  1. Oh what a fired up and enthusiastic lecture…THANK YOU, PRABHU!

As to “what do people get out of eating meat, besides sin?…

I would like to add: As for this life they get the partial load of sinful reactions in the form of terrible suffering in the form of horrible diseases and an early, very painful passing at the time of death.

SOME OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF INDIGESTION FROM EATING MEAT:

    Destruction of brain cells
    Stroke
    Seizures
    Tremors
    Multiple sclerosis

    Skin rash……………….

When following the regulative principles of the Vedas one is mostly spared of the consequences of flesh eating which will come to haunt one in the form of mental and physical illnesses.

These moral principles are meant for a smooth passage of the spirit soul from one human life to the next without the stumbling blocks of diseases which mean grave sufferings and early death. The perfection of human life is very difficult to strive for in a diseased body which is the consequence for sinful activities in the form of meat eating, Alkohol, drugs and excessive sex. A human life has a maximum duration of 100 years and every activity which shortens this time is most regrettable.

Sense-gratification is sweet in the beginning and poison in the end that’s why all the holy scriptures of the world advise to restrict the senses by regulatory principles in order to progress on the path of self realisation more easily.

Activities in the mode of ignorance always end in suffering and destruction. It does not matter who one is, a billionaire or a beggar, ALL WILL HAVE TO PAY THE PRICE FOR TRANSGRESSING THE LAWS GIVEN BY GOD.

They all, Oligarch or sweeper, will be brought to their knees for all the abuse and pain they have inflicted upon innocent birds and cows, bulls, pigs and other human beings.

Everyone that has joined this bloody banquet of cruelty, the blood on their hand will not wash off as Pontius Pilate tried. The blood on their hands will stay with them right until their deathbed and beyond as their loathful life passes by them in a flash.

  2. Sudarasana Das Vanacari says:

Yes! very potent, energy filled discourse and as it was of shorter duration THAT LEFT ME WITH THE FEELING OF WANTING MORE! Excellent projection and volume!

I love the “dogs, hogs, camels and asses” examples which Srila Prabhupada gave so often as these are timeless analogies inspired by Lord Krishna Himself. This is wonderful to hear as the process of simply repeating Srila Prabhupada’s words carries with it a great love and devotion to the principals of guru tattva which not only pleases Srila Prabhupada but also the whole parampara and Lord Krishna Himself.

Good points from Mohini Devi Prabhu on the subject of Krishna prasadam. Traditionally many Indian recipes were created by the Ayuvedic practicioners (kaviraja’s) and since the Ayurveda comes from Lord Krishna’s own incarnation of Sri Dhanvantari! what better dishes to offer the Lord than these traditional tasty vegetarian recipes of which there is a huge variety and as a result promote very good health and well-being!
