ATOMIC WAR – The whole world is awaiting that disaster

Prabhupāda: It will be used by nature. Prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi (BG 3.27). He is thinking that, “I am proprietor of this atomic bomb,” but he does not know that, “The other’s atomic bomb will kill me, and my atomic bomb, I kill him.” That’s all. He does not know that. He is thinking, “I am very proud of possessing.” But that will be the cause of his death.

ATOMIC WAR

Prabhupāda: That is awaiting. The whole world is awaiting that disaster. The America has got atom bomb and Russia has got atom bomb. As soon as there is another war, the whole world will be finished. The whole world is overburdened by these rascals and demons. So atom, atom bomb is waiting for them. Yes. It will be finished. All the demons will be finished. (Srimad-Bhagavatam Lec.  1.8.34 Los Angeles, April 26, 1973)

Prabhupāda: … Just like the atomic bomb. They are meant for creating disaster, that’s all. What else they can do? And now everyone is having atomic weapon, just like India has now got. That means they are preparing, by nature’s course they are preparing for war, and “I put my atomic bomb on your head, and you put on my head. You die, I die, that’s all.” They simply die. Now what was the result of the disastrous war twice? The whole European nations ruined. They are not no more rich. I saw in Paris, in Germany. They are not as rich as the Americans. Because American inland, there was no such big war, so their opulence is existing, but on account of these two wars, British completely finished.

Prabhupāda: Now the nuclear war means it will not continue very long. The first party who will drop the bomb on the other party, he will be victorious, and immediately the war will stop. They are simply arranging how to drop the atom bomb first. So one who will be able to drop the bomb first, he will be victorious. It doesn’t require long time. Just like in Japan, as soon as the Americans dropped the atom bomb in Hiroshima, immediately they surrendered. This will be the result. Now the question is who will be able to drop the bomb first.

Siddha-svarūpa: The Japanese didn’t have any atom bombs to send back, though.

Prabhupāda: No. It was in possession of Hitler. And your American stolen and kept it. Hitler wanted to use it, but, good sense, he did not like. He said that “I can do it immediately, but I will not do it.” So three bombs they kept ready, and when Germany was in awkward condition these Americans, they stolen, and they used it in Japan. This was manufactured by the German. (Morning Walk — June 16, 1975, Honolulu: )

Yogeśvara: Is such an atomic war foretold in Bhāgavatam?
Prabhupāda: Yes. Next war means atomic war. All these rascals will be killed automatically. I will kill you, you’ll kill me. That’s all.
Yogeśvara: Is that war to occur in the recent future? Or is that a long way off?
Prabhupāda: Very recent. Very recent future. This Communist and capitalist mentality will bring the next . . . the Communists will be victorious.
Dhanañjaya: And after the war, what will be the result?

Prabhupāda: After the war they will come to sense. The Communist problem . . . Communist is not a problem. It is good proposal, but they are missing one point. They are making Lenin the leader. If they make Kṛṣṇa the leader, then the communistic idea will be very fruitful. They are picking up a rascal leader, but if they pick up the nice leader, God, the supreme dictator, then everything is all right. They are catching up a dictator, but they do not know that he is rascal number one. But if he catches the Supreme Lord as dictator, as Kṛṣṇa says, sarva-dharmān parityajya (BG 18.66), then he will be happy, immediately. Keep amongst yourself and produce. Produce food grain, produce cotton, mustard seed. Self-dependent, no use . . . and we don’t require motorcar. Bullock cart is sufficient. There is no need of going anywhere. THE NEXT WAR WILL COME VERY SOON

Prabhupāda: Yes. All Western adventure to keep people in darkness. And that is going on. Now it will be smashed by the next war. Next war will come very soon. Your country, America, is very much eager to kill these Communists. And the Communists are also very eager. So very soon there will be war. And perhaps India will be the greatest sufferer. Because America is aiming to start the war from India.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Will this war spread to many different countries and continents?
Prabhupāda: The actual war will be between America and Russia.

Rāmeṣvara: …that if there is a war between Russia and America, there would be a nuclear war and they would pollute the whole atmosphere with radioactive particles which would kill everyone.
Prabhupāda: It is already polluted.
Rāmeṣvara: They say that this radioactive fall-out…
Prabhupāda: The whole material world is polluted. Who will live here? A little, say, twenty years before, dying. After all, you have to die, twenty years after or twenty years before. So it is already polluted. That is humbugism. They will die at the end, but still they are trying to live.
Rāmeṣvara: They say that this radioactive fallout will pollute the air so that no crops can be grown.
Prabhupāda: That’s all right. You shall die without food. Be(cause) after all, the death. In Bengal, it is called: more bhera ghalne (?): “The most misfortunate thing is death.” That will come. Therefore the best intelligence is how to avoid death.

