowhere any other similar line is found. We can easily come to know that these are the pages that do the changes.

These are the only pages that keep posting such changed transcripts like removing sanskrit verses or even changing any purports, etc.

100s of devotees like and share their posts which are indeed misleading.

Because of these 2 pages, the devotees might be thinking of accusing the Vedabase for changing the transcirpts, but now the cause is known.

If possible please approach the owners of facebook pages given above and ask them to post original scripts.

Please clear this confusion, and change the headline for the same as quickly as possible.

Also please delete the paragraphs that say that vedabase is doing all this, but replace them by alerting devotees about these 2 facebook pages

It is necessary to educate devotees about these 2 fb pages that they aren’t posting original transcripts, as most devotees use these 2 for preaching.

First! Get THE HELL OFF FACEBOOK. It is a demonic entity bent on countering truth. The longer you stay on it giving it money and attention the more it strengthens for ill. STOP FEEDING THE BEAST!

Second! Let’s hear from the leaders who posted this. Let them pose solutions for this instead of just crying the blues in front of their computer key boards. When are the brahmana’s and leaders of our society going to show up?

See this top posting today? “Links for Srila Prabhupāda Amṛtam (books, audio, video, photos)”
Now thanks to this valiant effort we have more ammunition countering the evil changers. So what use are these tools if we do not use them to fight? The best way to fight is to take the Hare Krsna movement back to the streets. To teaching daily in person or on line or in a Nam Hatta set up to everyone.

We know what to do so let’s hear about what is being done to counter these in house demons and have those glorious reports posted. We all tire of hearing the successes of the demons while the world suffers from a very serious lack of leadership and teachers.