50 YEARS -FINISHED-

Prabhupāda: They have no answer. As soon as I asked this question… Yesterday also, last, that television, he also asked the same question. He has purchased all our books. So “Why this Christian religion is declined?” And “Why it will not? Why you are violating?” He could not answer. He could not answer. He will violate… All, many Christian priests ask me this question, and as soon as they put this question, they stop. They stop. They cannot answer. “Why you are killing? The first order is ‘Thou shalt not kill,’ and why you are killing?” They cannot answer. I asked them two questions. “Why unlimited God shall have only one son? And why you are killing?” They cannot answer.

Prabhupāda: …. Just like we are going to challenge all these rascals that life is grown out of matter. We are going to challenge. It is not a fact. So how long you can cheat people? For hundred, two hundred, thousand years, but you cannot cheat for all the time.

Umāpati: It has been going on from time immemorial. I guess they figure they can just keep going on for time immemorial.

Prabhupāda: No time immemorial. You are being cheated for two hundred, three hundred years, that’s all. Not before that. All these scientists rascals, have come out within two hundred years. That’s all. So you are being cheated for the last two hundred years, not for thousands of years. So it will be finished. Within another fifty years, everything will be finished.

“AFTER A LAPSE OF FIFTY YEARS”

The soul-killing civilization is progressively taking to the dangerous type of work by invention of huge mechanical means. When the dangerous weapons are produced, they must be utilised for annihilation of blind materialism by the plan of the Daivi Maya or the external energy of Godhead. History has been repeated so many times and many many leaders of materialism like Napoleon, Hitler and others now remain in name only without any sign of the material progress planned by them. De-Stalinisation has already begun in Russia. Nobody is enjoying the result of civilization created by atheists like Ravana, Kansa, Aurangzeb, Napoleon or Hitler. Everything is in oblivion and this teaches us the lesson that the materialistic plans of the present age will also meet with the same fate after a lapse of 50 years. Therefore blind materialism does not bring in any permanent relief in the world.

Note: In Srila Prabhupada’s conversations he clarifies that his predictions do pertain to a war between the USA and the former USSR. Moreover, he states with certainty that the USA aims to start the war (from India) and that Pakistan will start the war with India. More than 49 years have passed since this “prediction” and in the meantime Russia has began a war in Ukraine, saying it is “demilitarizing and denazifying Ukraine.” (1973+50 means the year 2023 for a major war escalation)

SO MUCH KILLING IN THIS WORLD WILL NOT GO WITHOUT FUTURE KARMIC REACTIONS

Prabhupāda: You are killing innocent cows and other animals–nature will take revenge. Just wait. As soon as the time is right, nature will gather all these rascals and slaughter them. Finished. They’ll fight amongst themselves–Protestants and Catholics, Russia and America, this one and that one. It is going on. Why? That is nature’s law. Tit for tat. You have killed. Now you kill yourselves. (JSD 6.5)

Prabhupāda: You are maintaining so many slaughterhouses, and when it will be mature, there will be war, the wholesale murder. Finished. One atom bomb —  finished. You’ll have to suffer. Don’t think that “Innocent animals, they cannot protest. Let us kill and eat.” No. You’ll be also punished. Wait for accumulation of your sinful activities, and there will be war, and the America will drop the atom bomb, and Russia will be finished. Both will be finished. Go on now enjoying. It takes time. Just like even if you infect some disease, it takes time. Not that immediately you infect, and immediately the disease is there. No. It takes a week’s time or so. What is called? A quarantine, quarantine… (SB 6.1.32, Honolulu, May 31, 1976)

June 22 1974 Germany
Prabhupāda: The animals, they are living in their own atmosphere, and these people, they come to kill them. Killing business has become very prominent at the present moment, and therefore they are being killed in the womb of the mother, abortion and killing child. That they do not know. Nature will not excuse you. You are killing; you’ll be killed within your mothers’ womb. You’ll never see the light of the sun. You go on being killed, one after another, as many animals you have killed. They do not know. And time will come in this age when there will be no food and man will kill man and eat. That time is coming. Yes. They are now killing animal, but animal lives on this grass and grains. When there will be no grass, no grains, where they will get animal? They’ll kill their own son and eat. That time is coming. Nature’s law is that you grow your own food. But they are not interested in growing food. They are interested in manufacturing bolts and nuts.

Guest (1): Manufacturing?
Prabhupāda: Bolts and nuts.
Guest (1): Yes, yes, yes. I see.

Prabhupāda: Factory, big, big factory. So they will have to eat bolts and nuts. Where they will get food grains? They thought that “Let us eat the animal and manufacture bolts and nuts.” Then when the animal will be finished, then what they will eat?

THE CAUSE OF WAR’s

Prabhupāda: The big two wars of the world happened only on account of this industry. Do you know that? The cause is the big, big industry. Germany industrial, they produce goods. They must have market. But when they go to sell, there is no market. Britishers will not allow to sell them. The Britisher will take, purchase from them, and stamp it “Made in England” and sell it. And this is the cause of two big war. Therefore German declare twice war. Disaster. Therefore it is said, jagata ahitāya. Then? Go on. (July 2 1974  Melbourne)

Note: – in most cases the general populations are unknowing to the real causes of war-but unfortunately have still to suffer the results of their demoniac leaders.

THE LAST TWO DISASTROUS WAR WAS WAGED ONLY FOR THIS INDUSTRY

Prabhupāda: I think you missed that verse, jagato ahitāya. Anyway, these are the description of demonic activities. So this is practical. The last two disastrous wars were waged only for this industry. This is the cause. German, they are actually in Europe very intelligent and their machine products and other things, they make very nice things. At least, I have got experience, German chemicals are first-class chemical. So they manufacture and British occupied the half of the world in their colonization, whole Africa, and they controlled India and China, Japan, yes, China, Burma, Ceylon, Australia. So these poor people, they manufactured. They have got goods enough; where to sell? As soon as they go to the British territories, “No, you cannot sell. If you want to sell, then hundred percent duty.” So price increase. This was the grudge. Everyone knows. This is the cause of two wars. The jagato ahita.

Now, why so much? You require a scissor? Go to a blacksmith and pay something. He’ll make a scissor. “No. Produce millions of scissor.” Then where is market, sir? This is going on. Produce millions of TV machine. Simple they are used for wasting time. One or two or five made for some important business. Now they are producing millions of sets. They must sell. And people are induced to purchase. And as soon as they purchase, they simply see television. Idol worship. And learning vicious things. Some unnecessary picture is produced there. They like to see it. Two trains are coming and they are smashed. (laughs)

I have seen some television. People are learning how to smash, how to steal, how to harass people. Things are being shown like that. Not that “You are soul. You are spirit soul. If you degrade yourself, you then get this.” You make that television, that how transmigration of the soul is taking place. They have manufactured the machine, so utilize for your propaganda. We have got to do so many things. We can utilize everything. So if they are not used for Kṛṣṇa’s purpose they’ll be used for committing disaster in the world.

Yes. British completely. It is now… Hitler wanted that “I shall again make these English people a fisherman’s island. They have to take their business to fishing only.” (laughter) That was Hitler’s declaration.

Madhudviṣa: That has happened.
Prabhupāda: That has happened.
Madhudviṣa: They are fishing all over the world, trying to get some oil, trying to get some steel, how to get some grain.
Cāru: They only work two days in a week now in England.

Madhudviṣa: That’s finished now. During the petrol shortage they had to cut themselves down to two days a week.

Prabhupāda: Now they have got Australia. Australia is English possession?
Madhudviṣa: No.
Prabhupāda: No, no more.
Cāru: Not any more.

Prabhupāda: But I know, all educated and advanced educated Englishmen, they were coming to Australia for good job. Therefore most of the technical posts, they are occupied by Indians in London. As soon as one is highly qualified medical man, he comes to Australia. So who will take care of them? So therefore they imported some brain from India. Anyway, our time should be saved for self-realization. That is perfect civilization. And not for creating unnecessary necessity of life. That will increase problem.

FOR THE TIME BEING IT IS DIFFICULT

July 2 1974 Melbourne
Madhudviṣa: His question is… He is… This boy is Yugoslavian, Yugoslavian, and he has done some translating of your Īśopaniṣad into Yugoslavian. So he is wondering is it possible to spread Kṛṣṇa consciousness in Yugoslavia?

Prabhupāda: Everywhere possible.

Madhudviṣa: And in other Russian… But these countries are all under Communist rule. It is very difficult in those countries.

Prabhupāda: Not difficult. Nothing is difficult. For the time being it is difficult but in due course of time it will be very easy. Now who knew that in Europe and America or all over the world, Hare Kṛṣṇa will go on? Bon Mahārāja left the field; others left the field. You see? Other swamis came. They talked all nonsense, yoga, this and that, nose pressing, eyes pressing—all finished. Now Hare Kṛṣṇa is going on. Now people, the nose-presser and eyes-presser, they are no more important. Is it not? Eh? Now our men go and challenge these rascals. And in New York they did it, huh?

Devotee: Yes.
Prabhupāda: And they are afraid of our troops. (laughter) They are afraid.

Madhudviṣa: One of those nose-pressers, he once was speaking, and he said, “These Hare Kṛṣṇa people, they like me very much. They always come to my lectures and they sell all the books, all their books, and then they go away before I start to talk.”

Prabhupāda: “You go on pressing your nose. We make our business and go away.” (laughter)

Madhudviṣa: He was speaking like that because our men go into the lecture dressed in disguise, plain clothes, and we are going in the audience selling books to everyone. They all get the book, and then, when he begins to speak, then we all turn around and go out.

Prabhupāda: Yes, they did it in the Guru Maharaji’s camp also. Hundreds of Bhagavad-gītā As It Is sold.

Satsvarūpa: Thousands.

Prabhupāda: Thousands. So we take advantage of this meeting. We do our business and go away. And they have no books. They have simply that pressing of nose, that’s all, nothing else. They have no philosophy, nothing of the sort. What they will write? They have no philosophy. Simply cheat that “Press your nose; you get Bhagavān.” That’s all. And people think, “It is so easy. Why shall I go to Bhaktivedanta Swami? Let me go to this Guru Mahārāja.” They think like that. And some of our men, feeling too much pressure, they go away. But here there is nothing cheap, that simply by pressing nose and eyes and you become God. Don’t make compromise. This principle must be observed. Then you’ll remain strong. As soon as you make compromise, then it is finished.

Note: – Srila Prabhupada many times had said our preaching will be better after the next war. He also gave a prediction that in 50 years this so called demoniac civilization will be finished. So add  1973  and 50–, what do you come up with??

DEMONIAC PEOPLE

kāmam āśritya duṣpūraṁ dambha-māna-madānvitāḥ
mohād gṛhītvāsad-grāhān pravartante ’śuci-vratāḥ

The demoniac, taking shelter of insatiable lust, pride and false prestige, and being thus illusioned, are always sworn to unclean work, attracted by the impermanent.

PURPORT: The demoniac mentality is described here. The demoniac person, who has no faith in God or the Supersoul within himself, performs all kinds of sinful activities simply for sense gratification. Such demoniac people are only attracted by wine, women, gambling and meat eating; those are their aśuci, unclean habits. Induced by pride and false prestige, they create some principles of religion which are not approved by the Vedic injunctions. Although such demoniac people are most abominable in the world, still, by artificial means, the world creates a false honor for them. Although they are gliding toward hell, they consider themselves very much advanced.

The demoniac are engaged in activities that will lead the world to destruction. The Lord states here that they are less intelligent. The materialists, who have no concept of God, think that they are advancing. But, according to Bhagavad-gītā, they are unintelligent and devoid of all sense. They try to enjoy this material world to the utmost limit and therefore always engage in inventing something for sense gratification. Such materialistic inventions are considered to be advancement of human civilization, but the result is that people grow more and more violent and more and more cruel, cruel to animals and cruel to other human beings. They have no idea how to behave toward one another. Animal killing is very prominent amongst demoniac people. Such people are considered the enemies of the world because ultimately they will invent or create something which will bring destruction to all. Indirectly, this verse anticipates the invention of nuclear weapons, of which the whole world is today very proud. At any moment war may take place, and these atomic weapons may create havoc. Such things are created solely for the destruction of the world, and this is indicated here. Due to godlessness, such weapons are invented in human society; they are not meant for the peace and prosperity of the world.

WHO WILL BE SAVED OR NOT WILL DEPEND ON KṚṢṆA

Harikesa: The sinless people will survive?
Prabhupada: Yes.
Devotee: Who is that?
Prabhupada: We. (break) There was an artificial famine in India and I particularly inquired from all devotees whether they have got any problem in this famine. They said, “No, we haven’t got.” I have taken the statistics. In 1942 the artificial famine created by government… So there were big earthquake in Bihar. At that time one of my godbrother, he was government auditor. So I inquired. In that earthquake only his house was saved. I have seen it many times. Kaunteya pratijanihi na me bhaktah pranasyati. That is the only….

WILL A NUCLEAR DEVASTATION EFFECT THE SANKIRTANA MOVEMENT

You have asked about whether nuclear devastation on this planet would effect the Sankirtana Movement. No, there is nothing that can stop the Sankirtana Movement because it is the will of God Himself, Lord Caitanya, that His Holy Name be heard in every town and village. Neither can the demons devastate this planet independent of the will of Krsna. Nothing happens without His sanction. If Krsna wants to kill someone no one can save Him, and if Krsna wants to save someone no one can kill him. For our parts we should just be determined to carry out our mission against all opposition, demons, nuclear war, whatever. The whole universe is finally subject to certain annihilation by the will of Krsna, but devotional service is eternal and is the only certain way one can save himself from devastation. (S.P.
